Harold B. Walker

Harold B. Walker, 90, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, October 28 in Greenfield. He was born May 30, 1913 in Sanburn, a son of the late Eber M. and Effie L. (Boyd) Walker.
Mr. Walker was retired from the Chrysler Corp. of New Castle. He was a former charter member of the Knightstown Lions Club. He was married to Grace Walker who died March 5, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Jack (wife Linda) Walker of Greenwood, and Lee (wife Dianne) Walker of Knightstown; two step-sons, Larry (wife Frances) Kester of Middletown and Michael Kester of New Palestine; two step-daughters, Sharon (husband Otis) Baker of Greenfield and Virginia (husband Rod) McIntosh of Carmel; one brother, Paul (wife Marge) Walker of Knightstown; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, a brother, Jesse Walker, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 31 at Pasco Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Michael Manning officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Visitation was held at the funeral home October 30.

Betty J. Sullivan
June 29, 1925 – Nov. 20, 2003
Betty J. Sullivan, 78, of Arlington died Thursday, November 20 in Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. She was born June 29, 1925 in Quincy, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Fern (Greer) Revolt.
Mrs. Sullivan had lived in the Carthage-Arlington area for the last 58 years. She was graduated from Carthage High School with the Class of 1943. During the 1960s, she was a cook at the Carthage School cafeteria. During the 1970s and 1980s, Betty had worked as a teller and bookkeeper at the Carthage Bank. She was a member of the East Street Christian Church in Carthage and the Mixer Homemaker Club in Carthage.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard C. Sullivan, Jr. of Arlington; one son, Robert J. (wife Cheryl) Sullivan of Arlington; one daughter, Linda (husband Bryan) McMahan of Carthage; one brother, Donald Revolt of Cumberland; one sister, Mary Stahl of Arizona; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Services were held Saturday, November 22 at Fletcher United Methodist church with Rev. Roger Campbell and Pastor Bruce Banister officiating. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
Visitation was held at the Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville on Friday, November 21.
Robert Lee Wampler
Sept. 4, 1929 – Nov. 21, 2003
Former Knightstown resident, Robert Lee Wampler, 74, died Friday, November 21 at his Greenfield residence. He was born September 4, 1929 in Bloomington, a son of the late William Wayne and Alice Maria (Freeman) Wampler.
Mr. Wampler retired from Eastern Hancock Schools in 1991 after teaching for 34 years. He graduated from Bloomington High School and continued his education at Indiana University, receiving his Master’s Degree in teaching. He served as a member of the Independent Party on the Knightstown Town Board from 1983 to 1987. Wampler served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Ann Wampler whom he married September 12, 1950; three sons, Gary Brad Wampler of Knightstown, Kerry Wampler of Greenfield, and Jeffery Wampler of Bloomington; four daughters, Katherine Wampler of Greenfield, Lee Ann Dolezal of Laotto, Julia Martin of Andover, Mass., and Rhonda Hummer of Bloomington; one brother, Donald Richard Wampler of Columbus; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 25 at First Assembly of God Church in New Castle with Steven Galloway officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Memory Garden in Bloomington.
Visitation was held at the Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield Monday, November 24.
Marthanna Rozzell
Aug. 29, 1917 – Nov. 17, 2003
Marthanna Rozzell, 86, a resident of Wilkinson died Monday, November 17 at the Ellison House in Greenfield. She was born August 29, 1917 in Hamilton County, a daughter of the late Scott and Edith (Hamble) Payne.
Mrs. Rozzell retired in 1972 from Delco-Remy in Anderson after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sister, Chlora Beth (husband Albert) Rees of Fishers and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Button” Rozzell on October 11, 2001 and sister Naomi Beagle in 1991.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jon Vance officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today (Wednesday, November 19) from 4-8 p.m.
Mary Anderson-Needle
Nov. 7, 1924 – Nov. 5, 2003
Mary A. (Collins) Anderson-Needle, 78, a resident of Poway, Calif. and a former resident of Wilkinson, died November 5 following a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1924 near Wilkinson, a daughter of the late Homer and Cora (Keller) Collins.
Mrs. Anderson-Needle was a 1941 graduate of Wilkinson High School. She and her first husband, Joseph Anderson was married September 27, 1941 and moved to California. She retired from Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, Calif. as a sales lady and buyer for the Ladies and Children’s Apparel Shop.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Gilbert Needle; four children, Candice Dominquez, Debra (husband Ross) Jameson, Vickey (husband Gary) Martin, and Fred (wife Becky) Anderson; one brother, George (wife Avanelle) Collins; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Anderson on November 9, 1986; a brother, Ivan Collins; and one sister, Vivian Fryback, preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held Saturday, November 8 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jon Day officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery. There was no calling.
Dorothy S. Pickett
Aug. 19, 1911 – Dec. 2, 2003
Dorothy S. Pickett, 92, of New Castle and formerly of Jekyll Island, Ga., died Tuesday, December 2 at Hickory Creek of New Castle. She was born August 19, 1911 in Canada, a daughter of the late Roy R. and Danta Keller Stephenson.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Cornell University. She came from a five-generation veterinarian family. Mrs. Pickett raised, showed and judged dachshunds for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandy (husband Floyd) Emerson of Knightstown; four grandchildren, Vikkilynn (husband John) Ferguson of Port Charlotte, Fla., Christopher (wife Johnnie) Emerson of Lafayette, David (wife Nicole) Emerson of Hamilton, Ohio, and Douglas (wife Staci) Emerson of Knightstown; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Revis L. (wife Mira) Stephenson of Nakomis, Fla.; one sister, Elizabeth (husband Robert) Brown of New York; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George G. in 1991.
Memorial services for Dorothy S. Pickett will be held Monday, December 15 at Faith Chapel in Knightstown.
Robert E. Campbell
Sept. 4, 1949 – Dec. 5, 2003
Robert E. Campbell, 54, of Greenfield died Friday, December 5 at the V.A. Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 4, 1949 in Rushville, a son of the late Emery and Ruby (Porter) Campbell.
Mr. Campbell had worked in a factory.
He is survived by one son, Brian (wife Candice) Campbell, Colorado Springs, Colo; two daughters, Ragina Campbell and Tina Eller, both of Colorado Springs, Colo; five brothers, Jack (wife Emily) Evans of Greenfield, Larry (wife Julie) Evans of Greenfield, Garry (wife Gay) Evans of Rushville, Ron (wife Juanita) Evans of Tomahawk, Wisc., and Roger (wife Jane) Campbell of Carthage; three sisters, Sue Dunagan of Fairland, Ann (husband Jack) Vanderboom of Rhinelander, Wisc., and Judy (husband John) Willims of Fairland; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Evans of Greenfield, and Darlene Evans of Connersville; and three grandchildren, Bradley, Aubrianna and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Ray and Lawrence Evans.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 8 at the Fletcher United Methodist Church of Carthage with Pastors Garry Evans and Roger Campbell officiating. Burial was in Center Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel Sunday, December 7.
Amanda L. Wright
May 21, 1981 – Dec. 5, 2003
Amanda L. (Heagy) Wright, 22, died Friday, December 5 at her residence in Indianapolis. She was born May 21, 1981 in Terre Haute to Jeannine Staples Heagy and the late Danny Ray Heagy.
Amanda was a 2000 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was employed by McDonald’s restaurant at Holt Road in Indianapolis. On June 24, 2001, she married James W. Wright in Indianapolis and he survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Brandon W. Wright; her mother, Jeannine Heagy of Indianapolis; one brother, Timothy (wife Marie) Heagy of Indianapolis; mother and father-in-law, Jay and Terry Wood, brother-in-law, Greg Wood and grandparents-in-law, John and Mary Wood, all of Carthage.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, December 10) at David A. Hall Mortuary in Pittsboro with private funeral services at the convenience of the family.
