Frances Joan Gilliland

Frances Joan Gilliland, 79, a resident of Greenfield, died Friday, December 14 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 27, 1922 in Kokomo, a daughter of the late Harry J. and Myrtle (Fry) Michael.
Mrs. Gilliland was a homemaker, a mother and a member of the Christian Faith. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Fortville.
Surviving re four sons, Patrick Gilliland of McCordsville, Jack Gilliland of Greenfield, Bill Gilliland of Anderson and Rusty Gilliland of Wilkinson; one daughter, Peggy Gilliland of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Bain of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Gilliland in 1984, one son Charles Gilliland in 1984 and several brothers and sisters.
Services were held Tuesday, December 18 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jon Day and Herman R. Pieper Jr. officiating. Burial was in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation was Monday, December 17 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Cophean L. Bricker
April 9, 1912 – Dec. 14, 2001
Cophean L. Bricker, 89, a former resident of Wilkinson and Greenfield, died Friday, December 14 at Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield, Ky.
She was born April 9, 1912 in Hancock, a daughter of the late Add and Alma (Valentine) Milner. Mrs. Bricker was retired in 1985 from Birma Manufacturing of Greenfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Patty Anderson of Morristown; one son Harold “Bud” (wife Imogene) Bricker of Leitchfield, Ky.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bricker in 1989 and an infant son, Donald L. Bricker in 1946.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson with Pastor Allen Collier officiating.
Visitation was at the Condo & Son Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17.
Casey J. Walker
Feb. 6, 1984 – Dec. 12, 2001
Casey J. Walker, 17, died at his home in Greenfield December 12. He was born February 6 in Horse Cave, Ky., a son of Paul Brown and Charlotte (Walker) Walda.
Casey enjoyed playing music, golfing, fishing and hunting. He attended Greenfield Central High School.
Survivors include his father, Paul Brown of Greenfield; his mother Charlotte and stepfather Mike Walda of Indianapolis, formerly of Knightstown; three brothers, Eric O. Brown, Greenfield, Paul Brown of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tim Brown of Whiteland; three sisters, Misty M. Antrobus, Indianapolis, Bridgette Johnson, New Albany and Alisha Walker of Indianapolis, two step-brothers, Brian Walda, Columbus and Kurtis Walda, New Castle; two nieces, six nephews, one great-nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Lou Cox and an aunt, Joyce Holliday.
Services were held Monday, December 17 at Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield with Rev. Randall Parker officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Visitation was Sunday, December 16 at the funeral home.
James E. Walker
Apr. 21, 1941 - Sept. 26, 2002
James E. Walker, 61, of New Castle, died suddenly Thursday, September 26 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born April 21, 1941 in Fordsville, Ky., a son of the late Floyd and Ada Walker. Mr. Walker had been employed with Marsh Supermarkets Inc. for the past 43 years. At the time of his death, he was the produce manager at Southway Plaza Lo-Bill Foods in Muncie. He was a 1960 graduate from Knightstown High School and a member of Lionel Toy Train Collectors Society.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ruth Walker of New Castle; two sons, James (wife Windy) Walker, Jr. of New Castle and David (wife Shannon) Walker of Greenfield; one daughter, Teresa (husband Chris) Kaczmarek of Anderson; four grandchildren, Erin and Cameron Kaczmarek of Anderson and Mercer and Stormy Walker of New Castle; two sisters, Shirley (husband Huelon) Anderson of Knightstown and Jean (husband Leo) Egan of Grant City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Glen Cranfill.
Services were held Monday, September 30 at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home in Anderson with Rev. Marvin Baker officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was held Sunday, September 29 at the funeral home.
Robert C. Lackey
July 17, 1933 - Sept. 25, 2002
Robert C. "Bob" Lackey, 69 of Shirley, died at this home Wednesday, September 25. Bob was born July 17, 1933 in Noblesville, a son of the late Thomas Clarence and Hazel Moose Lackey.
Mr. Lackey graduated from the Lapel High School with the class of 1951. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Delphi Division of General Motors in Muncie in 1998 after 28 years of service. Also, he was a member of the Shirley Gospel Mission Church in Shirley where he had served as pastor for nine years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Vivian R. Moran Lackey, whom he wed June 1, 1957 in Grant City; two sons, Thomas A. (wife Shontell) Lackey of Fortville, Stephen H. Lackey of Shirley; one daughter, Donna K. (husband Steve) Dollens of Ingalls; nine grandchildren; one brother, William H. "Bill" (wife Thelma) Lackey of Fortville; one sister, Rachel Beaver of Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 28 at the Shirley Gospel Mission Church with the Rev. Charles Riggs officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery at Wilkinson. Visitation was Friday, September 27 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home-Estell Chapel in Shirley.
Reva I. Pitts
July 21, 1916 - Sept. 27, 2002
Reva I. (Simmons) Pitts, 86, a resident of rural Pendleton, died at her residence Friday, September 27. She was born July 21, 1916 in Kentucky, a daughter of the late Will and Narcissus Stacy.
Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and retired from Firestone in Noblesville in 1978. She was a member of the Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Knightstown.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Pitts of rural Pendleton; two daughters, Loretta (husband Kenneth) Alspaugh of Anderson and Deborah (husband Mike) Higginbotham of Pendleton; one son, Richard (wife Barbara) Simmons of New Castle; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orville Simmons in 1978, one granddaughter and three great-granddaughters, three sisters, Maggie Sapp, Maude Rankin and Ethel Stacy, and six brothers, Ott, Holt, Sherman, Omer, Ivan and Arnie Stacy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 1 at the Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Randy Gross officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was held at the funeral home Monday, September 30.

Sue Reichart
ca 1935 - Sept. 15, 2002
Former Henry County resident, Sue Reichart, 67, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sunday, September 15 at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in Florida.
She was born in Henry County and graduated from Kennard High School.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Reichart; one son, Michael Reichart of Cincinnati; one daughter, Sheila Foot of Ithaca, N.Y.; one sister, Joan Williams of Lafayette; six grandchildren and mother-in-law Reba Reichart.
A memorial service was held Sunday, September 29 at Greensboro United Methodist Church.
