Lou Ella Magee

Lou Ella Magee, 65, of Logansport, formerly of Carthage, died Nov. 18 at her home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1944, a daughter of Maine and Flora (Howard) Magee.
Ms. Magee was a 1962 Carthage High School graduate who received a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in 1966. She later earned a master’s degree from Indiana University. Ms. Magee taught at Arlington High School (Rush Co.) for three years. She then taught English and social studies at Maconaquah Middle School for 37 years, retiring in 2006. She also served for many years as president of the Maconaquah Education Association. A member of St. James Lutheran Church, Ms. Magee served on the church’s missions and evangelism committee.
Survivors include her partner, Sue Laymon of Logansport; a nephew, Eric (wife, Melissa) Magee of Peru; a brother, Richard (wife, Marcia) Magee of Spiceland; two sisters, Geraldine Strong of New Castle and Gloria (husband, Lyle) Plank of Greenfield; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Farris Magee, Fred Magee and Ronald Magee; and two sisters, Darlene Muir and Virginia Norfleet.
Funeral services were Nov. 24 at St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport with Pastors K.C. Dehning and Marvin Hinkle officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation was Nov. 24 prior to services at the church. Kroeger Funeral Home in Logansport handled arrangements.
Brian Lee Linville
August 16, 1977 - November 16, 2009
Brian Lee Linville, 32, of Dunreith, died Nov. 16 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born Aug. 16, 1977, in Rushville, a son of Jack Robert Linville and the late Iris Claudette (McFarland) Linville.
Mr. Linville was known as a devoted husband, Father, son, brother, brother-in-law and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his children. He was employed at Grede Foundry in New Castle for the past two years.
Survivors include his wife, Brooke (Hicks) Linville of Knightstown; three sons, Kolton, Aaron and Ethan Linville of Knightstown; his father, Jack Linville of New Castle; a brother, Thomas (wife, Elena) Linville of North Carolina; his stepfather, Mike Wilson of Carthage; a niece and nephew, Kristina and Kristian Linville of Columbus; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerston Linville.
Funeral services were Nov. 20 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Pam Faye Florea
July 26, 1969 - November 19, 2009
Pam Faye "PamBo" Florea, 40, of Oxford, Ohio, died Nov. 19 at Christ Hospital in Oxford.
She was born July 26, 1969, in Carlisle, Ky., a daughter of the late Denver Kirby and Alice Weaver.
Mrs. Florea was a 1987 Carlisle High School graduate. She earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts management from Sullivan College of Business in 1989. Mrs. Florea served as executive manager of bakery operations and pastry chef for Miami University until 2007. She led a team of professional bakers at the Culinary Support Center and she served on the Retail Bakers Association board of directors. Her motto was, "to be the best, you need to work with the best." Mrs. Florea enjoyed spending time by the pool with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; five brothers, Duane Kirby, Bryan Kirby, Steve Kirby, Garr Kirby and Aaron Weaver and families, all of Kentucky; her in-laws, Judy and Frank Hilcz, Dawn Florea, Jim (wife, Jenny) Florea, Carrie (husband, Chris) Underwood, Bob and Gracie Wisehart, Lamoine and Virginia Harrell and Helen Florea; and several nieces and nephews, all from the Knightstown area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Arlie; and her grandmother, Chrystle Kirby.
Visitation was Nov. 23 at Smith & Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial took place Nov. 24 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Paris, Ky. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
James R. Estell
January 14, 1935 - November 12, 2009
James R. "Jim" Estell, 74, of Mooreland, died Nov. 12 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Henry County, a son of the late John Henry and Nona Bell (Jackson) Estell.
Mr. Estell was a shop foreman who retired in 1993 from Life-A-Loft Industry in Cowan after nearly 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially boating, camping and fishing. Mr. Estell enjoyed watching NASCAR races and Colts football. In his younger years he enjoyed racing go-karts.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta J. (West) Estell; four daughters, Cherly (husband, Burl) Dudley of Fillmore, Terri Nicholas of Spiceland, Debbie Sharp of Greensboro and Nancy Kenny of New Castle; two sisters, Ruth (husband, Doug) Jackson of Springport and Lillian Ritchie of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Leslee Brown, Kim (husband, Steve) Gauck, Brandi Carnes, Matt (wife, Carla) Carnes, Alex Carnes, Jeremy Sharp, Ashley Sharp, Chelsea Kenny and Kyle Kenny; a step-grandchild, Karen (husband, Rob) Modlin; six great-grandchildren, Cierra Brown, Zac Baldock, Blade Brown, Christopher Gauck, Addie Gauck and Emilee McKenna; and three step-great-grandchildren, Ryan, Devin and Shaina Nickelson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Junior, Richard, Howard, Cecil and Paul Estell; his father-in-law, Vere West; mother-in-law, Pauline West; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Ritchie; and two sons-in-law, Larry Sharp and Jerry Nicholas.
Funeral services were Nov. 16 at Main and Davis Funeral Home in near Mooreland. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation was Nov. 15 at the funeral home.
James M. Bailey, Jr.
November 13, 1937 - November 12, 2009
James M. Bailey Jr., 72, of rural Kennard, died Nov. 13 at Golden Living Center in Greenfield.
He was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Indianapolis, a son of the late James M. and Mary E. (Craig) Bailey.
Mr. Bailey worked at Vonnegut’s Hardware in Indianapolis and retired from Granger Tools. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and the Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and other sports.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Rose (Irwin) Bailey of Kennard; four sons, James Bailey III of Milton, Jeffrey Irwin Bailey of Kennard, Jason Scott (wife, Allison) Bailey of Mukwonago, Wis., and John Craig Bailey of Kennard; two grandsons, Kile Austin Bailey and Kole Ryan Bailey; a sister, Bonnie Sue Sanders of Columbus; his stepmother, Betty Bailey of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Nov. 18 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was Nov. 17 at the funeral home.

Mike Matlock
November 13, 1950 - November 14, 2009
Mike Matlock, 59, of rural Knightstown, died Nov. 14 at Regency Place in Greenfield.
He was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Greenfield, a son of the late George and Norma (Engleking) Matlock.
Mr. Matlock was a farmer, a corporate tax accountant and avid sports fan. He helped coach Optimist sports and enjoyed working with beef cattle and spending time with his family. He was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152.
Survivors include his wife, Teri Barnes-Matlock; a son, Matthew (wife, Debbie) Matlock of Knightstown; two daughters, Manda (husband, Eric) McDaniel of Knightstown and Morgan (husband, Tom) Hill of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Brayden, Peyton, Zach and Chase; two brothers, Marty (wife, Robin) Matlock and Mel (wife, Jane) Matlock, all of Knightstown; and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Sid Martin officiating. Visitation is 4 p.m. until time of services.

Robert Thomas Wolski
December 26, 1927 - November 5, 2009
Robert Thomas Wolski, 81, of Shirley, died Nov. 5.
He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Anderson, a son of the late Jacob and Audrey (Love) Wolski II.
Mr. Wolski attended Saint Mary’s School and moved to Shirley in 1935. He graduated from Kennard High School in 1946. He played basketball for Kennard and remained friends with his high school teammates. Mr. Wolski served in the U.S. Army as a technician fifth grade in the medical department at Fort Dix, N.J. He later earned a tool and die maker certification and worked for Delco Remy, retiring in 1993. Known as an outstanding athlete and sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of Bobby Knight and IU basketball, Lou Holtz and Notre Dame football, Sparky Anderson and Cincinnati Reds baseball, the TV show "MASH" and racing. Mr. Wolski also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Lola (Smalley) Wolski; a daughter, Laura (husband, Mark) Smith; a son, James (wife, Lisa) Wolski; a granddaughter; three grandsons; a sister, Anna Kennedy; a brother, Dale Wolski; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Snider; four brothers, Jacob James Wolski III, Walter Wolski, Richard Wolski and Donald Wolski; and two nephews, Andrew and Steve Wolski.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Knightstown with Father Joseph Rautenberg and Father W. Michael Kettron officiating. Private burial arrangements are pending with Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.
