Lavada Gayle Wilson

Lavada Gayle Wilson, 74, of Carthage, died May 29 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born April 6, 1935, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Paul and Artie (Conner) Clevidence.
Mrs. Wilson was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilt making, embroidery and participated in a weekly sewing club. She also enjoyed taking care of her plants. Mrs. Wilson was known as someone who loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Wilson of Carthage; two sons, Bruce (wife, Joanie) Wilson of Carthage and Mike Wilson of Carthage; three grandchildren, Lindsay (husband, John) York of Connersville, Erik Wilson of Carthage and Patrick Wilson of Carthage; two step-grandchildren, Thomas and Brian Linville; five great-grandchildren, Aaron McDonald and John, Alex, Adam and Madison York; five step-great-grandchildren, Kristina, Christian, Colten, Aaron and Ethan Linville; a goddaughter, Cathy Jones of Rome, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Wilson; and two grandchildren, Kristen and Noah Wilson.
Funeral services were June 3 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor David Bonne officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation was June 2 at the funeral home.
Angelia Chantelle Wagner
Feb. 22, 1975 – May 31, 2009
Angelia Chantelle Wagner, 34, of Barbourville, Ky., died May 31 in Knightstown.
She was born Feb. 22, 1975, a daughter of Wayne and Carol (Elliston) Wagner.
Ms. Wagner was known as someone who loved her children. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, bowling and skating with her children. Her mother was very important in her life.
Survivors include her parents; a daughter, Kayla Wagner of Knightstown; Peyton, Jonas and Christopher Wagner of Barbourville, Ky.; a sister, Tonya Lewis of Morehead, Ky.; her maternal grandmother, Hattie Elliston of West Liberty, Ky.; her paternal grandmother, Ada Wagner of Sydney, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Lewis Wagner; and her maternal grandfather, Logan Elliston.
Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Visitation is 1 p.m. until time of services on June 3 at the funeral home.

Thomas F. Polley
July 4, 1932 – May 31, 2009
Thomas F. Polley, 76, of Markleville, died May 31 at his home.
He was born July 4, 1932, in Hancock County, a son of the late Frank and Stella (Short) Polley.
Mr. Polley retired from Western Electric, was a lifelong farmer and an avid horseman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Gala (Smith) Polley of Markleville; two daughters, Sandy (husband, Rick) Arnold of Greenfield and Penny (husband, Gary) Goudy of Shirley; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lucy Rogers, Lela Raikes, Marie Buckman, Dorothy Moore and Frances Macy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Polley; a daughter, Darla L. Braden; a brother, Charles Polley; and two sisters, Laura Morgan and Juanita Nigh.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Ted Hagel officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 at the funeral home.

Haskel Back
June 14, 1921 – June 1, 2009
Haskel Back, 87, of Carthage, died June 1 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.
He was born June 14, 1921, in Olive Hill, Ky., a son of the late Taylor and Mary Back.
Mr. Back retired from Container Corporation in Carthage after 17 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, playing guitar, family cookouts, music and his church, Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church in Knightstown.
Survivors include his wife, June (Owens) Back of Carthage; three sons, Stanley (wife, Judy) Back of Shirley, Stirl Back of Knightstown and Billy (wife, Gretchen) Back of Knightstown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation is 4-8 p.m.. Friday, June 5, at the funeral home.

Johnny Erasmo Castellanos
May 31, 1983 – June 12, 2009
Johnny Erasmo Castellanos, 26, of Kennard, died June 12 at his home.
He was born May 31, 1983 in Honduras.
Mr. Castellanos was known as an extremely friendly person who enjoyed music and video games. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Karen Harwood of Kennard; four brothers, David Smith, Jeremy (wife, Jennifer) Harwood, Austin Harwood and Ray Harwood; two nieces, Kylee and Kayla Harwood; a nephew, Drew Harwood; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pearl Stephens.
Funeral services were June 16 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Dillard Cole officiating. Burial followed at Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro. Visitation was June 16 at the funeral home.

Louise Roy
May 5, 1932 – June 11, 2009
Louise Roy, 77, of Knightstown, died June 11 at her home.
She was born May 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Dora Thelma (Wilson) Gosser.
She was a member of Community Baptist Church and a former member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include three children, Carolyn Eulett of Vanceburg, Ky., Larry (wife, Cathy) Roy of Knightstown and Elmer (wife, Carla) Roy, Jr., of Bargersville; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward E. Gosser; and a sister, Una Delle Hansford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Adams Roy; two brothers, Jahue and Wilden Gosser; and two sisters, Anna Lou Harrell and Marilyn Joy Roy.
Funeral services were June 15 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Danny Shelton officiating.
Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was June 15 at the funeral home.
George H. Wilson
Apr. 27, 1917 – June 13, 2009
George Henry Wilson, 92, of Lebanon, formerly of New Castle, died June 13 at Parkwood Healthcare in Lebanon.
He was born April 27, 1917, in New Cumberland, Pa., a son of the late G.W.H. Wilson and Sudie (Brinton) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson retired from Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis after 36 years of service, part of which he served as assistant vice president of the cash department and armored car paying and receiving. He was a graduate of New Cumberland (Pa.) High School and Thompson’s Business College in New Cumberland. Mr. Wilson served as staff sergeant in the Army Air Force 9th Troop Carrier Command from 1942-1946 and was based at Stout Field in Indianapolis.
Mr. Wilson was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite N.M.J. Valley of Indianapolis. He was also a member of Southport Lodge #270 F&AM, as well as the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include two sons, William F. (wife, Esther) Wilson of Indianapolis and James G. (wife, Beverly) Wilson of Knightstown; four grandchildren, Rachel of Indianapolis, Christopher (wife, Donna) of Greenfield, Michael of Kendallville and Emily (husband, Dan) Pyle of Bloomington; a great-granddaughter, Cecilia Wilson; a brother-in-law, William Zix of Indianapolis; and a niece, Jane (husband, Robert) Rosenthal of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Armilla (Zix) Wilson; his second wife, Bee T. (Butler) Wilson; two brothers, James and Russell; and a sister, Mary, all of New Cumberland.
Funeral services were June 16 at Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center in Indianapolis with Rev. Esther Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
