Robin Rea "Robo" Smith, 55, of Indianapolis, died Aug. 12.
He was born July 22, 1956, in Rushville, a son of Merritt W. "Redd" Smith of Plymouth and Sally E. (Land) Smith of Knightstown.
His family lived in Knightstown for five years, and moved to Indianapolis in 1961. He attended John Strange Elementary, Northview Junior High School, North Central High School and Indiana University. He worked for the Carter-Lee Lumber Co., Hall & House Lumber Co., Furrow Building Materials, Morgan-Wightman Supply Co., Advance Printing Co., Specialty Coating Systems, and, most recently, Thermal Structures. Mr. Smith was a member of ABATE of Indiana, the Harley Owners Group (HOG), the American Legion Riders Post 34, the Fukarwee Tribe, and the Bored Meeting.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Carson C. (wife, Patty) Smith; nephew Alexander C. (wife, Steffanie) St. John; and nieces Sara and Liddy St. John.
Visitation is Aug. 19 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services are at 8 p.m. on Aug. 19 in the veterans room and solarium at Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary of Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave. in Indianapolis. The dress code for visitation and the funeral service will be motorcycle apparel or business casual.

Robin Rea "Robo" Smith, 55, of Indianapolis, died Aug. 12.

Teresa C. (Jackson) Jarvis
November 3, 1962 – August 11, 2011
Teresa C. (Jackson) Jarvis, 48, of Knightstown, died Aug. 11 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
She was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Rushville, a daughter of Robert A. Jackson and Barbara (Stevens) Craig.
She was a member of the Henry County Saddle Club. Mrs. Jarvis enjoyed cooking, photography, horses, flowers, traveling and all kinds of animals.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Jarvis of Knightstown; a daughter, Amber Jarvis of Noblesville; a grand- daughter, Haley Neel; her mother, Barbara Craig of Knightstown; brothers Steve (wife, Sandy) Jackson of Carthage and Jim (wife, Sherri) Jackson of New Castle; sister Debi Jackson of Indianapolis; step-sister Cindy (husband, Mike) Murphy of Andalusia, Ala.; step-brother Mark (wife, KC) Merritt of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; step-father David L. Craig; step-mother Ruby (Goble) Jackson; and a step-brother, Lonnie Merritt.
Visitation and funeral services were Aug. 14 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating.

Maxine M. Riggs
November 13, 1915 - August 15, 2011
Maxine M. Riggs, 95, of Carthage, died Aug. 15 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Rush County, a daughter of the late Russell R. and Margaret (Vanduyn) Reddick.
Mrs. Riggs was a Carthage High School graduate and a member of East Street Christian Church. She was a member of CWA and Friendly Circle in Charlottesville. A homemaker, Mrs. Riggs was a longtime babysitter for many families in the Carthage area. Survivors include a brother, Eugene Reddick; two grandchildren, Kevin Gabbard and Krista Gabbard; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Cory and Brady Gabbard; a great-great-grandchild, Isabell Gabbard; a niece, Rhonda Zimmerman; and two great-nieces, Amanda and Emily Zimmerman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Lee Gabbard.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, Aug. 20.
Betty L. Ellis
April 11, 1923 - August 18, 2011
Betty L. Ellis, 88, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Knightstown, died Aug. 18 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born April 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Donald and Beatrice (Hunt) Ruby.
Mrs. Ellis attended Carthage High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was a lifelong homemaker who was known as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Ellis was a member of South Side Christian Church and an inactive member of Center Christian Church. She was also a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary. Mrs. Ellis was an avid artist who enjoyed painting.
Survivors include a son, Brian C. (wife, Kathy) Ellis of Spiceland; four grandchildren, Dawnuell H. Ellis of Carthage, Cary B. (wife, Jessica) Ellis of Knightstown, Devin C. Ellis of Indianapolis and Molly K. Ellis of Indianapolis; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max G. Ellis; a brother, Clyde E. Ruby; and a son, Cary L. Ellis.
Graveside funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. A memorial service will follow at Sugarbaker's in Knightstown. Cary Ellis will serve as speaker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the art departments at Knightstown Elementary School or Tri Junior- Senior High School.
Erma E. Elliott
July 17, 1938 – August 21, 2011
Erma E. Elliott, 73,of Knightstown, died Aug. 21, at Hancock Regional Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1938, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ernest and Lila E. (Plank) McRoberts.
A lifelong resident of the Knightstown area, Mrs. Elliott graduated from Knightstown High School in 1956. She retired from DMG World Media in 2009 after 24 years of service. She was a member of Knightstown Christian Church and Psi Iota Xi – Gamma Eta Chapter at Knightstown. She enjoyed knitting, making flower arrangements, working in her flower garden, bowling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald K. (Ronny) Elliott of Knightstown; five daughters, Cindy (husband, Marvn) Rees of Glenwood, Cynthia (husband, Mike) Gasper of Westport, Rhonda (husband, Anthony) Tompkins of Shirley, and Melissa Elliott and Natalie Elliott, both of Knightstown; one son, Kevin (wife, Pam) Elliott of Ogden; two sisters, Peggy (husband, Pete) Williams of Knightstown and Bonnie (husband, Harold) Bailey of Niles, Mich.; one brother, Ed (wife, Ann) McRoberts of Muncie; 13 grand- children, Brad Elliott of Shirley, Jessica (husband, David) Raynard of Indianapolis, Britney Tompkins of Lewisville, Paul Gasper of Westport, Krista (husband, Randy) Gilbert of Anderson, Katie Tompkins of Greenfield, Corrine Rees of Glenwood, Jake Tompkins of Shirley, Loys Rees of Glenwood, Abby Moles of Knightstown, Cordell Elliott of New Castle, Solomon Rees of Glenwood and Gavin Elliott of Knightstown; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra Gilbert of Anderson and Waylon Key of Greenfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest McRoberts, Jr.
Visitation is Aug. 24 from 4-8 p.m. and funeral services are Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Knightstown Christian Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
Mary A. Goodlin
May 18, 1922 – August 18, 2011
Mary A. Goodlin, 89, Ogden, died Aug. 18 at Hancock Regional Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1922, in Ogden, a daughter of the late David Alfred and Ruby (Reid) Longwell.
Mrs. Goodlin was a member of Ogden United Methodist Church where she was an active choir member. She was formerly employed at Wal-Mart in Greenfield. She loved gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Vallee of Washington; granddaughter Lisa Goodlin-Saenz; nieces Carolyn (husband, Glenn) Stoten of Ogden and Priscilla (husband, Dennis) Shumaker of San Antonio, Texas; great-nephews Vince Shumaker of Indianapolis, Phillip Stoten of Missouri and Tim Howard and Terry Howard of Shirley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her hus- band, Charles Goodlin; two step- sons, Robert and John Goodlin; two sisters, Catherine Howard and Louise Dean; three brothers, John, Charles and Pete Longwell; and nephew Paul Howard.
Visitation and funeral services were Aug. 23 at Ogden United Methodist Church with Pastor Carolyn Stoten officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
