Sarah Marie York, 82, formerly of Rushville and Carthage, died June 22 at Morristown Manor.
She was born April 8, 1929, in Raleigh, a daughter of the late Cornelius G. and Nettie (Hardwick) Lovall.
She attended Carthage High School. Mrs. York was a homemaker and a member of Martha Poe Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki (husband, Mike) Turner of Rushville and Patty (hus- band, Ray) Gillam of Knightstown; two sons, Darrell York of Connersville and Roger (wife, Betty) York of Spencer, New York; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton York; one daughter, Deborah Blank; and 11 siblings.
Funeral services were June 27 at Carthage Riverside Cemetery with Ray Gillam officiating. Arrangements were made by Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory in Rushville.
Donna Scherer
June 7, 1937 – June 18, 2011
Donna Scherer, 74, of Knightstown, died June 18 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born June 7, 1937, in Taylorville, Ill., a daughter of the late Roy and Maude (Hummer) Pierce.
Mrs. Scherer was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael (wife, Judy) Scherer of Glen Rock, Pa.; daughters Gail (husband, Chas.) Utley of Tulsa and Joanne (husband, Donald) House of Knightstown; grandchildren Lutsia Pantelogainis of Tulsa, Jeanette (husband, Billy) Scherer of Taylorville, Donny (wife, Holly) Scherer of Springfield, Ill., Ann, Kimberly and Laura House of Indianapolis, Cassandra and Joshua House of Knightstown, and Dakota Scherer of Glen Rock, Pa.; great-grandchildren Paige, Rilley, Reiss, Preston, Meah, Macy and Shea; a sister, Brenda (husband, Ray) Ciuffetilli of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, William (wife, Julie) Pierce of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Scherer.
Visitation and funeral services were June 22 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, Ill. Pastor Philip Neumann officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
Robert Edward Caudill
February 20, 1935 - July 1, 2011
Robert Edward Caudill, 76, of Louisville, Ky., died July 1 at the Episcopal Church Home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Morehead, Ky., a son of the late Charles C. and Ida (Quesenberry) Caudill.
Mr. Caudill was raised in Knightstown. He was a retired sales manager for Allstate Insurance Company. He served in the U.S. Army and attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Mr. Caudill was also a member of Wildwood Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (Dresel) Caudill; two children, Emily (husband, Rich) Joesting and Michael (wife, Tracy) Caudill; two grandsons, Ryan and Reed Joesting; a brother, Isaac Caudill of Winchester, Ky.; a sister, Anna Lewman of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon Cox, Earl Caudill, Les Caudill and Charles Caudill, Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy Basford and Anetia Shore.
Funeral services were July 6 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Louisville. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation was July 5 at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home in Westport Village, Ky.
Daniel White
September 5, 1966 – June 30, 2011
Daniel White, 44, of Shirley, died June 30 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 5, 1966 in Kankakee, Ill., a son of the late Raymond and Thelma (Lavallie) White.
Mr. White had been a member of Eagles Lodge in New Castle. He enjoyed NASCAR races, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Jacob White of Mooreland and Caleb White of Shirley; a stepson, Tony Ross of Shirley; former wife Jennifer Thompson (husband, Richard); sisters Paula (husband, Robert) Anderson of Gilman, Ill., Bonnie (husband, Jacob) Rexroad of Pontiac, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald White, and a nephew, P. J. Conley.

Barbara L. McKee
March 5, 1932 – June 22, 2011
Barbara L. McKee, 79, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, died June 22 at her home.
She was born March 5, 1932, in Knightstown, a daughter of the late Maurice Rupert and Iva (Warrick) Lukens.
Mrs. McKee was a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church for over 40 years. She was known as a friendly and caring person.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Virgil F. McKee; children Kim McKee of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael McKee of Hilliard, Ohio; a grandson, Eli McKee of Columbus, Ohio; brother Jim (wife, Rita) Lukens of Knightstown; sisters Gloria Jean Thorpe of Eaton, Ohio, Mary Lou (husband, Sam) Gray of Carthage, Donna Kay (husband, John) Gaither of New Castle, Linda (husband, Ron) Gatewood of Warrenton, Va., and Lori Chew of Knightstown; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Lukens, and a sister, Candi Lukens.
Visitation was June 24 and funeral services were June 25 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Ulring officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery. Schoedinger Northwest Chapel in Columbus, Ohio, was in charge of arrangements.

Bradley S. Steimel
April 2, 1975 - July 11, 2011
Bradley S. Steimel, 36, of Knightstown, died July 11 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born April 2, 1975, in Indianapolis, a son of Stephen and Annette (Robertson) Steimel.
Mr. Steimel was a 1994 Eastern Hancock High School graduate. He worked at Service Engineering in Greenfield for 16 years before moving to Hoosier Feeder in Knightstown, where he worked as a machine builder. Mr. Steimel enjoyed camping and motorsports, including four-wheelers, motor bikes and remote control cars.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Steimel of Knightstown; a son, Hunter Steimel of Knightstown; his parents, Steve and Annette Steimel of Greenfield; a sister, Elissa (husband, Tim) Gordon of Greenfield; his grandparents, Joe and Judy Steimel of Indianapolis and Charles Robertson of McCordsville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dick and Sheryl Mosier of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Rita (husband, Neil) Deckard of Oxford; two nieces, Lily and Hannah; and two nephews, Nolan and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Selma Steimel and Luverne Robertson.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with Pastor Adam Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 15, at the funeral home.

Marcella Higgins
November 23, 1926 – July 18, 2011
Marcella Higgins, 84, of Knightstown, died July 18 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Hartford City to the late Jim and Thelma Covill.
Mrs. Higgins was a homemaker and an avid bingo player. She attended church at Regency Place.
Survivors include one daughter, Roxane (husband, Robert) Polk of Knightstown; a granddaughter, Barbara Snyder of Martinsville; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Higgins; and a half-brother, Orville Todd.
Visitation is July 20 at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be July 21 at 10 a.m. at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with Gary Sickle officiating.
