Elsie A. Ellinghausen
Elsie A. Ellinghausen, 92, of Manchester, born January 17, 1907, in Weisburg, the daughter of Ed and Elizabeth Neiman, both deceased. She married Albert G. Ellinghausen on February 6, 1927 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1975.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Ruth and Howard Jenner of Sunman; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Arlene Ellinghausen of Sunman, Albert, Jr., and Juanita Ellinghausen of Ross, OH., Harold and Helen Ellinghausen of Batesville and son: Delmar "Ike" Ellinghausen of Manchester; one sister: Mabel Dearwester of Port Charlotte, FL.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law: Donna (Mrs. Delmar) Ellinghausen; two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Ellinghausen was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Manchester.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, at the Cook Funeral Home, Sunman with Dr. Daniel Leigh Nugent officiating.
Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.

Gilbert A. Meer
Gilbert A. Meer, 63, of Batesville, born August 24, 1936, in Franklin County, the son of Frank Meer and Ethel Linda Lamping Meer, both deceased. He married Judy Schroeder Meer on April 28, 1962 at St. Louis Church in Batesville and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter: Mindy Andrews of Lebanon; one son: Tim Meer of Atlanta, GA.; one sister: Ethel Rose Haskamp of Batesville; one granddaughter: Amanda Bauman of Brookville; one grandson: Jason Bauman of Brookville and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by one son: Troy Meer and two grandchildren: Conner and Kelsey Andrews.
Mr. Meer worked in the maintenance department of American Life Co. in Greensburg where he retired in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Family Church and was a Navy Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, at the Holy Family Church, Oldenburg with Rev. Sylvester Heppner, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Oldenburg.

Nioma Ann Nickel, 86, of Batesville, born July 19, 1913, in Batesville, the daughter of John C. and Anna (Huffmeyer) Selke, both deceased. She married Stanton Nickel of Evansville on July 19, 1932 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Batesville and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1962.
Survivors include her daughter: Elizabeth Nickel of Richmond; two sons: Robert Nickel of Muncie, William Nickel of Bever Creek, OH.; two brothers: Nelson and Melvin Selke of Batesville; one sister: Ruth Bland of Batesville; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl, Lester and Irvin Selke.
Mrs. Nickel was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 348, Batesville; a past Worthy Matron; past president of Ripley County Home Extension. She was active in both Brownie Scouts and Cub Scouts and also Mother Advisor and Grand Cross of Color of the Rainbow Girls.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, at the St. Mark Lutheran Church, Batesville with Rev. David Vasquez officiating.
Burial was in the St. John Cemetery, Huntersville.

Daniel Faulkner Jr.
Daniel Faulkner Jr., 55, of Moores Hill, born April 22, 1944, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Daniel and Isabel (Hudson) Faulkner Sr. He married Virginia (Rineair) Faulkner on April 25, 1964 and she survives.
Other survivors include his one son: Daniel Faulkner of Moores Hill; four daughters: Ginger Jedding and Cathy Lows both of Aurora, Dee Russell and Terry Faulkner both of Moores Hill; two brothers: Robert Faulkner and Ted Faulkner both of Ohio; one sister: Joanne Miller of Ohio and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Faulkner was a press operator for Formica Corp., Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of the Moores Hill Sons of the American Legion and the Fire Brigade at the Formica Corp.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home.

Estelle Brower, 95, of Versailles, born June 29, 1904, in Holton, the daughter of Charles F. Whalbring and Anna Schweigler Whalbring, both deceased. She married Avery Brower and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include her two sons: Rev. Dwight Brower and wife, Virginia of Bartow, FL, Avery Brower Jr., and wife, Elverda of Lakeland, FL; two daughters: Ruth Walsh and husband, John Leslie of Holton, Joyce Hardy and husband, Joseph of Ft. Defiance, AZ; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one son: Charles and four brothers: August, Victor, Jacob and Harry Whalbring. Mrs. Brower was a housewife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Lakeland, FL.

Howard C. Hughes, 86, of Cincinnati, OH, born November 24, 1912, in Springfield, MI, the son of Charles P. and Joanna Raines Hughes, both deceased.
Survivors include his half-sister: Henrietta Noe of Lancaster, KY; half-brother: Leonard Kirby of Lancaster, KY; sister-in-law: Ruth Hughes of Osgood and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Gladys; one sister: Thelma Hughes and one brother: Arthur Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was a master baker for several bakeries and a former owner of his own bakery.

June Bowling, 72, of Moores Hill, born April 13, 1927, in Booneville, KY, the daughter of Walker and Allie (Ball) Helton, both deceased. She married Oakley Bowling of Moores Hill on June 15, 1961 and he survives.

Kenneth Earl Nordloh
Kenneth Earl Nordloh, 89, of Osgood, born December 22, 1909, in Osgood, the son of John and Minnie Sparling Nordloh. He married Emily April Nordloh and she preceded him in death. He then married Jane Rolf Nordloh and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his seven step-sons: George Rolf and Walter Rolf both of Indianapolis, John Rolf of California, Philip Rolf of Jamestown, Aaron Rolf of Milan, Tony Rolf of Versailles, Jim Rolf of Osgood; one step-daughter: Sara Boyd; four nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Nordloh was a farmer all of his life in Osgood. He drove a school bus for 25 years for Osgood and Jac-Cen-Del schools. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Osgood/Versailles for 50 years. He was a member of the Osgood Christian Church.

Rachel Siekerman, 88, of Friendship, born February 29, 1912 in Aurora the daughter of William Benning and Mary Snyder Benning, both deceased. She married Victor Siekerman and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Oberndorfer of El Paso, TX, one sister, Jeanette Dean of Traverse City, Michigan and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaylord and Harland Benning and one sister, Lela Miller.
Mrs. Siekerman owned and operated Siekerman's General Store in Friendship. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dewberry.

Alma Scholle, 94, of Osgood, born September 9, 1905 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Harry and Anna Robbe Ruther, both deceased. She married Martin Herman Scholle on May 27, 1939 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1980.
Survivors include four sons, Jerome Scholle of South Bend, Robert J. Scholle of Los Gatos, CA, Paul M. Scholle of Osgood, Phillip S. Scholle of Fort Wayne, one brother, Sylvester Ruther of Cincinnati, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Scholle, two brothers, and three sisters.
Mrs. Scholle helped her husband with their farm. She was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church, Napoleon.

Anna V. McKinley, 86, of Versailles, born January 12, 1914 in Bennington the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Krause) O'Neal. She married William T. McKinley on October 3, 1930 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1963.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Charlie Bill McKinley of Moores Hill, Duane McKinley of Lake Santee, three daughters, Virginia Race of Milan, Vickie Antras of Versailles, Lenda Ratliff of Greensburg, one sister, Evelyn Mockbee of Dillsboro, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Raymond, Ronnie and Kenneth McKinley, two brothers, Harry and Leon O'Neal, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Mrs. McKinley was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hope Baptist Church, Dillsboro. She also served as a foster grandparent at Muscatatuck State Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Steven Donawerth of Harrison, OH, four daughters, Karen Gordon of Aurora, Connie Holaday of Harrison, OH, Cathy Parsley of West Harrison, Rhonda Bradley of Sunman, one brother, Paul Donawerth of West Harrison, one sister, Annie McCracken of Harrison, OH, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Donawerth, Clifford Donawerth and two sisters, Mabel Bachman and Esther Hollins.
Mr. Donawerth retired from US Shoe in Harrison, OH.

Sr. Alma Olivia Scheidler
Sr. Alma Olivia Scheidler, 92, of Oldenburg, formerly of Sr. Mary Antonita, born November 24, 1907 in Millhousen the daughter of Anthony Scheidler and Seraphine (Hardebeck) Scheidler, both deceased.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins including Sr. Jonette Scheidler, O.S.F. of Greensburg and Sr. Janice Scheidler, O.S.F. of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Feldman and Leona Kuhlman.
Sr. Scheidler was a teacher who taught at various places throughout Ohio and Indiana. She entered the convent on June 13, 1929 and made her final vows on January 6, 1936. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1990.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, September 19, 1-3 p.m. at Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg.

Charles Edward Spurlock, 42, of Sunman, born April 7, 1958 in Batesville the son of A.C. and Gracie (Grimes) Spurlock. He married Barbara Koch on April 16, 1988 in Penntown and she survives.
Other survivors include his father, A.C. Spurlock, two sons, C.J. and Rich Spurlock and one daughter, Nicole Spurlock all living at home and one sister, Anna Terril of Moores Hill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Spurlock.
Mr. Spurlock was a hardware hanger at Batesville Casket Co. He was a member of the Pipe Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Penntown.

Mr. Laaker was a truck driver. He served in the Army and was a member of the Northcutt-Laaker American Legion.

John Michael Hartman
John Michael Hartman, 88, of Morris, born November 19, 1911 in New Alsace the son of Henry and Ida (Briggs) Hartman, both deceased. He married Martha E. Weisenbach at St. Anthony Church, Morris, on November 20, 1937 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, John A. Hartman and one daughter Elizabeth Ann Stenger both of Morris, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Hartman, two brothers, Robert and Elmer Hartman and two sisters, Emma Hoff and Cora Mann.
Mr. Hartman was a life long farmer on his own farm. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Morris.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 2, 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Morris with Msgr. Bernard Schmidt officiating.

Funeral services for Melody Dawn Block, 45, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Dillsboro, was at 11 a.m. at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Visitation was Sunday, 6-8 p.m. with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery.
Ms. Block died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. He was Cemetery with military honors conducted at graveside by the Fort Knox and Vevay American Legion and VFW.

Sylvester "Boots" Bay
Sylvester "Boots" Bay, 89, born June 21, 1911 in Brown County. His parents were Louis and Thurisa (Wayman) Bay. He married Mary Ruth Paige on June 13, 1942. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1975. He then married Mae Medaris on July 22, 1976. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1987.
Survivors include three step-daughters, Barbara Bell of Gosport, Roberta Brandenburg of Branson, MO, and Kathy Clark of Jamestown, a sister-in-law, Marilynn Bay of Whiteland, and nephew, William L. Bay Jr. of Whiteland, and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ira Bay, Raymond Bay, Kenneth Bay and William Bay and a sister, Annie DeBurger.
He was employed for 7 years by Autumn Care of Clarks Creek in Plainfield as a maintenance worker having retired in 1987.
He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #107, Franklin Chapter OES #439, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and life member of Franklin VFW Post #2552.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII in the European Theater.
Brother Larry McAdams will conducted the funeral services Saturday, September 30, 10:30 a.m. in Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin.

Mary Jarvis
Mary Jarvis, 75, of Madison, formerly of Versailles, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. She was died Thursday, August 9, 2001. She was born November 19, 1912 in Indianapolis the daughter of Vincent and Lillian DeWilliams Ruggieri, both deceased. She married Virgil J. "Jack" Clark and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1988.
Survivors include one son, Jack Clark of Milan, two daughters, Joan Marie Tanksley of Connersville, Christine Sue Hyatt of Texas, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters and one great-granddaughter, Jillian Brandes.
Mrs. Clark had lived in Liberty for 52 years prior to moving to Milan in 1988. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Liberty and it's altar society. She graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted today, Tuesday, August 14, 10 a.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Liberty, with Father John O'Brien officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Memories mausoleum in Connersville.
