Virgil Perkinson
Virgil Perkinson, 85, of Holton, born January 13, 1917 in Paris Crossing the son of Noah Perkinson and Gertrude Stonehouse, both deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald E. Perkinson of Madison, Thomas Perkinson of New Mexico, one sister, Marjorie Schmidlap of Kent, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Hicks and Marie Montgomery and four brothers, Lawrence, Forest, Bill and Ernest Perkinson.
Mr. Perkinson was a retired farmer and machinist at Decatur Mold in North Vernon. He was a member of the Nebraska Church of God and also a Navy veteran of WWII.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 6, 10 a.m. at Nebraska Church of God.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Patrick Harrigan officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Jefferson County. Memorials may go to the Nebraska Church of God.

Robert Schuck, 46, of New Point, born December 9, 1955 in Royal Oak, Michigan the son of Stanley and Luella Slattery Schuck. He married Rosie Blair and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Luella Schuck of Brookville, one daughter, Brittany Cline of Batesville, two sons, Kevin and Darrin McGuire of Brookville, four sisters, Betty L. Shivers of Brookville, Julie Crowe of Casselberry, FL, Gerri Lucas of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Patty Reese of Brookville, four brothers, James Schuck of Casselberry, FL, David Schuck of Brookville, John Schuck of Connersville, Bill Schuck of Rockport and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Schuck, one sister, Pauline Parsons and one brother, Donald P. Schuck. Mr. Schuck was a maintenance staff member at Indian Lakes Resort near Batesville.

Carol Bernice Clark
Carol Bernice Clark, 83, of Greensburg, born December 24, 1918 in Decatur County the daughter of William Clyde Ferris and Berniece Ryle, both deceased. She married Francis M. Clark on August 13, 1935 in Decatur County and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1990.
Survivors include one son, William Fredrick Clark and wife Brenda of Greensburg and one granddaughter, Anita (Mrs. Ryan) Lawrence of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Clark attended Marion Twp. and Greensburg grade schools. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years, a 50 year member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge #148, Lois Chapter #147, O.E.S. and Decatur County Rural Couples Club. She was a 1935 graduate of Greensburg High School and attended Southern Ohio Business College in Cincinnati, OH.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, 5-7 p.m. at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Blazier officiating.

Ilene Rayner, 75, of Osgood, born March 21, 1927 in Indianapolis the daughter of George and Mary (Eulliss) Croxton, both deceased. She married Lawrence W. Rayner on July 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mitchell (Kim) Brown of Osgood, Mrs. Janet Weiberg of Los Angeles, CA, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Rayner.
Mrs. Rayner was the former owner of Four Corners Restaurant in Milan.

Robert "Bobby" F. Clark>
Robert "Bobby" F. Clark, 37, of Dillsboro, born September 1, 1965 in Lawrenceburg the son of Earl Robert Clark and Martha Kay Smith and they survive.
Other survivors include two sons, Matthew and Andrew Clark, both of Dillsboro, two daughters, Amber and Samantha Clark, both of Dillsboro, one sister, Kristy Clark Hardy of Noblesville, and paternal grandfather, Hank Clark of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Juanita Clark and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Cozzie Smith.
Mr. Clark was a carpenter for 18 years. He was a member of Carpenter and Millwright Union Local 1142 of Lawrenceburg.

Philomene M. "Phil" Ollier
Philomene M. "Phil" Ollier, 93, of Batesville, born February 2, 1909 in Batesville the daughter of John Ollier and Louisa Werner Ollier, both deceased.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Bernetta Ollier of Batesville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Walke and five brothers, John, Raymond, Albert, Elmer and Robert "Bugs" Ollier.
Ms. Ollier was the co-owner of Al & Phil's Market during the 1920's and 1930's after which she worked as a sales clerk at Schultz/Nolte's Pharmacy in Batesville. She was a member of St. Louis Church in Batesville.

Lonnie L. Adkins
Lonnie L. Adkins, 75, of North Vernon, born in Versailles on April 20, 1927 the son of Lawrence and Florence Kraut Adkins, both deceased. He married Ruth Everett on July 12, 1974 and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Houser and husband Luther of North Vernon, Debra Seeley and husband Richard of Holton, three sons, Darrell Hodge and wife Paula of Colorado, Matt Adkins of North Vernon, Ronnie Adkins of Virginia and one brother, Don Adkins of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry, one granddaughter, Josie Rana Clayton and one brother, William.
Mr. Adkins was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground where he worked in demolition. He was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and the Versailles American Legion.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, December 3, 11 a.m. at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Charles Cole officiating.
Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with military graveside rites conducted by the Versailles American Legion.

Carl Lee Heck
Carl Lee Heck of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Milan, born January 9, 1912 in New Castle. He married Constance Botting Heck and she preceded him in death. He then married Mary B. Young Heck and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Joan Heck Morris of Brookville, one son, James P. Heck of Richmond, VA, three stepsons, John, James and Jeffery Young, twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Carl Lee Heck, Jr.
Mr. Heck was a U.S.A.F. (Major) veteran of WWII and Korean War, a retired Cincinnati school teacher, a graduate of University of Dayton and Salmon P. Chase Law School, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Cincinnati School Master's Bowling Association.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 2, 12:30 p.m. at Twin Towers Wilson Chapel in Cincinnati, OH.

Barbara S. Roark
Barbara S. Roark, 59, of Williams, born July 7, 1943 in Madison the daughter of Robert Welch and Olive Washburn Welch. She married Charles Roark and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Survivors include her mother, Olive Welch, one son, Hubert Popp of Osgood, two daughters, Carol Garriott of Medora, Gina Jones of New Whiteland, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Roark was the assistant manager at P.T.S. in Bloomington. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Sunman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 30 at Little Memory Church in Sunman with Bro. Charles Stephan, Bro. Ross Right and Bro. Bill Tagger officiating.

Rickie Darlene (Palmer) McKittrick
Rickie Darlene (Palmer) McKittrick, 58, of Moores Hill, born May 5, 1944 in Milan the daughter of Darrell Palmer and Laverne (Schmaltz) Palmer. She married David McKittrick on July 26, 1963 and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Laverne Palmer of Milan, two sons, Scott Alan McKittrick and wife Kristy of Noblesville, Jason Wade McKittrick and wife Julie of Holton, one granddaughter, Payton Brooke McKittrick of Noblesville, one sister, Francis Casson of Middletown, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKittrick was a 1962 graduate of Milan High School and had attended business college in Cincinnati, OH. She was a homemaker and retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground after 15 years as a technical publications writer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milan.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 30, 11 a.m. at the Milan First Baptist Church with Rev. Harris Long officiating.

Anna Frances Bohman
Anna Frances Bohman, 86, of Batesville, born September 19, 1916 in Falmouth, KY the daughter of George L. Daugherty and Julia Crawford Daugherty, both deceased. She married Elmer "Tag" Bohman on May 7, 1938 at St. Louis Church and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1988.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Ollier of Dayton, OH, Jeanne Obermeyer of Oldenburg, Margaret Simpkinson of Walton, KY, one son, Jerry Bohman of Frankfort, KY, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Lipps, five sisters, Janeta Gauck, Marcella Gigrich, Stella Patton, Pauline Huser, Lilly Fenske and one son, George T. Daugherty.
Mrs. Bohman worked in the dietary department at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was a member of St. Louis Church in Batesville where she was a greeter, a member of St. Louis Bereavement Committee and a member of the Golden Citizens Club.

Virgil Carroll, 91, of Osgood, born September 8, 1911 in the Ripley County the son of Clarison and Mabel Bowers Carroll, both deceased. He married Opal Fisher Ward Carroll on November 23, 1949 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sisters, Esther Agatha Carroll of Indianapolis, Mary Elizabeth Self of Indianapolis, one brother, Robert Burtch of Indianapolis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carroll was a farmer most of his life and he was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

Elaine Schroder Diem
Elaine Schroder Diem, 76, of Osgood, born in Indianapolis on April 7, 1926 the daughter of Irving H. and Kathleen Palmer Schroder, both deceased. She married Norman Diem on December 21, 1946 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Ronald W. Diem and wife Mary of Lafayette, one daughter, Jacqueline E. Layton and husband Charles of Noblesville, one grandson, Robert Pipes and wife Sara of Rochelle, IL and one great-grandson, Austin Hanson.
Mrs. Diem, along with her husband, owned and operated Osgood Frozen Foods for 23 years retiring in 1987. She was also a homemaker and gave piano lessons for several years. She was a member of Osgood United Methodist Church, a past member of Delta Rho Tri Kappa, a past member of the Osgood chapter of Eastern Star and a 1944 graduate of Osgood High School.

Leon "Lynn" J. Eaton
Leon "Lynn" J. Eaton, 93, of Osgood, born August 23, 1909 in Napoleon the son of James and Sarah Florence Lehman Eaton, both deceased. He married Thelma Mae Osborn on May 19, 1934 in Adams and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry Eaton of Versailles, James Rodney Eaton of Batesville, Gene Eaton of Napoleon, one sister, Cora Olive Wright of Anderson, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Eaton was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Osgood and also the Osgood Masonic Lodge #603.

Doris Ann Wendel
Doris Ann Wendel, 66, of Klemmes Corner, born October 27, 1936 in Youngs Corner the daughter of Frank and Thelma Hertel Hofer. She married Harold W. Wendel on June 9, 1956 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Harrison, OH and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and John Flaspohler of Batesville, one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Shelia Wendel of Klemmes Corner, her mother, Thelma Hofer Gutzwiller of Brookville, one sister, Martha Sampson of Brookville, three brothers, Arnold Hofer of Brookville, Harold Hofer and Lyle Hofer of Liberty and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hofer and one son, Donald Wendel.
Mrs. Wendel was a homemaker. She as an active member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Klemmes Corner.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville and Thursday, February 13, 1 p.m. until time of service at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Klemmes Corner.

Orville F. Norman
Orville F. Norman, 82, of Milan, born September 6, 1920 in Liberty, KY the son of Alvin and Dora (Hampton) Norman, both deceased. He married Maxine Garrett on February 12, 1944 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Aaron Dwayne (wife Bertha) Norman of Milan, David (wife Shelly) Norman of Plymouth, two daughters, Mrs. Art (Rita) Tebelman of Milan, Mrs. Stan (Melinda) Blanken of Batesville, one brother, Vernon Norman of Cincinnati, OH, one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Trotto of Aurora, fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Myra Sorber and Rosemary Norman, one brother, Zelmer Norman and one sister, Nita Norman.
Mr. Norman was a WWII Army veteran having served in the infantry in Normandy. He was a former employee of the Cambell Hospital in Harrison and had been a paint and body repairman for several different car dealerships through the years. He also attended the New Life Southern Baptist Church in Manchester.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 8, 1:30 p.m. at the New Life Southern Baptist Church in Manchester with Pastor Melvin Barrows officiating.
Burial was in Craven Cemetery in Milan with military services conducted by the Milan VFW Post #6234.

Stella Magdalena Elsner Vogel
Stella Magdalena Elsner Vogel, 75, of North Vernon, born December 11, 1927 in Jennings County the daughter of Henry and Rose Megel Elsner, both deceased. She married Edward Vogel on May 21, 1947 and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Theresa Simmons of Seymour, Pamela Cole of Indianapolis, Patricia Cassidy of Shelbyville, three sons, Dennis Vogel and Richard Vogel of North Vernon, Fred Vogel of Seymour, sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ambrose and Moer Elsner, one sister, Irene Vogel and one grandchild, Jacob Vogel.
Mrs. Vogel was a 1945 graduate of Hayden High School. She was a homemaker and a volunteer for SVDP Blood Mobile for 35 years. She was a church volunteer and a member of the Prayer Line, Birth Line, Rosary Society, Jolly 12 Card Club for over 40 years, Tops for 25 years and Cemetery Sexton for over 20 years.
Funeral services will be held today, February 11, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Brown officiating.

Toshiko "Kay" Schmidt
Toshiko "Kay" Schmidt, 69, of Dillsboro, born February 20, 1933 in Ilzuka-Shi, Japan the daughter of Hatsuko Matsubara and she survives. She married Stanley E. Schmidt and he survives. She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include one daughter, Debra Kay Graver of Dillsboro, two sisters, Suzuka Nakoa and Chiyka Nakoa, both of Japan, one son-in-law, Mark Graver of Dillsboro and two grandchildren.

Sr. Carmen Hiebl, OSF
Sr. Carmen Hiebl, OSF, 84, of the Srs. of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg, born December 28, 1918 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of John B. Hiebl and Josephine M. Zuttel Hiebl, both deceased.
She is survived by one sister, Teresa Hiebl. She was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Raab and five brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, Rudolph and Frank Hiebl.
Sr. Hiebl entered the convent on December 30, 1937 and she made her final vows on July 3, 1943. She was a teacher at various schools in Indiana, Missouri and Ohio. She also served as switchboard operator at the Motherhouse from 1975-1994.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 10, 3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Raymar Middendorf, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery in Oldenburg. Memorials may go to the Srs. of St. Francis Convent.

Keith Hull, 84, of Holton, born in the Hopewell community near Holton on January 4, 1919 the son of Golden and Velma Waters Hull, both deceased.
Survivors include one brother, Wayne Hull and wife Carole of Holton, three sisters, Gloria Kitley and husband John of Indianapolis, Zuella McNew and husband Robert of Holton, Phyllis Shaw and husband Phillip of Marysville, one sister-in-law, Jean Hull of North Vernon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Delmar Hull.
Mr. Hull was a farmer. He attended the Hopewell Baptist Church and the Conover School in the Hopewell neighborhood.

Floyd Bud Haessig, 78, of Batesville, born August 2, 1924 in Milan the son of Henry and Carrie Mae (Hillman) Haessig, both deceased. He married Waneta Davis in Batesville on December 25, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 22, 1995.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Haessig and one son, Michael Haessig (Joan), both of Batesville, one sister, Ethel Schrader of Batesville, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two sisters, Clara Goins and Gladys Melchoirre and five brothers, Loren, Clayton, Roy, Norman and Henry Haessig.
Mr. Haessig was a self-employed contractor and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church, American Legion and VFW both of Batesville, D.A.V. of Lawrenceburg and also the 40&8 in Versailles.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 5, 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Batesville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the church at 12 noon with Rev. Charles Flory officiating.

Martha A. Baker, 90, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Dillsboro, born July 24, 1912 in China the daughter of Bertis Francis Siebenthal and Ida Mae Deamaree, both deceased. She married Fred Baker and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Charles E. Baker of Ocala, FL, one daughter, Patricia J. Ganshirt of Sun City Center, FL, six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker was a past elder and clerk of Sessions Hopewell Presbyterian Church, was a 50 year member of the Electa Chapter OES and also operated the Dillsboro Drug Store with her husband for 35 years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 2, 4-8 p.m. at Ulrich Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Eastern Star services being held at 7:30 p.m.

Helen C. Hinman, 84, of New Castle, formerly of Milan, born June 17, 1918 in Pierceville the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Williamson) Schornick, both deceased. She married Edward Hinman on April 21, 1945 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1999.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Slayback of Osgood, Sandy Massengale, Kathy Catron and Sherry Acrey, all of New Castle, two sons, Jim Greenwood of Mt. Summit, Larry Hinman of New Castle, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Hinman, one sister, Hazel Molen and four brothers, Harry, Leroy, Clyde and Earl Schornick.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 2, 12-1 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Myers officiating.
Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may go to the Cancer Fund.
Robert J. Schantz
Robert J. Schantz, 56, of Sunman, born June 2, 1946 in Batesville the son of Jacob and Mabel Kelly Schantz, both deceased.
Survivors include special friend, Brenda Gebhart of Sunman, two aunts, Martha Doll of Batesville and Eva Kelly of Cincinnati, OH and several cousins.
Mr. Schantz retired from farming and also Krogers in Batesville. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace and a member of the NFO, currently serving as president of the Dearborn County NFO.
Funeral mass will be held today, Tuesday, April 1, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace with Rev. William J. Turner officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may go to the St. Paul School or the Cancer Fund.
