MARY JANE FLICK, 65, Georgetown, Cemetery in Georgetown. ELIZABETH L. "BETTY" DAY, 82, New Albany, died Sunday, January 23, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was a retired employee of International Harvester, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, and a member of the VFW New Albany Post. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Michael Senn of Corydon, and Arthur Senn, III of Palmyra; a daughter, Betty Jo Wiseman of Georgetown; three brothers, Frank and Edward Senn, both of Palmyra, and Raymond Senn of DePauw; five sisters, Lillian Jacobi, Phyllis Gettlefinger, Mary Jane Pruitt, and Rose Pruitt, all of Bradford, and Gayle Hammack of DePauw; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, after 8 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. SERENA MAE IRELAND, 25, Charlestown, died Thursday, January 13. Services were held on Friday, January 21, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral home in New Castle, Ky., with burial in New Castle Cemetery. SHIRLEY J. DAVIS, 69, Louisville, died Monday, January 17, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was a native of Clark County, a housewife, and a member of Blue Lick Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Jim Willinger; two daughters, Shana Meuse of North Vernon, and Carla Ferguson of Charlestown; three step-children, Mike Willinger of Marysville, Beth Roberts of Sellersburg, and Paula Bone of Evansville; a brother, Charles Howser of Scottsburg; and eight grandchildren. Services were held on Friday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. SMITH, 77, Sellersburg, died Friday, January 21, at Rolling Hills Healthcare Center in New Albany. She was a native of Pence, and a former clerk for the old Sun Oil Company in Louisville. She is survived by two sons, Leon Rainbolt of Louisville, and Clyde Rainbolt of Sellersburg; a sister, Inez Fellure of Fowler; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held on Monday, January 24, at Sugar Creek Chapel Cemetery near Milford, Ill. Grayson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ROSE STOUT, 80, Salem, died Sunday, January 16, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Scottsburg. She was a native of Burksville, Ky., and was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church. She is survived by ten sons, Jim and Donnie Casey, both of Salem, Wendell and Steve Casey, both of Clarksville, Nelson Casey of Charlestown, SC, Tommy Casey of Leander, Texas, Roger Casey of Georgetown, Billy Casey of Terre Haute, Johnny Casey of Dahinda, Ill., and Eddie Casey of Pocola, Ok.; two daughters, Regina McNeely of Scottsburg, and Barbara Goodrich of Durand, Mich.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday, January 19, at Bunker Hill Cemetery, with Butch Gastfield officiating. ALFONSO CORTEZ, 59, Pekin, died Tuesday, January 18, at his home. He was a native of Jeffersonville, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, retired from Belknap Hardware Company in Louisville, and a member of Martinsburg Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth (Losson) Warman of Pekin; two sons, Richard Warman of Pekin, and Steve Warman of South Boston; three daughters, Jody Diaz of Clarksville, Patty Dejaie of Jeffersonville, and Paula Brown of Pekin; three sisters, Jenny Nixon of California, Thelma Ridley of Delaware, and Mary Rose Lohden of Jeffersonville; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a native of Pekin, and a former production worker for Colgate Palmolive. She is survived by her husband, Edward E. Osterkamp of Jeffersonville; two sons, Michael and Keith Osterkamp, both of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Denise Tongate of Pleasanton, Cal.; three sisters, Lois Murphin of Salem, Elsie M. Brown of Lakeland, Fla., and Eula VanMeter of Charlestown; two brothers, Oris “Bud” Hobson of Nashville, Ind., and Roy Hobson of Taswell; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Aubrey Edwards; a son, James Christopher Edwards of Henryville; two daughters, Crystal Brooke Hacke of Memphis and Jennifer Nicole Edwards of Otisco; her mother, Lena Elizabeth Mansfield Britt of Glasgow; a sister, Paula Bunch of Glasgow; and a granddaughter. Born in Carrsville, Va., she was a retired hairdresser and instructor and was a member of First Marion Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, T.J. Lewis; a son, Edward Thomas Byrd of Seymour; three stepsons, Donnie Lewis, David Lewis and Doug Lewis, all of Paris Crossing; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and six step-great-grandsons. The funeral was conducted on Friday, January 21, at her church in Commiskey. The Rev. David Schill officiated. Burial was in Marion Baptist Cemetery.
