Lottie H. Chytla
January 9, 1920 - September 12, 2005
Lottie H. Chytla, 85 of Winamac, died Sept. 12 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 9, 1920 in Harvey, Ill to Walter and Helen H. (Winiarz) Storzek. On June 6, 1938 in Chicago, she married Paul P. Chytla, who died June 4, 2001.
Lottie had been a Housekeeper and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac. She loved her dog Fifi and enjoyed playing Bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with family. She and her husband lived in Chicago until their retirement in 1975. They lived in Tempe, Ariz. for several years. She came to Winamac in 2002 following her husband's death.
Survivors include: her sister Rose [Bob] Korner of Winamac, two nephews David [Jean] Newman of Star City, and Alan Newman of Winamac; two nieces, Sharon [Douglas] McKinley and Linda [Bill] Webb, both of Winamac. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Paul Chytla Jr., and a sister, Mary.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac, with Rev. John Hoying officiating. Burial will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Ill.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday (today) and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (today) at Frain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter's Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Marion Margueret Tetzloff
March 16, 1916 - September 11, 2005
Marion Margueret Tetzloff, 89 of Monticello, died Sept. 11 at White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born March 16, 1916 in Mansfield, Ohio to Peter John and Nellie Edna (Ischey) Weuthrick.
On April 6, 1935 in Knox she married Richard Hugo Tetzloff. He died Aug. 30, 2003.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Medaryville. She was also a member of the FOP auxiliary and enjoyed gardening. She was a former resident of Reynolds for 30 years and a longtime resident of Medaryville, having lived in Monticello for the past three years. She was retired from the Purdue University Housekeeping Dept.
Survivors include: two daughters, Ethel Lemming of Elkinnc, N.C., and Caroline [David] Sutton of Oaklandon. She is also survived by two sons, Andy [Vickie] Tetzloff of Lafayette, and Peter Tetzloff of Reynolds, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Richard L. Tetzloff. Funeral services will be held at Querry-Ulbricht in Francesville on Thursday Sept. 15 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Lynn Rosiejka officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery in Medaryville. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville.
Donna Sue Lowry
October 1, 1960- September 18, 2005
Donna Sue Lowry, 44, 855 E. SR14, Winamac, died September 18, 2005 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born, October 1, 1960 in Rensselaer and was the daughter of William and Pauline Hopkins Oliver. On November 3, 1984 in Rensselaer she was married to James Lowry, who survives.
She was a Registered Nurse and attended the Life Center in Winamac. She was employed as an R.N. at Pulaski Memorial Hospital and Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac. She was a 1978 graduate of Rensselaer High School and had attended Ivy Tech, Ancilla College, Bethel College, and St. Mary's College. She had been on the Dean's List and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and walking. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She is survived by her husband James; two sons: Chad A. [Stacy] Lowry of Bloomfield, and Matthew W. [Rachel] Lowry of DeMotte; four grandchildren: Gage Lowry and Gracy Lowry of Bloomfield, and Giselle Lowry and Jason Lowry both of DeMotte.
Donna is also survived by her parents, William and Pauline Oliver of Brook, Ind.; three sisters: Theresa [Phillip] Coleman of Remington, Paula [Paul] Jay of Center Ossipee, Maine, and Diane Chamberlain of Newark, Texas; and a brother, Billy Oliver of Brook.
Funeral services will be held at the Frain Mortuary in Winamac on September 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Burial will take place in the Reed Cemetery in Winamac.
Visitation will be: 3-8 p.m. Thursday September 22, 2005 and after 8 a.m. on Friday at Frain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Glendola B. Ticen
December 16, 1913 - September 14, 2005
Glendola B. Ticen, 91, 1975 E. 950 S, Star City, died September 14th at Hickory Creek at Winamac. She was born on December 16, 1913 in Tipton, and was the daughter of Thomas Franklin and Ora Bennett Cottongim.
In 1940 in Kokomo she married Eugene Ticen; he died in 1946. In 1948 she married Rusty Ellers, in South Bend; he died in 1964.
She was employed as a manager. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include: a son, Franklin Ticen of Star City, and a daughter, Glenda Houk of Crestline, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Richard Martin of Indianapolis, Rusty Martin of Logansport, Tina Lowe of Mount Gilead, Ohio, and Sherry McIe of Galion, Ohio, and seven great children.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Frain Mortuary in Winamac was in charge of arrangements.
Christine Woodard
March 19, 1930 - September 17, 2005
Christine Woodard, 75, 14722 W. 400N., Medaryville, died September 17, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 19, 1930 in Royalton, Ky., and was the daughter of Joe Newton and Lillie Wireman Allen.
On October 12, 1949 in Gary, she married Clifford Woodard Sr.; he died March 15, 1988.
Mrs. Woodard had been a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church, Medaryville. She loved gardening flowers, reading her Bible and listening to Gospel music. She was a collector of ceramic pigs. She also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include three daughters: Elizabeth [Neil] Jeffrey of Wabash, and Charolette [Gregory] Stoner and Vivian Mitchell both of Medaryville; two sons: Clifford [Deborah] Woodard Jr. and Cleatious [Beverly] Woodard, also of Medaryville. Also surviving are four sisters: Madeline Tetzloff of Michigan City, Susie Dickinson of Monticello, Bertha Todd of Wheatfield, and Sallie Tibbs of Ogden, Utah; and three brothers: Amos [Betty] Allen of Medaryville, Albert [Connie] Allen of La Crosse, and James [Carol] Allen of Crown Point. Eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Woodard, a grandson, Joshua Jeffrey, and a brother, Rex Allen.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the Medaryville Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial took place in the White Post Cemetery in Medaryville.
Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville was in charge of arrangements.
Carl Everett Dunker
September 5, 1937 - September 23, 2005
Carl Everett Dunker, 68, 6779 S. SR 39, Francesville, died Sept. 23, at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. He was born September 5, 2005 in Francesville and was the son of Henry and Martha (Popp) Dunker.
Carl was a member of St. James-Salem United Church of Christ, in Francesville. He was a retired farmer and also retired from Plymouth Tube Co. in Winamac, after 36 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and travel. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the early 60's and was a member of the Francesville American Legion Post.
He is survived by four sisters: Louise [Charles] Hoagland of Bargersville, Isabelle [Robert] Stout of Lake Hamilton, Fla., Viola [Chester] Baker of Winamac, and Marilyn [Larry] Stout of Lafayette; one brother, George [Evelyn] Dunker of Francesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Rose and Henrietta Criswell.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at St. James-Salem United Church of Christ, with Pastor Lynn Rosiejka officiating. Burial took place in the St. James-Salem Cemetery in Francesville. Military graveside services were conducted by the Francesville American Legion.
Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville was in charge of arrangements.

Robert L. Lower
July 14, 1936 - September, 25, 2005
Robert L. Lower, 69, of Monterey died Sept. 25 at his residence. He was born July 14, 1936 in Royal Center, he was the son of Alfred T. and Cora M. (Allen) Lower.
On July 1, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Linda Hensley, who survives.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winamac. He was a retired maintenance manager of Red Gold Co., of Elwood. He was a member and past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias, Lodge #462 in Royal Center and also a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Lafayette.
He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, PGA Golf Tours, Tippecanoe River Drummers. He was a founder of the Winamac Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, DOKK, and was a former member and past fire chief of the Royal Center Fire Department, as well as a Past President of the Royal Center Youth League, and was an avid hunter.
Surviving along with his wife is one daughter, Casandra Kay [Kenny] Barrett, Grand Rapids, Mich., two sons, Gregory Robert [Rhonda] Lower, Star City, and Randy Lyn [Christi] Lower of Lafayette, two step-sons, Kevin [Shannon] Creamer and Troy Creamer, both of Elwood, and one brother-in-law, Harold [Mamie Ann] Merrill of Las Vegas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Sue; a son, Rodney Lee; a brother, Junior; and a sister, Betty Jean.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Harrison Metzger Funeral Home in Royal Center, with Pastor Carl Lendermon officiating, burial will take place in the Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Thursday until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Care House - Goshen Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society.
