SOUTH BEND - Gail D. Meyer, 45, of Searer Drive, died Friday in Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband Daryl D.; a daughter, Leah C. Meyer at home; two sons, Matthew C. and Nicholas T., both at home; her parents, Edward G. and Elaine (Nierzwicki) Dunbar of South Bend; two sisters, Christine E. Dunbar of South Bend and Amy F. Wadsworth of Holland, Mich.; and a brother, E. Geer Dunbar of LaPaz. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a wake service will be at 3 p.m.

SOUTH BEND - Mary June Szweda, 68, of West Adams Road, died Friday in Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Richard C.; two daughters, Noreen Hostetler and Marianne Szweda, both of South Bend; a son, Brian of South Bend; and a sister, Cathy Hedges of Santa Rosa, Calif. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where friends may call an hour before services. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is handling arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - Helen M. Wasowski, 75, of Arabian Court, died Friday in Hospice House. She is survived by a son, Dale of South Bend; and three brothers, Leonard Kaczynski, Ervin Kaczynski and Gene Kaczynski, all of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.

MISHAWAKA - Mildred Belting, 92, of J and D Homecare, South Bend, formerly of Mishawaka, died in the homecare center Saturday. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home.

SOUTH BEND - Mary Jast, 90, of Cardinal Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of East Widener Lane, died Thursday in the center. She is survived by a son, Anthony Jast of Big Rapids, Mich. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower, where friends may call two hours before services.

William H. Edwards Jr.

SOUTH BEND - William H. Edwards Jr., 83, of Troy Court, died Saturday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by two daughters, Judith I. Saunders of San Diego and Sharon L. Gordon of South Bend; a sister, Elaine McDonald of Cassopolis; and a brother, Robert M. Sr. of South Bend. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m.

NORTH LIBERTY - Thaddeus Flis, 58, of Indiana 23, died Saturday in Hospice House, South Bend. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Karkiewicz); a daughter, Ann M. Flis of North Liberty; a son, Benjamin J. of North Liberty; and a brother, Henry of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Norma E. Ackley
Oct. 3, 1903-Jan. 23, 1998
SOUTH BEND - Norma E. Ackley, 94, of Transitional Health Care Services, died Friday in the center. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Myers of Marshall, Mich.; two sons, Robert of Marcellus and Ralph C. of Marshall; and a sister, Alice Fox of Albion, Mich. A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling arrangements.

GRANGER - Nathan Bradley Beck, son of Wendy L. (Daniels) and Donald M. Beck, of Ruth Street, died two hours after birth Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, of natural causes. He is survived by a brother, Andrew B. Beck, at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where friends may call two hours before services.
