BRANDON DJ GRAHAM
VISITATION: 3-8 PM EST MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2008
SERVICES: 11 AM EST TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2008
Brandon Dallas Jonathan Graham, 18, of 807 South Franklin Street, Winamac, IN, passed away at 5:56 AM Friday, February 22, 2008 at State Road 14 & CR 300 East in Winamac, IN.
He was born April 11, 1989, in Winamac, IN, to Scott and Tammy Crissinger Graham.
Growing up Brandon was very involved in his youth group at the Nazarene Church and had the privilege of going with the group on a Mission trip to the Bahamas. At 14 Brandon decided he wanted to become a US Marine. He hitched rides to "PT" until he was old enough to drive there himself. For his 17th birthday he asked his parents to sign the delayed entry program forms. Brandon studied taekwondo for years, obtaining his brown belt. Brandon graduated from Winamac Community High School in 2007. He reported for Marine Corp boot camp on July 31, 2007, Marine Combat Training on November 7, 2007, Marine Communications School at 29 Palms, CA on November 28, 2007 and had reported on February 7, 2008 to Parent Command, Detachment 1, Communication Company at Grissom AFB in Peru, IN to serve as a radio operator. While in California to attend his graduation, he got the chance to stand next to his Grandma Bette when she saw the ocean for the first time. Brandon was a caring and protective big brother to his sisters, Baylee and Kloee, and a loving son to his parents. Brandon was devoted to the love of his life, Nichole Stark, who shared his dream of being a Marine. He always looked for the good in everyone and warmed the hearts of those who truly took the time to get to know him. He died as a passenger in an automobile accident on February 22, 2008. He was able to fulfill one last wish, to be an organ donor. Although we will all miss him terribly, we rest in the knowledge that God was with him in his final moments, reaching out His hand saying "this way Brandon."
