SOUTH BEND - Leo Plotkin, 86, of Topsfield Road, died Monday in the home of his daughter on Kern Road. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; three daughters, Nancy Cohen and Charlene Pippenger, both of South Bend and Phyllis Silver of Newton, Mass.; and a brother, Robert of South Bend. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. There is no visitation.

Hazel A. Whitney

MISHAWAKA - Hazel A. Whitney, 94, of Montgomery Road, died Monday in Countryside Place. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Wiseman of Paris, Ill.; a son, Roland of South Bend; and two sisters, Imogene Hendricks of Mishawaka and Pauline Sarver of Logansport, Ind. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Apostolic Temple, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, South Bend.

Darwin D. Brunk

LAKEVILLE - Darwin D. Brunk, 58, of 100 Mott St., formerly of Bourbon, died Saturday in his home of natural causes. Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Brunk of Lafayette, Ind.; three sons, Jeff of Galveston, Ind., Rich of Warsaw and Chris of Dublin, Ohio; and three sisters, Bunnie MacBeth of Chicago, Kerry Sullivan of Ashville, N.C., and Sherry Brunk of St. Petersburg, Fla. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon. There will be no visitation. Deaton Funeral Home, Bourbon, is handling arrangements.

Kyle J. Carson
June 28, 1977-Jan. 18, 1998
SOUTH BEND - Kyle J. Carson, 20, of Old Ridge Road, died Sunday following a trafffic accident near Francesville on U.S. 421. Survivors include his parents, Kathy (Hutchings) and Scott A. Carson of South Bend; a sister, Kelly M. Carson of South Bend; and a brother, Gavin M. of South Bend. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

SOUTH BEND - Mary Barbara (Viscan) Fahey, 76, of Poppy Road, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Frank; two daughters, Mary Young and Patricia Brindley, both of Granger; two sons, Dennis F. of Buchanan and Jeffrey J. of Lisle, Ill.; a sister, Rose Cordier of Springfield, Ill.; and two brothers, James Viscan of Litchfield, Ill., and Marko Viscan of Cedar Hill, Mo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Idah E.; a daughter, Joan White of Indianapolis; a son, Lloyd E. of Libertyville, Ill.; and a sister, Ruth Nielsen of Glenview, Ill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

MISHAWAKA - Daniel N. Hysell, 75, of Currant Road, died Sunday in St. Joseph Community Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa R. Hysell of Mishawaka; a son, Daniel L. Hysell of Osceola; and two sisters, Ramona Good of Vandalia and Mercedes Van Over of Florida. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

SOUTH BEND - Ruth L. Longbrake, 71, of Chippewa Avenue, died Sunday in her home. Survivors include three daughters, Gayle S. Ganus and Starr Smith, both of South Bend, and Barbie Quall of Osceola; two sons, Luther and Keith, both of South Bend; and two sisters, Margaret Root of South Bend and Jeanette Borders of Circle Pines, Minn. Private services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Bremen Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no visitation. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - John C. McLauchlan, 72, of Portage Avenue, died Jan. 8 in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
