Bud W. Krohn Sr., 81, of 4640 E 50 S, Winamac, IN, passed away at 4:30 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN.

He was born January 27, 1927, in Cedar Lake, IN, to Charles and Clara Reichert Krohn.

He was married to Dorothy Rose Frasa on July 31, 1948, in Winamac. She died Nov. 30, 2003.

He was an active farmer.

He served on the ASCS Board as a Township Committeeman for many years.

He was a member of Winamac Masonic Lodge #262.

He was a member of the Fulton County REMC Board of Director's for 12 years.

He was a former Harrison Township Trustee for 8 years, a former Pulaski Co. Commissioner for 12 years, and was a Republican Precinct Committeeman for many years. He was an active volunteer in the Republican Party for many years.

He was also the former Pulaski County Highway Superintendant for several years.

He was a former member of the Pulaski County School Board and was serving when the Eastern Pulaski Schools were formed.

He was a former member of the Pulaski Co. 4-H Fair Board and was an avid supporter of the 4-H program for over 48 years while encouraging his children and grandchildren as they participated in 4-H.

He enjoyed attending Purdue athletic events with his grandchildren.

He love to attend and participate in Antique Tractor Pulls.

His greatest joys in his life were his family and farming.

Burial will take place in the McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery,Winamac, IN.

Friends may call 2-8PM EST Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Frain Mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Stephen C. Compton, 60, of 1882 East 750 South, Star City, IN, passed away at 6:58 AM Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his residence.

He was born July 26, 1947, in Logansport, IN, to Richard W. and Aldene M. Schultz Compton.

Steve was a retired farmer. He graduated from Star City High School in 1965. Steve enjoyed watching his children participate in high school sports and show animals in 4-H fairs. He also enjoyed watching his daughter Sara participating in tractor pulls. Steve enjoyed time at the Oak Grove restaurant in Star City. He enjoyed driving through the country side looking at the crops. Steve was an avid coon hunter. He served in the US Army National Guard.

Helen Laverne Spence, 62, of 508 Summit St., Winamac, IN, passed away at 1:55 PM Monday, February 11, 2008 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN.

She was born June 30, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, to Leroy and Clara Krynock.

She was married to Jimmy Spence. He died in 2003.

She was a former school teacher and was an 18 year employee of Federal Mogul, Leiters Ford, IN. She also was a devoted employee of Pulaski Develpmental Services in Winamac, IN.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2580 Auxillary, Winamac.

She was an avid gardener. She loved her family.

She lived in Winamac for eight years. She formerly lived in Peoria, IL, and Memphis, TN.
