John W. Howell
John W. Howell, 67, of Cambridge City died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Pinehurst Valley Nursing Center in Centerville following an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1923, in Manchester, Ky., the son of Levi and Alzy Bundy Howell. He lived in Cambridge City for three years.
He was a retired construction worker for National Concrete Products of Plymouth, Mich. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany and Alaska and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of South Lyon, Mich.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Diana Servello Howell; three daughters, Desiree and Danielle Howell, both at home, and Betty Monk of Plymouth, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Guanna McGowan of Detroit; a stepson, Gerald Servello of Walled Lake, Mich.; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Earl and Iona Howell of Dublin, A.T. and Louise Howell of Richmond, Burton and Hilda Howell of Indianapolis, B.R. and Helen Howell of London, Ky., and Vernon Howell of London, Ky.; and five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Magdeline Miller, and a brother, P.J. Howell.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin with Pastor Jim Slaven officiating.

Robert C. King
Robert C. King, 88, of 2711 Virginia Ave., Connersville, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at Fayette Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Little Falls, Wash., the son of Samuel and Jane Little King.
He was a retired car salesman and farmer. He was employed for many years at the former Hillman Brothers Ford in Brookville and later opened his own used car dealership in Brookville. He moved from Brookville to Connersville in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrison, Ohio, and had attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo C. Baker King, whom he married Jan. 2, 1931; a sister, Elsie Haas of Harrison, Ohio; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert C. King Jr. in 1976; and five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville with the Rev. Malcolm Greene officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Brookville. Friends may call Thursday from noon until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.

Linda Ruth Ricks
Linda Ruth Ricks, 60, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 21, 1939, in Fayette County, the daughter of George Heber and Mildred Hobson Oldham.
She was married on Sept. 2, 1962, to the Rev. Carl A. Ricks, who survives.
She was a graduate of Alquina High School, Asbury College and Indiana University-South Bend. She was an elementary school teacher and also taught at Ancilla Junior College in Plymouth, Ind. She taught two years in Budapest, Hungary, as a missionary teacher for O.M.S. International.
She was a member of United Methodist Temple in Lakeland, Fla.; and a director of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Simone R. Ricks-Jones of Lake in the Hills, Ill., and Sharon R. Langford of Temperance, Mich.; a son, Stephen A. Ricks of Indianapolis; two sisters, Naomi Kaminski of, Squim, Wash., and Eleanor Frazier of Winter Haven, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Washington, Ind., with the Rev. Valarie Foughty-Killion officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Gill Funeral Home in Washington, and Thursday after 12:30 p.m. at the church.

Mary Lucile Strohmier
Mary Lucile Strohmier, 77, of Brookville died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Oxford View Nursing Home in Oxford, Ohio.
She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Franklin County, the daughter of Elmer and Florence VanAusdal Suhre.
She lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Whitcomb Friendly Neighbors Home Ec Club.
On Jan. 10, 1946, she married Dale Strohmier, who survives.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Karen Strohmier of Indianapolis and Joyce Hokey of Brookville; four sons, Richard Strohmier, Gary Strohmier and Daryl Strohmier, all of Brookville, and Brian Strohmier of South Bend; a brother, Robert Suhre of West Harrison; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepmother, Alma Suhre.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville with the Rev. Gary W. Anderson, pastor of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or Franklin County EMS.

Bonnie Jane Bergen
LAUREL - Bonnie Jane Bergen, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 15, 2003, in the emergency room of F a y e t t e M e m o r i a l Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home with David Jordan of Laurel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Herbert C. Brewer
LAUREL - Herbert C. Brewer, 74, of Stipps Hill Road in Laurel died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Mercy-Franciscan Medical Center-Western Hills Campus in Cincinnati. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville with Pastor Gene Million of Gortner Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Connersville officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic memorial services will be conducted.

Vera Lavon Eckler
LIBERTY - Vera Lavon Eckler,91, of Liberty, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at McCullough- Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty with her brother-in-law, Garold Hampton, officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery in Connersville. There will be no public calling.

Dolores M. "Do" Blank, 84
Dolores M. "Do" Blank, 84, Batesville, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville.
Born Aug. 18, 1916 in Morris, she was the daughter of Charles and Florentine (Fahlbush) Bramlage. She married Edward J. Blank Jr. Aug. 13, 1941 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris and he preceded her in death April 21, 1985.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church. She was a member of Hillcrest Country Club, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary and was also active in the Batesville Girl Scouts.
She is survived by three daughters, Dana (Mrs. George S.) Row of Osgood, Ruth Ann (Mrs. Fred) Sheele of Batesville and Ms. Mary Lou Blank of Crown Point; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dee Baker and one great grandson.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Farris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville with a 7 p.m. rosary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Phi Beta Sorority Cancer Research Project, or to the Sisters of St. Francis.

David Lee Kellems, 47
David Lee Kellems, 47, Waldron, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at his residence.
Born March 2, 1955, in Batesville, he was the son of Hubert and Virginia (Vierling) Kellems, and his mother survives.
He was a farmer and a laborer, working at Fischer Seeds and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Vierling of Shelbyville; one daughter, Jodi Lynn Wickliff of Shelbyville; one brother, Dan Kellems of Shelbyville; one sister, Nancy Scudder of Shelbyville; three grandchildren; and four nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service in Shelbyville. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
