Robert J. Gregory, 55
Robert J. Gregory, 55, Greensburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 4, 1947, in Clay County, Ky., he was the son of Hobart and Josephine (Ponder) Gregory, both deceased. He married Linda Raver Dec. 5, 1969, in Adams, and she survives.
A 1967 graduate of St. Paul High School, he worked in quality assurance for Delta Faucet and attended Springhill Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert Gregory Jr. of Fishers; two daughters, Amy Gregory of Muncie and Jeannie Bedel of Greensburg; three sisters, Dee Smith of Independence, Ky., Nancy Hubbard of Greensburg and Jean Sears of Joplin, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis, Carl and Everett Gregory; and two sisters, Shirley Wisebrodt and Mary Edna Gregory.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Springhill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Crowley officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Ava Maria Dinn, 40
Ava Maria Dinn, 40, Bloomington, died at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 19, 1962, in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl T. Halcomb and Mary Sue Pelfrey Welch of Columbus.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Morgantown and worked for M.S.P. Inc. in Bloomington.
Besides her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Casie Sue Dinn and Stacie Lucille Dinn of Nashville; and a sister, Cheryl Lynn Brewer of Scipio.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Vernon Jewell-Nick Rittman Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the funeral Monday.
Thelma N. Miller, 88
Thelma N. Miller, 88, Rush County, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood.
Born July 9, 1914 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Leonard and Mary E. (Brown) Pate. She married John F. Miller on Dec. 24, 1938 and he preceded her in death.
She was a farmer who owned and operated Miller's Grain and Livestock Farms. She was a member of the Homer Christian Church for 50 years and a graduate of the Indiana Business School.
She is survived by one son, John R. Miller Sr. of Rush County; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy with the Rev. Don Heller officiating. Burial will follow in Hurst Cemetery in Rush County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Kelly D. Russell, 41
Kelly D. Russell, 41, Shelbyville, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Richard J. Schwering, 72
Richard J. Schwering, 72, Columbus, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Dec. 23, 1930, in Decatur County, he was the son of Frank and Elizabeth R. (Schoettmer) Schwering. He married Helen M. Schroeder Nov. 24, 1955, and she survives.
A Sandusky High School graduate, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War and was retired from Interstate Brands Trucking Co. of Columbus. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Columbus and the Bakers Confectionery and had coached, played and umpired for the Greensburg Softball Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph F. Schwering.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Fred Schwering of Westport and Chuck Schwering of Greensburg; three daughters, Brenda Wright of Greensburg, Debbie Wall of Osgood and Diane Jordan of Columbus; two brothers, Paul Schwering of Greensburg and Dale Schwering of Rushville; two sisters, Mary Catherine Schwering and Rosemary Wenning, both of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Schaftlein officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the American Legion. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m.

Clifford H. Faurote, 91, Columbus, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Eulis Bedford Gibson, 79
Eulis Bedford Gibson, 79, Greensburg, died at 1 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2003 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born May 21, 1924 in Adair, Ky., he was the son of Ernest and Mary Lena (England) Gibson. He married Phebie M. Brown on April 3, 1943 in Metcalf, Ky., and she survives.
He worked at Delta Faucet for 27 years and was owner/operator of Gibson's Car Wash and Laundromat for 25 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Tom and Jack Gibson, both of Indianapolis; three daughters, Linda (Robert D.) Clark and Imia (Robert E.) Clark and Pat Haley, all of Greensburg; two brothers, Kenneth Gibson of Louisville, Bill Gibson of Ft. Knox, Ky.; two sisters, Leoda Reese of Columbia, Ky., and Estaline Corbin of Milltown, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L.W. Gibson, and a sister, Helen Diane Gibson.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edwin F. Schwendenmann, 88
Edwin F. Schwendenmann, 88, Greensburg, died at 4:19 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at St. Anthony's Health Center, Lafayette.
Born July 18, 1914 in St. Paul, he was the son of George and Agnes (Brown) Schwendenmann. He married Catherine Boone Aug. 16, 1936 in Greensburg, and she preceded him in death.
Decatur County sheriff from 1971-1974, Indiana State Police trooper and captain of Railroad Police for Amtrak in Beech Grove, he had a radio show on WTRE and was a 1932 graduate of Greensburg High School.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he performed in the choir for more than 70 years, he was past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus 1042, charter member of Greensburg Optimist Club, member of Greensburg Senior Citizens, Masonic Lodge 36, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and Greensburg Shrine Club and drove Shriner's Hospital van.
He won the Respect for Law award in 1986, was named Optimist of the Year in 1999, won Area XI Older Hoosier in 1985 and was presented with the Distinguished Graduate Award from St. Mary's in 1994.
He helped start Little League and school safety patrol in Greensburg in 1954.
He is survived by two sons, Dan (Wanda) Schwendenmann of Cincinnati and Steve (Barb) Schwendenmann of Lafayette; one daughter, Carolyn (Gene) Brown of Monticello; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lloyd and a brother, Frank Schwendenmann.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg, with the Revs. Mark O'Mara and Steve Schaftlein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
