Ruth Rumple
Ruth Rumple, 82, of Martinsville, died from natural causes 12:24 a.m. Feb. 22, 1999, at Morgan County Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1916, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of Charles and Olivia (Attebury) Halfacre. She married Elmer Rumple Aug. 12, 1940. He died in October 1965.
Mrs. Rumple was a homemaker and member of the Evangelical Methodist Church.
There are no survivors.
She had been active with the Martinsville Senior Center.
The graveside service and burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon. The Rev. David Dunbar will officiate.
There are no calling hours.
Costin Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Jasper A. Humphrey
Jasper A. Humphrey, 82, of Martinsville, died from natural causes at 89:15 p.m. Feb. 20, 1999, at Morgan County Memorial Hospital.
Born June 29, 1916, in Lena, Ind., he was the son of Claude and Mattie (Braden) Humphrey. His first wife was Esther Humphrey, who died in 1975. He married Ruth E. (Schienbein) Mock May 31, 1977. She died April 15, 1997.
Humphrey was employed as a truck driver for Teamsters Union 135.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include one brother, Norris Humphrey of Plainfield; and two nephews: Muron and Dennis Humphrey.
Two brothers, Lucien and Floyd Humphrey, preceded him in death.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Costin Funeal Chapel, 539 E. Washington St. The Rev. Jeff Sexton will officiate. Burial will be in Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will conducte military honors at the graveside.
Violet P. Hardcastle
Violet P. (Utterback) Hardcastle, 91, of Mooresville, died from natural causes March 13, 1999, at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Mooresville.
Born Feb. 26, 1908, in Zionsville, she was the daughter of Bruce William and Mable (McCoskey) Utterback. She married William Everett Hardcastle Aug. 12, 1936. He died May 28, 1998.
Mrs. Hardcastle was a homemaker.
Survivors include friends, George and Hazel Price of Mooresville, and a sister-in-law, Billie Utterback of El Paso, Texas.
Two brothers, Dwayne and Bruce Utterback, preceded her in death.
Graveside service and burial were this morning, March 15, 1999, at Bethesda Cemetery in Mooresville. The Rev. Jeff Faull officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor's favorite charity.
Phyllis N. Kerkhof
Phyllis Nell (App) Kerkhof, 82, of Waverly, died from natural causes March 12, 1999, at Morgan County Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
Born May 5, 1916, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of Escar Nicholas and Besse Catherine (Osborn) App. She married Aron Joseph Kerkhof Sept. 17, 1938. He died March 15, 1991.
Mrs. Kerkhoff retired in 1980 after serving 18 years as deputy auditor of Morgan County.
She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church in Waverly and Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority.
Survivors include two sons, Nicholas J. Kerkhof of Rio Vista, Texas, and Richard L. Kerkhof of Mooresville; two daughters, Karen S. Kindred of Martinsville and Julia D. Roudebush of Lafayette; one sister, Martha L. Van Winkle of Mooresville; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev. Norman Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Glenn's Valley.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
Frances M. McKee
Ill for the past several months, Frances M. McKee, 77, of Martinsville, died at 12:45 a.m. March 14, 1999, at the Grandview Convalescent Center. She had lived in Martinsville since 1972, moving from Morgantown.
The daughter of Henry and Opal (Thomas) Erton, both deceased, she was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Perry Township of Marion County. She married Cleo E. "Mac" McKee, April 27, 1943. He died June 29, 1971.
Mrs. McKee was a homemaker, but for the past 20 years has made crafts, rag rugs and quilts. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include one nephew, Richard L. Neal of Martinsville; and two nieces, Dorothy Etter and Helen Okey, both of Indianapolis.
One sister, Thelma M. Neal, preceded her in death.
The graveside service and burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Round Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. The Rev. Delbert Cottrell will officiate.

Helen I. Miller
Helen Ilene Miller, 83, of Martinsville, died from natural causes at 2:10 a.m. March 13, 1999, at Grandview Manor Nursing Home. She has been a resident of Martinsville for the last four years, moving from Mooresville. She also lived in Bicknell, Oaktown and English.
Born July 17, 1915, in English, Ind., she was the daughter of Ollie and Frances (Goldman) Belcher. She married the Rev. Owen S. Miller, who is deceased.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing and knitting.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Louisville, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Wiggs of Little Rock, Ark., and Betty Long of Indianapolis; two sons, Charles Miller of Fort Collins, Colo., and Fred Miller of Camby; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One grandson, Paul Stewart Miller; and three sisters, Ethel Roach, Imogene Reasor and Estel Land, preceded her in death.
The service will be 11 a.m.. Tuesday at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Joe Miller will officiate. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Jones Family Mortuary.
Albany McIntosh
Rites are pending at Neal & Summers Mortuary for Albany "Mac" McIntosh.
McIntosh, 70, of Spencer R.R. 3, died this morning, March 15, 1999, at the Fontainbleu Nursing & Rehab Center, 3305 State Highway 37 in Bloomington.
