Dorothy M. Lohse
February 2, 1922 - April 26, 2001
PLYMOUTH, IND. - Dorothy M. Lohse, 79, a resident of Walnut Creek Care Facility, Plymouth, the past two years, died of natural causes at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001 in the company of her family at the care facility.
Dorothy had resided at 14027 12th Rd. Plymouth, coming from Hammond, Ind. with her husband in 1947. Born February 2, 1922 in Hammond, the daughter of Shirley Tratebas and Margaret Klemsman Tratebas, Dorothy graduated from Hammond Tech School.
On August 23, 1941, in Hammond, she was married to Wilbert H. Lohse. Wilbert died on October 10, 1993.
Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family and living a Christian life. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran church of Plymouth since 1947. One favorite personal past time was embroidery.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter. Her sons and daughter-in-laws are; Clyde J. and Barbara Lohse of Argos, Ind. James W. and Carol Lohse of Leesburg, Ind. and David L. and Carol Lohse of Plymouth. Her daughter Shirley M. Hardesty resides in Huntington, Ind. Eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse and a son-in-law, Lloyd Hardesty.
Visitation with her family will be on Friday, April 27, 2001, from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth and on Saturday, April 28, 2001 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 N. Michigan St., Plymouth where services will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Steven Resner and Vicar Robert Bower will officiate.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mardell E. Druzik
August 31, 1943 - May 4, 2001
Mardell E. Druzik, 57, suffered an aneurysm at home in the company of family on Saturday, April 28th and was taken by air ambulance to Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne where she died following surgery and complications at 8 a.m. Friday, May 04, 2001. Mardell was a giver, and although her life was to short and left us to soon, she continued to share with others even in death. According to her wishes she was entered into the Organ Donor Program and will provide renewed life for others.
Mardell has resided at 8300 St. Rd. 17 since 1993 coming from the Chicago area. She was born the daughter of Robert A. and Theresa A. Marx Girmscheid in Chicago on August 31, 1943. She graduated from the St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1961 and attended the Sacred Heart College in Wichita, Kansas.
On October 10, 1964 she and Jack J. Druzik were married in Chicago, he survives. Mardell worked as a secretary for the Maintenance and Engineering Dept. of the South Chicago Community Hospital for 20 years. She then became involved with the Chicago Institute for Spiritual Leadership and after moving to Plymouth served as a secretary for the Kaleidoscope Children's Center.
Her grandchildren were very special to her and she enjoyed baking and flower gardening, often in the company of her pet dog "Snooky". Mardell was a former member of Annunciata Catholic Church in Chicago and a current member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Plymouth, where she was involved in the Altar Rosary Society. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Marshall County Hospice program, the Horse Assisted Therapy for Handicap Children and Chapter 1355 Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, three beloved daughters and five precious grandchildren. Daughters; Deborah A. Hinds and children Justin J. and Valerie of Orland Park, Ill., Renee and Jim Lemanski and children Nicholas, Jimmy and Marcus Lemanski of Lisle, Ill., Deanna and Gene Hixson of Collierville, Tenn. Three brothers and two sisters also survive; her brothers are: Robert Girmscheid of Maryland, Lew and Joan Girmscheid of Batavia, Ill., Bert and Sue Girmscheid of Scottsdale, Arizona and sisters: Sr. Verene Girmscheid O.S.F. of Hammond, Ind. and Gerri and Walt Draus of Lombard, Ill. Numerous nieces and nephews survive along with Mardell's mother-in-law, Virginia A. Druzik and sister-in-law, Judi Druzik both of Plainfield, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Theresa Girmscheid.
Friends are invited to visit with family on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, where a Prayer Service will be held following visitation at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by family friend Fr. Joe Carey C.S.C. of Notre Dame and Pastor Anthony Gillespie at 11 a.m. Wed., May 9, 2001 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 625 N. Center St. Plymouth.

Georgiana Hrabal
April 17, 1910 - May 4, 2001
Georgiana Hrabal, 91, died of natural causes at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Georgiana had lived at Walnut Creek Care Center, 309 Kingston Ave., since October, 1999, coming from Garden Court West.
Born in Chicago, Ill. on April 17, 1910, Georgiana was the daughter of Charles and Antonia Filip Zacharda. She attended Grovertown schools.
On August 11, 1927, in Knox, Georgiana and Joseph Hrabal were married. Joseph died on July 13, 1963.
From 1964 to 1975, Georgiana became known as one of the "Pie Ladies" at the ever popular Schori's Restaurant in Plymouth.
She was clever with her hands not only with baked goods: she enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and creating needle-embroidered pictures. Each grandbaby received an original handmade gift at their birth, made lovingly by Georgiana.
She had been involved as a volunteer with the Parkview Hospital auxiliary, the Friends of the Library and the Braille Bible work at Calvary Lutheran Church.
Four daughters survive their mother's death. They are: Helen Wentz, Largo, Fla., Evelyn Jacobs, Bourbon, Violet Clemons, Fredonia, N.Y., and Barbara and James Strycker, Plymouth.
Five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive together with a sister, Valasta Hanover, St. Paul, Minn.
Georgiana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and Libby Winje, a sister.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 10, 2001, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Maurice Grindle, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the Grovertown Cemetery, Grovertown.

Charlotte V. Miller
October 26, 1913 - May 4, 2001
Eighty-seven year old Charlotte V. Miller, died of natural causes at 4:55 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2001, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., where she had been a resident since Monday. Charlotte was a former resident at 234 E. Lake St. Plymouth and, most recently, of the Walnut Creek Care Center, Plymouth.
Charlotte was born October 26, 1913, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Ralph Charles Miller and Vesta Snowdrop Knowles Miller-Sherman. She attended high school in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Plymouth with her family in 1930.
Never married, from 1940 to 1952, Charlotte worked at the Ball Band company in Mishawaka, often working 12 hours a day. For the next 2 years she worked at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant, 1953-55. She next worked at American Optical Company in Plymouth before retiring twenty years later, in 1975.
She loved nature. Her favorite hobby was watching and feeding the birds and raccoons who visited her yard in the evening. She kept pretty close to home and enjoyed cats and dogs, particularly, "Baby," her last and most favored cat.
Charlotte is survived by several nieces and nephews.
They are: David and Cheryl Lee, New Carlisle, Ind., Richard and Peggy Lee and Ron and Virginia Sischo, all of Austin, Texas, and Walter and Mary Jane DeBates, Mishawaka. Also surviving are William and Sharon Lee and Stephen and Terry Lee, all of Plymouth and Barbara "Sharlene" Blackwood, Las Vegas, NV.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Omer Lee.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the New Oakhill Chapel, Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. James Pippenger, pastor of the Argos Bethel Tabernacle, will follow visitation in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth is in charge of arrangements.

Marguerite T. McCarthy
October 15, 1906 - Mach 23, 2000
Marguerite T. McCarthy, 93, living at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth, Indiana, died at 2:16 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2000 at St. Joseph Regional .Medical Center Plymouth Campus.
Marguerite was born to James Monehen and Delia Byrne on October 15, 1906 in Logansport, Indiana. She was married in September of 1931 to Joseph M. McCarthy in Chicago, Illinois. She had lived in Plymouth, Indiana for the past three years, going there from the Culver area. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Plymouth, Indiana.
Marguerite is survived by her son, Patrick B. (Dolores) McCarthy of Culver, Indiana, two grandsons, Timothy (Joy) McCarthy of Culver, Indiana, PatMac Jones of Cumming, Georgia, two granddaughters, Cathy (Scott) Bennett of Culver, Indiana, Marellen (Greg) Turner of Marietta, Georgia, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph M. McCarthy on January 23, 1958, a daughter, Delann Jones, her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 26, 2000 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Bonine Funeral Home. Rev. Expedito Muwonge will officiate the service which will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2000 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana. Interment will follow at the St. Vincent's Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
Bertha May Rust
September 5, 1908 - March 18, 2000
Bertha May Rust, 91 of 830 College Avenue, Culver, Indiana, died at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver, Indiana.
Bertha was born to Scott and Mary (Gelfius) Setser on September 10, 1908 in Columbus, Indiana. She has lived in the Culver area from many years. Before moving to Culver, she was married on August 25, 1931 in Columbus, Indiana to Robert T. Rust. She was a member of the Grace Church in Culver. Before retirement, Bertha was a music teacher for the Culver Elementary School.
Bertha is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. (James) Watters of Midlothian, Virginia, two grandsons, Michael R. (Deborah) Watters of Indianapolis, Indiana, Alan J. (Joanna) Watters of Birmingham, Alabama, granddaughter, Suzanne L. (Mark) Saunders of Chester, Virginia, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Rust, father, Scott Setser, mother, Mary (Gelsius) Setser, and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 at Bonine Funeral Home. Rev. J. William Schiller will officiate the service which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at Culver Grace United Church of Christ, Culver, Indiana,. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Columbus, Indiana at the Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Culver Grace United Church of Christ.
Billy R. Wennerstrom
December 24, 1924 - March 6, 2000
Billy R. Wennerstrom, 75, of 18250 Lincolnway West, Plymouth, Indiana, died at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2000 at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.
Mr. Wennerstrom was born to August and Naomi (Johnston) Wennerstrom on December 24, 1924, in Culver, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Helen Wennerstrom of Plymouth, Indiana, a step-son, Kenneth Rodgers of Plymouth, Indiana, three step-daughters, Viola (Allen) Luse of Monon, Indiana, Phyllis Reinhold of Culver, Indiana, Sue Rodgers of Plymouth, Indiana, eight step-great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, four brothers, Clarence Wennerstrom of Carlson City, Nevada, Knight Wennerstrom of Plymouth, Indiana, Culver Wennerstrom of Mishawaka, Indiana, August Wennerstrom of Mishawaka, Indiana, a sister, Leonora (Ann) Gibbons of Rochester, Indiana, several nieces, and several nephews. He was preceded in death by one step-son, his father, August Wennerstrom, mother, Naomi Wennerstrom, and one brother.
Visitation was at Bonine Funeral Home for three hours before the funeral service on Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Daniel J. Berger officiated the service. Interment followed at the Culver Masonic Cemetery in Culver, Indiana.
