Patrick E. Cartwright
Patrick E. Cartwright, 78, of Seymour, died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Heritage House of Seymour.
He served in the Marines during World War II. He was a tool and die maker at Amoco Industry in Seymour. He developed the Plastic Bee Hive and holds eight patents. He was a member of Eagles, VFW Post 1925, and American Legion Post 89, all of Seymour. He moved to Jackson County in 1937.
He was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Colorado Springs, Co., a son of the late Elmer E. and Sarah Belle Fitzpatrick Cartwright. He married Martha Lind Cartwright Dec. 1, 1944, in Nebraska, and she survives in Seymour.
Other survivors include one son, Jess Alan Cartwright, Vienna, Va.; one daughter, Janet Arlene Miller, Seymour; one sister, Betty Coryea, Seymour; one half-brother, Twyman Guard, Denver, Co.; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Lou Ramp, and two brothers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with Rev. David Moss officiating. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans Post 47, and Vietnam Veterans Post 7, all of Seymour. Entombment will take place May 26 at Riverview Cemetery.

Henry Turner Rouse
Henry Turner Rouse, 78, of Freetown, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in Brown County. He had driven a bus during World War II for Camp Atterbury. He was employed with Cummins Engine Co. for 18 years and drove a truck for Rumph's Marathon, Hukill Oil Co., and for Cosco, Inc.
He was born July 5, 1922, in Taylor County, Ky., a son of the late William and Nanny Turner Hardin Rouse and a step-son of the late Robert Shively. He married Elma Ople Tedder, Sept. 13, 1941, in Adair County, Ky., and she died on May 14, 1997.
Survivors include children, Marvin and Melvin Rouse, Yavapai County, Ariz., Maurice "David" Rouse, Spraytown, Michial Rouse, Freetown, Margarett Moussa, Houston, Tex., and Marcella Hopkins, Seymour; one half-sister, Emma Hourigan, Campbellsville, Ky., one half-brother, Paul Shively, Campbellsville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, Timothy Rouse and Sherri Jones, Somerset, Ky., Chris Rouse and Jenny Rouse, Indianapolis, Mostafa Moussa, Houston, Tex., Marc Hopkins, Seymour, D. J. Rouse, Spraytown, Zebulon Rouse, Carmeleta Rouse, and Sabrina Rouse, all of Freetown, Michelle Davers, North Vernon, and Donna Garvey, Medora; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Dean Rouse, one grandson, Daryl Henry Rouse, one great grandson, Levi Miller, one brother, Fred Rouse, and three half-brothers, Robert, Charles, and LeRoy Shively.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, May 24, at the Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Rev. David Ison officiating. Burial will be at Freetown Cemetery.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to American Heart Association, American Lung Assoc., or donors choice.
Rebecca J. Branum
Rebecca J. Branum, 37, of Norman, died at 4:37 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Bloomington Hospital.
She was a member of Liberty Christian Church at Norman and was a homemaker.
She was born Jan. 29, 1964, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Harry and Bonnie (May) Fields. She had lived most of her life in Jackson County. She married Terry Branum, Aug. 1, 1987, in Norman, and he survives.
Other survivors include two children, Missy Redman, Brownstown, and T. J. Branum, Norman; one grandson, Tristan Lemarr; one brother, Tracy Lee Fields, North Vernon; and one sister, Joann Williams, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Joe Fields.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, May 24, at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, Norman.
Marvin Bolte
Marvin Bolte, 82, of Columbus, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon. He had been in failing health for four months.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jonesville. He was a retired farmer. He lived most of his life in Bartholomew County.
He was born April 11, 1919, at Bartholomew County, a son of the late Frank and Sarah Tiemeyer Bolte. He married Martha Louise Krumme, May 4, 1941, and she died Feb. 20, 1974. He then married Susie M. (Shore) Meier, April 20, 1975, and she died Feb. 10, 1982.
Survivors include five sons, David L. Bolte (wife Paula) and Tony M. Bolte (wife Connie), all of Columbus, Leroy D. Bolte (wife Sue), Brownstown, and Glenn D. Bolte (wife Sheridan) and Jeffrey D. Bolte (wife Sandra), all of Seymour; one daughter, Melody A. Wischmeier (husband Ron), Brownstown; one step-son, Jeffrey K. Meier (wife Sue), Seymour; two sisters, Hellen Schlehuser, Florida, and Norma Jean Burbrink, Jackson County; 10 grandchildren, Paul D. Bolte, Roni Jo Scarlett (husband Mike), Kristin L. Griffith (husband J. Chris), Tyler D. Wischmeier (wife Jessica), Rodney Bolte, Donna Bolte, Christopher Bolte, Craig A. Bolte, Leah R. Wischmeier, and Tina Bolte; five step-grandchildren, Rachael Meier, Matthew Butler, Michelle Meier, Kimberly Meier, and Mark Butler; and eight great grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Bolte, Braden M. Scarlett, Megan L. Griffith, Jalen C. Griffith, Mitchell L. Scarlett, Riley J. Wischmeier, Jacob Wischmeier, and Andrew Scarlett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and one brother, John Bolte.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 4, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jonesville, with Rev. Edgar Keinath officiating. Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Indiana 125th anniversary Organ Fund, or donor's choice.

Catharine A. Hardebeck
Catharine A. Hardebeck, 83, of Columbus, died at 5:11 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Parish, and worked 15 years at Reliance Shirt Factory in Columbus. She and her husband lived in Brownstown from 1965 to 1999, and lived in Columbus prior to 1965 and after 1999.
She was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Jennings County, a daughter of the Henry and Matilda Timpe Wolbers. She married Carl G. Hardebeck, May 5, 1951, at Columbus, and he died Aug. 26, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn A. Hardebeck and Joyce M. Hardebeck, both of Columbus; and one son, Robert C. Hardebeck, Seymour.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Lobner, Gertrude Lind, Clara Robertson, and Mary Pyatt, and one brother, Herman Wolbers.
A Rosary service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, Columbus. Mass of Christian burial was at St. Bartholomew Catholic Oratory, Columbus, with Father Larry Borders officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to St. Bartholomew Catholic Parish Building Fund.
E. Bruce Montgomery
E. Bruce Montgomery, 60, of Brownstown, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, July 1, at his residence.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a retired supervisor from Con-Tel Telephone Company in Seymour, and was on the deacon board at Calvary Baptist Church.
He was born March 9, 1941, at McKee, Ky., a son of the late Oscar and Emily Witt Montgomery. He married Jeanette Lewis, Jan. 2,m 1960, at McKee, Ky., and she survives.
Other survivors include two children, Gina Baughman, Brownstown, and Rhonda Montgomery, Medora; two brothers, James J.D. Montgomery, Kentucky, and Junior Montgomery, Ohio; four sisters, Delores Tyree, Geneva Coffee, Modena Keith, and Beulah Keith, all of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Amber Detri Montgomery Deaton, Thomas Bruce Baughman, Luke Anthony Baughman, and Alexus Virginia Jeanette Spicer; and one great grandson, Julian Moses Bruce Deaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son-in-law, Tony Baughman.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 4, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. R.G. Morris officiating. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Gedions International or Calvary Baptist Church.

Earl Barnes Booker
Earl Barnes Booker, 70, of Seymour, died at 9:25 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Memorial Hospital in Seymour.
He was a member of Bethel AME Church, Seymour. He was a retired butcher for 38 years with Mariah Meat Packing. He was an avid Coon hunter. He was a member of Old Timers Coon Hunting Club.
He was born Sept. 24, 1930, at Edinburgh, a son of the late Everett G. and Tille K. Barnes Booker.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Booker and David Booker (wife Cherrie), all of Seymour, and Shawn Booker, Knightstown; three daughters, Eria Hawkins and Shanna Booker, both of South Carolina, and Bonnie Hood (husband David), Seymour; two step-daughters, Amanda Brooks and Pam Goen; one step-son, Michael Goen; 13 grandchildren, Nicole Booker, Stacy Booker, Vauhxx Booker, Matthew Booker, Nathanael Booker, Jason Booker, Thad Klenovich, Jordan Rivera, Caleb Hood, Chalant Hood, Sheyxanne Booker, Paige Booker, and Logan Hayes; two brothers, Benny Booker, Seymour, and Charles William Booker, California; three sisters, Carolyn Kelley and Catherine Jean Booker, both of California, and LaDona Sue Armstrong, Columbus; three great grandchildren; and an ex-wife, Edna Booker, Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Sylvester Booker, Robert Booker, Maurice Booker, Everett Booker, and Paul Booker, and two infant brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Voss Chapel, with Pastor Terri Mimms and Elder Wnedell Chinn Sr. officiating. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5 and after noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
