George Theodore "Ted" Hazlett Sr., 79, of 302 S. Jefferson St., Medaryville, IN, passed away at 4:20 AM Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Brentwood Sub Acute Center in Burbank, IL.

He was born May 4, 1929, in Medaryville, IN, to Ames and Nellie Bennett Hazlett.

He married Doris Mae Paris on Jan. 31, 1954, in Monticello, IN. She died on Nov. 29, 2005.

He was a member of the Medaryville United Methodist Church, Medaryville Lion's Club, and the White Post Masonic Lodge #658 F&AM.

He was a former Supervisor at RCA in Monticello. He was also a retired janitor for the West Central Schools.

He lived in Medaryville his entire life.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed woodworking.

Burial will take place in the White Post Cemetery, Medaryville, IN.

Friends may call 4-8 PM EDT Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville, and one hour before the service Wednesday in the church.

A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30PM Tuesday in the funeral home.

Ervin Freshour, 95, of 3116 N 430 E, Medaryville, IN, passed away at 12:40 AM Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Starke Memorial Hospital in Knox, IN.

He was born June 6, 1913, in Gillam Township, Jasper County, IN, to Ralph and Myrtle Poisel Freshour.

His first marriage was to Esther Penrod. She died July 3, 1944. He married Jeanetta Sutherlin on Aug. 14, 1948, in Medaryville, IN. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and lived his entire life in Medaryville.

He was a member of the Medaryville United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendant and Trustee. He was a 50 Year Member of the White Post Masonic Lodge #658 F&AM, Medaryville.

He was also a member of the Music Box Society and enjoyed attending their meetings.

He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.

He attended Independence School and graduated from Medaryville High School in 1931.

He was presented the Hoosier Homestead Farm Award on Oct. 29, 2002, in Indianapolis, for the farm being in the Freshour name for over 100 years.

Darrell Lee Culp, 63, of 531 South 250 East, Francesville, IN, passed away at 1:20 AM Saturday, October 11, 2008 at his residence in Francesville, IN.

He was born April 30, 1945, in Rensselaer, IN, to Clyde and Marjorie Gerbracht Culp.
Darrell married Bonnie Walters on December 21, 1968 at the United Methodist Church in Francesville, IN. He was employed as manager of North Central Co-op in Francesville, IN. He had worked there for 31 years. Darrell was a former junior high math and science teacher at Buffalo, IN. He also taught agriculture at Ireland, IN. Darrell enjoyed attending athletic events at West Central Schools, Purdue University and Fountain Central Schools. He supported his children in all their athletic and academic endeavors. Darrell enjoyed watching all young people participate in sports and other school events. He enjoyed hunting deer, antelope and wild turkey. He treasured the many friends that he made through his hunting hobby. Darrell was also an avid Indian artifact collector. Searching for artifacts was his favorite way to relax. His many friends and neighbors knew how much he enjoyed mowing his lawn.

Robert Lee Dixon, 70, of 5905 S. Prairie Street, Star City, IN, passed away at 5:05 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the VA Regional Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born July 29, 1938, in Spencer, WV, to Thomas and Bessie Tolley Dixon.

Robert married Jean Crissinger on June 5, 1976 in Star City, IN.

Robert moved to the Beaver Township area in 1964 coming from West Virginia. He worked construction and as a mechanic when he lived in West Virginia. After moving to Indiana he worked on the saw mill and at Monon Trailer in Monon, IN.

Robert served in the US Air Force as an airplane mechanic.

Robert was a member of the Tippecanoe Christian Church. He was a former member of the Rochester Moose Lodge.

Robert enjoyed reading the Bible. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, restoring lawn tractors, and was a train and airplane enthusiast.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert was proud to be a West Virginian "hillbilly".

She was born June 13, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to Charles and Ane Hansen Mitchell.

She married Bobby E. Hounchell on Sept. 30, 1978, in Winamac, IN. He died March 2, 2007.

She was a former employee of Singer Controls, Winamac.

She enjoyed painting.
