Loretta Ethel Mudryk, 68, of 3640 E SR 14, Winamac, IN, passed away at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at her residence.
She was born September 14, 1940, in Gary, IN, to Reuben and Alva Galbreath Freshwater.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Denham, IN. She was active in the church's Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, church dinners and bazaars.
She had been a personal caregiver/homemaker for over 30 years. She had been both self employed and an employee of Pulaski Memorial Hospital Home Health Care. She also had been a cook in the Dietary Dept. of Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
She lived most of her life in Winamac, coming to the area from Gary, IN.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and bird watching.
She was a wonderful role model, teacher and caretaker.
The love and kindness she gave to everyone fills their hearts and flows on with all the lives she has touched.
She was one of the sweetest people. She was an angel on earth.

A Prayer Service will be held at 6PM EDT Wednesday in Frain Mortuary, with Pastor Lewis Stier officiating.
KENDALL OLIVER WHITROCK

Kendall Oliver Whitrock, 29, of 504 South Highway 421 Medaryville, IN died at 11:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2008 at South Bend Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.
He was born October 13, 1978 in Rensselaer, IN to Kenneth and Brenda Wayberg Whitrock.
Kendall was employed by Lambert Construction at Crown Point, IN as a concrete finisher. Kendall enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two sons. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the West Central graduating class of 1997. Kendall was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and significant others both past and present. He lived life to the fullest and made light of every situation.

Genevieve F. "Gen" Scheffer, 76, of 2092 West 100 North, Winamac, IN, passed away at 5:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at her residence in Winamac, IN.
She was born June 13, 1932, in Winamac, IN, to Martin and Theresa Nies Kuhn.
She was married to Clarence E. (Ben) Scheffer on Nov. 25, 1954 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski, IN. He died Aug. 13, 2007. She was a former employee of Indiana Bell Telephone Co. and the United Telephone Co. She was a longtime cook and retired as the head cook for the Winamac Community High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac, where she was a member of the Church Choir and was a weekday Mass server. She also was a member of the Christian Mothers, Ladies of Charity, and the Daughters of Isabella, all associated with St. Peter's Church. She also belonged to the Razzle-Dazzle Red Hats and was known at the club as “Lady Song Bird”. She was also a member of a card club, a bunco club, and a euchre Club. She loved to play cards, travel, read, as well as spend time with her family.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Pulaski Memorial Hospice, St. Peters church or the American Cancer Society.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held 7:30 PM EDT on Sunday at Frain Mortuary. That service will be immediately followed by services by the Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella.

Robert C. Ewing, 90, of 303 North Bill Street, Francesville, IN, passed away at 3:24 PM Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN.
He was born June 16, 1918, in Mishawaka, IN, to Harold and Ocie Nifong Ewing.
He married Alma L. Linback on August 29, 1940, in Idaville, IN. She survives.
He was member of the American Legion Post in Francesville, and a life member of the VFW Post #1728, Winamac, IN.
He was also a member of the First Christian Church, Winamac.
He retired from the US Postal Service after 25 years of service. He was also a former brakeman for the Ford Railroad System in Detroit, MI. He was also a former employee of the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and a bus driver for the city bus system in Laporte, IN.
He formerly lived in Winamac and Brookston, and has lived in Francesville the past 24 years.
He enjoyed woodworking and making picnic tables. He made over 300 picnic tables. Many were for parks in Francesville and Monon.
He also enjoyed baseball, fishing and bowling.

Marvin Eugene Elston, 80, of 6800 West Joliet Road, Indian Head Park, IL, formerly of Francesville, IN., passed away at 8:05 PM Saturday, September 13, 2008 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital in LaGrange, IL.
He was born February 23, 1928, in Monon, IN, to Edward and Elsie Strong Elston. Marvin attended the Francesville First Christian Church in Francesville, IN. He served in the US Air Force. Marvin enjoyed collecting coins and antiques.

Albert M. Scheffer, 89, of 519 South Franklin Street, Winamac, IN, passed away at 2:10 PM Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Hickory Creek @ Winamac in Winamac, IN.
He was born June 12, 1919, in Pulaski, IN, to Henry and Katherine Miller Scheffer. Dick married Anna Jeannette Roth on Oct 15, 1947 in Winamac, IN. She died August 16, 1977. Dick delivered fuel oil and gasoline for Farm Bureau Co-op in Winamac, IN. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac. Dick enjoyed repairing bicycles and lawn mowers and selling them. He was a frequent volunteer at the Good Samaratan Shop in Winamac. Dick enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
