Andrew Scott Carmichael

Services for Andrew Scott Carmichael, 15, of 3070N 825W, Royal Center, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home.

Andrew died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, from injuries sustained in a pickup accident on Cass County Road 450N, one-quarter of a mile east of 800W in Royal Center.

Born July 20, 1983, in Logansport, he was the son of Russell Carmichael and Sheryl Fergus.

He was a freshman at Pioneer High School.

Andrew was a member of the Pioneer High School basketball team, baseball team, and chess team, finishing 31st in the State Finals. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. He was a Denver Bronco fan and an avid baseball card collector.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Russell and Rogena Carmichael, Royal Center; his mother and stepfather, Sheryl and Duane Ahnert, Greentown; two sisters, Abbie and Alix Carmichael, Royal Center; one stepsister, Janell Ahnert, Peru; maternal grandfather, Jim Fergus, Monticello; maternal grandmother, Jolene Fergus, Logansport; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Patsy Carmichael and maternal great-grandmother, Margretta Fergus, all of Logansport; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Rev. Donald L. Ruhl will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Charles V. Wilburn

DENVER -- Charles V. Wilburn, 83, Peru, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Arrangements are pending at McClain Funeral Home.

Willo L. Grevis Quinn

BOURBON -- Services for Willo L. Grevis Quinn, 81, of 522 W. Broadway, Logansport, formerly of Star City, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Deaton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Quinn died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 1999, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.

Born Oct. 10, 1917, in Bourbon, she was the daughter of Martha Gochenour, who survives in Bourbon. She was married to Dan Grevis on April 20, 1946, who died on Jan. 2, 1959. On April 25, 1964, she was married to Dallas Quinn, who died on Dec. 16, 1984.

She was a nurse at Logansport State Hospital until retiring in 1984. She was also a homemaker.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Hodges, Bourbon; Maxine Trowbridge, Etna Green; one brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Marilyn Gochenour, Bourbon.

One sister, Verna Floor, and one brother, Louis Gochenour, preceded in death.

Pastor Bonnie Shoaf will officiate the services. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Hospice and Habitat for Humanity.

Martha M. Teel

PERU -- Services for Martha M. Teel, 92, New Orleans, La., formerly of Denver, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

She died at 7 a.m. Monday, April 12, 1999, in Crescent City Health Care Center, New Orleans.

Chaplain Steve Fleck will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Daniel J. Nordman

KEWANNA -- Services for Daniel J. Nordman, Jr., 37, Silver Lake, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home.

Mr. Nordman died at 4:57 a.m. Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Highway 114 and Wabash County Road 500S, North Manchester.

The Rev. Todd Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lake Bruce.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Wesley T. Ranton

WINAMAC -- Services for Wesley T. Ranton, 86, of 3500 Shiloh Springs Road, Trotwood, Ohio, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Frain Mortuary.

Mr. Ranton died at 7:18 a.m. Monday, April 12, 1999, in Shiloh Springs Nursing Home, Trotwood, Ohio.

Born July 4, 1912, in Yakima, Wash., he was married Aug. 7, 1948, in Pulaski to Inez W. Winter, who died April 12, 1998.

A World War II veteran, he had resided in the Dayton, Ohio, area since 1952. Before that he had lived in Greenville, Ohio.

He was the former owner of a stained glass company that installed stained glass windows in churches throughout the country. He also was a claims adjuster for Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Ohio, and was the retired owner of Al’s Auto Glass in Dayton, Ohio.

Officiating at the services will be William Mathys. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery South, Pulaski.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday in the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Robert Wayne Fleming

Robert Wayne Fleming, 42, of 7129W 325N, Royal Center, died at 11:43 a.m. Monday in Logansport Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Dorothy E. Neff

Services for Dorothy E. Neff, 76, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Kroeger Funeral Home.

She died at 10:07 p.m. Monday, April 12, 1999, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born July 10, 1922, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of Clarence L. and Ethel Croutcher Dubuque. She was married Dec. 11, 1943, to Earl S. M. Neff ,who died Nov. 9, 1983.

Mrs. Neff, a food service employee, retired from the Logansport State Hospital.

She was a member of Ninth Street Christian Church.

Surviving are one son, Clarence Earl Neff, Payette, Idaho; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Rosentreter, Monticello; one brother, Harold "Bud" Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

One daughter-in-law, Nola Neff, one brother, and one sister preceded in death.

The Rev. Jim Beaumont will officiate the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Betty Lou Plummer

MONTICELLO -- Services for Betty Lou Plummer, 66, of 1819 N. Labrador Road, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Amana Baptist Church.

She died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Pastor Tom Bennett will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the IOOF Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 17 in Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service in Amana Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Robert G. ‘Bob’ Melenovsky

Services for Robert G. "Bob" Melenovsky, 69, of Logansport, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Albert Lea, Minn., Oklahoma City, Okla., and New Carrollton, Md., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Calvary Presbyterian Church.

He died at 5:53 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Kokomo.

Born May 11, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of Godfrey and Pearl Kovach Melenovsky. He was married to Joan Starman Melenovsky, who preceded in death on Jan. 12, 1983. On July 3, 1994, in Iowa, he was married to Susan R. Reihmann, who survives.

Mr. Melenovsky graduated from Roosevelt High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1947. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, Second Infantry Division, then the 101 Reserve Artillery Battalion, serving in the Korean War. Upon discharge from service in 1950, he joined Wilson and Company as an accounting clerk in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After several areas of increased responsibility, he was named department foreman in 1955. In 1961, Mr. Melenovsky and his family were transferred to the Wilson plant in Albert Lea, Minn., where he served the company as a division superintendent of processing. In 1965, he and his family again transferred with Wilson Foods to New Carrollton, Md., where he was plant superintendent of the Briggs Plant.

In 1969, Mr. Melenovsky and his family moved again, this time to Logansport, where he was named plant superintendent of the new facility. In 1976, he and his family were transferred to company headquarters in Oklahoma City, Okla., where he was named traveling superintendent of processed meats. He returned to Logansport as General Manager of the Wilson plant in 1978. He continued in this capacity until his retirement in 1986. This completed 36 years of service to Wilson and Company.

In his early years in Cedar Rapids and Albert Lea, Mr. Melenovsky was very active in Jay-Cees. He belonged to the Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce, where he served as vice president. He was also a member of the Logansport Noon Kiwanis Club, where he served as president. He was also a 40-year member of the Elks Lodge.

Mr. Melenovsky very much enjoyed his grandchildren, traveling in his motor home around the country, and gardening.

Also surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Lisa Melenovsky, Boston, Mass., Robert J. and Sherry Melenovsky, Rochester Hills, Mich., and Mark A. Melenovsky, Boston; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Alvin Vondracek, Swisher, Iowa; one brother-in-law and his wife, Jim and Martha Serbousek, Coggon, Iowa; a sister-in-law and her husband, Betty and Jim McGrane, St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren, Katie Melenovsky, Kerry Melenovsky and Christopher Melenovsky; several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Mary Ann Serbousek, also preceded in death.

The Rev. Doug Mankell will officiate at the services. Burial will be private.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in Kroeger Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Leo Henley

Robert Leo Henley, 74, of 8034 N. Royal Center Pike, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2000, in his residence.

Arrangements are pending in McCloskey-Hamilton Gundrum Funeral Home.

John Paul Emmons

Services for John Paul Emmons, 53, of 601 W. Linden Avenue, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

He died at 12 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000, in his residence.

Born July 26, 1946, in Logansport, he was the son of John C. and Juanita Watson Emmons. His mother survives, and resides in Logansport. Mr. Emmons was divorced.

Mr. Emmons was employed as a service station attendant.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Also surviving are Mr. Emmons’ fiancee, Kathy Houk, Logansport; one son, Michael Shawn Houk, Logansport; one daughter, Samantha Lynne Emmons, Logansport; two brothers, George W. Emmons, Logansport, and David Lee Emmons, Lake Cicott; three sisters, Sharon Ann Widner, Winamac, Diane Marie Johnson, LaGrange, and Shirley Ann Lee, Logansport.

One brother preceded in death.

Interment will be private.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the service in the funeral home.

Vera McCain Myers

Vera McCain Myers, 78, 2608 Stadium Drive, died at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are pending in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

D. Wade Louthain

ROYAL CENTER -- A memorial service for D. Wade Louthain, 80, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Route 6, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in Pisgah Christian Church, Logansport.

He died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000, in McAllen Heart Hospital, McAllen, Texas.

Born Oct. 31, 1919, in Adams Township, Cass County, he was the son of Ellery A. and Mary Evaleen Kingery Louthain. On Aug. 4, 1940, in Macy, he was married to Mary Looker, who preceded in death on Sept. 1, 1992. On Feb. 24, 1996, in Howard County, he was married to Anna Corn Houk, who survives.

Mr. Louthain was a retired pattern maker with RCA in Monticello, and a farmer in White County. He was also a rural milk route driver.

He attended Pisgah Christian Church in Logansport. He liked to travel and make things, loved to farm and was an avid square dancer, active in local, state and national square dancing associations as an officer. He also supported 4-H.

He was a 1937 graduate of Irving Township High School, Howard County.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, P W and Sandra Louthain, Deep River, Conn.; two daughters, Carol Johns, Fishers, and Linda and Mike Ross, Logansport; two stepsons and their wives, Norm and Mary Jay Yoder, Elkhart, and Steve and Tina Corn, Peru; one brother, John Louthain, Sunbury, Ohio; five sisters, Charlotte Hunter, Kokomo, Joanne Carter, Thorntown, Anna Carter, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jeanne Allen, Kokomo, and Marilyn Skaggs, Shipshewana; two brothers-in-law, Dana Looker, Wabash, and Don Cat, Kokomo; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

One granddaughter and one sister preceded in death.

Pastor John Dixon will officiate at the services. Burial will be private in Pisgah Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before services at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideons or Light.

Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Louis A. Smith

PERU -- Services for Louis A. Smith, 83, Rt. 1, Denver, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

He died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 1999, in the Continuing Care Unit of Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

The Rev. J. Robert Clark will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Chili Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

George Glassburn

PERU -- Services for George Glassburn, 74, of 85 W. Warren St., will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

He died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Pastor Jerry Kelley and Pastor David Jodry will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Galen E. "Fuzz" Davidson

MONTICELLO -- Services for Galen E. "Fuzz" Davidson, 79, of 205 E. Fisher St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.

He died at 1:43 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Twin Lakes Village.

Born April 18, 1920, in White County, he was the son of George and Ima Stillwell Davidson. On July 21, 1945, in Burnettsville, he was married to Hilda Brechbiel, who survives.

Mr. Davidson had resided in Burnettsville for 43 years before moving to Monticello for four years ago. He had lived at Twin Lakes Village for the past two years.

He was a retired carpenter, employed by several contractors.

He was a member of Burnettsville Church of the Brethren and had served in many church offices.

Mr. Davidson was a graduate of Idaville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2231.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dorinda Stackhouse and Shelby Shepherd, both of Logansport; two sons, Monte Davidson, Monticello, and Kirby Davidson, Burnettsville; three brothers, Virl T. Davidson, Arizona, William Davidson, California, and Merrill "Shark" Davidson, Monticello; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Janet Hildreth will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burnettsville Church of the Brethren.
