Mary J. Gallmeyer, 56, of Fort Wayne, a native of Decatur, died on Monday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Among survivors are her husband, James L. Gallmeyer; three daughters; a son; and a sister, Mrs. Terry L. (Linda S.) Shoaf of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in E. Harper and Son Funeral Home, New Haven, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.
Ardus G. Sprunger
Ardus G. Sprunger, 79, of Fort Wayne, died there Sunday. She was a native of Berne.
Surviving are two sons, a daughter, and a brother.
Funeral services were held today, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Carol Hamilton McKean
Carol Hamilton McKean, 62, of Decatur, died at home on Wednesday.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
Calvin W. Caston
Calvin W. Caston, 61, of Willshire, Ohio, died in Adams County Memorial Hospuital at 2:33 a.m. today.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
Joy E. Ewell
Joy E. Ewell, 76, of Decatur, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at home.
She was born on August 9, 1927 in Willshire, Ohio, to Homer and Wilma McGough Minx.
She married Ervin Ewell on January 30, 1955; he died on September 9, 1997.
She and her husband owned and operated My Friends Tavern in Redkey for 15 years. She also worked at Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington in the medical records department for 12 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Cook of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs, Mark (Susan) Walters of Decatur; a son, Michael Ewell of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Leola) Carr of Celina, Ohio, and Patricia Bess of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A great-grandson is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice in Fort Wayne.
Rosie E. Lough
Rosie E. Lough, 90, of Decatur, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday in Woodcrest Bursing Center. She was a lifetime Adams County resident and a homemaker.
She was born on October 25, 1913 in Preble to William and Pearl Gause Cook.
She married Everett C. Lough on August 19, 1941; he died on January 18, 1990.
Surviving are a son, Thomas E. Lough of Craigville; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Judy A.) Ehrsam of Ossian; four brothers, Virgil, Richard, and Herbert Cook, all of Decatur, and Willie Cook of Kendallville; a sister, Isabel King of Decatur; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Five brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the Cancer Angel Fund of the Adams County Community Foundation.
Claude N. Lewis
Claude N. Lewis, 83, Leo-Cedarville, died May 27. He was a native of Adams County.
Surviving are his wife, L. Louise Lewis, and some nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
Georgia M. Briede-Henizer
Georgia M. Briede-Henizer, 26, of Portland, died at home at 7 a.m. Thursday.
She was born on January 1, 1978, in Decatur to Mike and Esther Seip Briede. Her father lives in Palm Bay, Florida. Her mother, now married to Kent Cochran, lives in Decatur.
She was a student at Ivy Tech College in Fort Wayne and a 1995 graduate of Bellmont High School.
Other survivors are her husband, Eugene "Gene" Henizer; a brother, Steven Briede of Decatur; two sisters, Michele and Paige Briede, both of Decatur; two half-brothers, Keith Johnson and Christopher Johnson, both of Decatur; the maternal stepgrandmother, Patsy Seip of Live Oak, Florida; the paternal grandmother, "Skip" Briede of Decatur; and the biological father and stepmother, Hank and Sue Johnson of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Monday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Robert W. Hollenbach, 74, a resident of rural Decatur since 1978, died Wednesday in Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, on August 10, 1932, to George and Elverta Weaver Hollenbach.
Willliam S. Insley Sr.
William W. Insley Sr., 83, Fort Wayne, died Monday in Tomball Regional Hospital at Tomball, Texas. He was a native of Decatur. Among survivors is a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, Fort Wayne, with burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Visiting hours are noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
Robert C. Martin
Robert C. Martin, 91, Auburn, a former Decatur resident, died Monday in Spencerville. He was born in Adams County on May 26, 1915, to Frank and Sarah Arnold Martin. He was married on October 15, 1941 to Nora A. Wilson, who died on September 12, 1985.

Vincent J. "Vince" Longberry, 41, Decatur, died Friday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Velma M. Arnold
Velma M. Arnold, 88, Berne, died on Monday in the nursing home at Swiss Village Retirement Community. She was born on August 7, 1918, in Hastings, Michigan, to Glenn and Cecila Brezee Kellogg. She married Willard H. Arnold on March 4, 1939; he died on April 23, 1999. She had been a secretary at Hastings Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Bryant Wesleyan Church. Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Minor of Bloomington and Priscilla Keller of Portland; two sons, Philip Arnold of Noblesville and Richard Arnold of Fort Collins, Colorado; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Lauer Funeral Home at Hastings, with burial in Hastings Township Cemetery. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. today at Swiss Village and 12:30-2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.

Mary A. Newell, 86, Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday at home. She was a native of Berne Among survivors are two sons, including Hugh A. Conrad of Decatur, and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, with burial in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Mary A. Erp, 87, rural Decatur, died on Saturday in Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 2, 1919, in Adams County to Jesse A. and Edith Beaber Ray. She married Paul R. Erp on July 9, 1938; he died on February 20, 1990. She was a retired receptionist and bookkeeper at Decatur Publishing Co. and was a member of Union United Methodist Church, rural Decatur, and the Happy Homemakers' Club. Surviving are a nephew, Ronald Ray of Berne, and three nieces, Mrs. Jack D. (Bonnie M.) Ray of Belleview, Florida, and Mrs. Allen (Jean Ann) Shoaf and Mrs. Ronnie (Deborah) Butcher, both of Decatur. Four brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, with burial in MRE Cemetery, rural Berne. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the church or to the Cancer Angel Fund within the Adams County Community Foundation.

Arnold C. Stoppenhagen, 94, Fort Wayne, died Tuesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was a native of Adams County. He was the principal for many years of Emmanuel Lutheran School (Soest). Among survivors are his wife,; three sons, two daughters and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, with entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, Fort Wayne.
