Mrs. Wall was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. She was a member of St. Mary Rosary Sodality, Forever Friends, Third Order of St. Francis and MacDowell Music Club.

Carleton L. Trook, 90, Huntington, IN, died at 1:16 AM on Monday May 2, 2005 at Norwood Nursing Home, Huntington, IN.
Carlton Trook was born October 22, 1914 in Miami County, IN to Harry and Carrie Jarrett Trook.???His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Trook married Rosalyn C. Gallagher in St Charles Catholic Church, Peru, IN on October 7, 1935. She survives in Huntington, IN.
Mr. Trook was a conductor for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 34 years.
Mr. Trook was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. He was a former chairman of the Huntington County Democratic Party for 4 years. He served with Senator Birch Bayh and Senator Harke. He was a life member of United Transportation Union, a long time member of the Exchange Club and member of Jefferson Jackson Club. Mr. Trook was an avid rare coin and antique dealer for many years.

Edward Reed 79, Huntington, IN died Tuesday April 26, 2005 at (7:32PM) at Huntington Parkview Hospital, Huntington, Indiana.
Mr. Reed was born May 9, 1925 in Girard, Ohio to Clifford and Edna Cantwelll Reed. His parents preceded him in death.
He married Ellen McNally on October 7, 1950. She survives and lives in Huntington, IN.
He graduated from Girard High School and Youngstown State University with a degree in Business Administration and Education. He was a teacher at Beloit High School in Ohio and later an Industrial Engineer at Schacht Rubber Company and Eagle Picher in Huntington.
He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He served in the Navy during WW11.
Survivors include: 4 Sons: Jim Reed, Fort Wayne, IN.; Kevin Reed, Lordstown, OH.; Ed Reed, Grand Rapids, MI. and Dave Reed, Howard, OH. 1 Brother John Reed, Girard, OH. 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great-grandchild and 3 step-grandchildren.
Deceased: 1 Brother: James Reed
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2005 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard, Ohio with Father James Korda officiating.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio

Mrs. VanMeter was born in Chicago, IL on December 23, 1938 to Jack and Evelyn Witt. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Ervin (Jack) VanMeter on October 6, 1979 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2004.
Mrs. VanMeter was a homemaker. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church.
Survivors include: 1 daughter: Wanda Maresca, Ventura, CA. 3 Step-daughters: Mrs. David (Marsha) Dalton, Hartford City, In. Mrs. Steve (Vickie) Yahne, Goshen, In. Gina Foster , Woodland, CA. 2 Step sons: Jake Taggart, CA, and Alan VanMeter, Huntington, IN. 9 Grandchildren.

Mr. Hosler was born June 9, 1916 to Kenneth O. and Hilda I. Fahrnow Hosler. His parents preceded him in death.
He married Eloise Hannon on October 26, 1941. She survives in Huntington.
Mr. Hosler was a Tool & Die Maker for CTS Corp. in Ft. Wayne, IN. He retired in 1981 after 20 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Huntington, IN. and the First Presbyterian Church Huntington, IN.
Survivors include: 1 son: James R. Hosler, Dallas, TX. 1 Daughter: Joyce A. Roush, Culver, IN. 1 Brother: Jack R. Hosler, Leesburg, IN. 1 Step Brother: Peter H. Bridge, Decatur, IN. 5 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 Stepbrother: Peter H. Bridge.

Bertha Elizabeth Sears, 91, formerly of Huntington died at 11:00 PM Friday April 15, 2005 at Americare Living Center Elkhart, IN.
Mrs. Sears was born April 10, 1914 in Catlin, IL to William and Minnie (Stambaugh) Lopp. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sears married Kenneth L. Sears on May 28, 1937 in Huntington, IN. He passed away December 25, 1955.
She worked for Schacht Rubber Company, Huntington and Hunckler Products, Huntington, from were she retired. She was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington. She Attended Olivet Nazarene College in Olivet, IL

Survivors include: 4 Sons: Carlton (Larry) Sears, Elkhart, IN., Rev. Kenneth E. Sears, Rising Sun, IN., Steven Sears, Mishawaka, IN. and Fred Sears, Colorado Spring, CO. 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: 6 Sisters: Achsaleone Lopp, Mabel Jones, Evelyn Keller, Maxine Kokx ,Susie Fulcher and, Ruth Gouch. 3 brothers: Billy Lopp, Claude Lopp and Howard Lopp. 1 Grandson: Michael Sears and 1 Great Grandson Son: Geoffrey Spittal.
Calling will be on Tuesday April 19 from 6 to 8 PM at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St. Huntington, IN.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday April 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM, with one hour of calling prior to service, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Dunlop and Rev. Kenneth Sears officiating.

Pope John Paul II
Karol Jozef Wojtyla, also known as Pope John Paul II was born on May 18, 1920 in Wadowice, Poland. He was the second of two sons born to Karol Wojtyla Sr. and Emilia Kaczorowska Wojtyla.
He was ordained as a priest on November 1, 1946. Father Wojtyla became a professor of moral theology and social ethics in the major seminary of Krakow and in the Faculty of Theology of Lublin Catholic University.
Pope Pius XII appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Krakow in 1958. In 1964, he was nominated Archbishop of Krakow by Pope Paul VI, who also made him a cardinal in 1967. Cardinal Wojtyla was one of the youngest cardinal in the Church and a moderate reformer, with a strategy that honored the beliefs and traditions of Catholicism while at the same time accommodating the Communist government.
On October 16, 1978, Cardinal Wojtyla was chosen by the Sacred College of Cardinals as the next pope. He took the name John Paul II and became the first Slavic pope and the youngest in 132 years.
Pope John Paul II was a divine leader with sharp intellect, emotion and spirituality. He was welcomed by Catholic and non-Catholics alike, and credited for his morale-boosting trips to numerous countries. Ultimately, Pope John Paul II believed that prayer and faith can make people happy and change the world.

Barbara Carmien
Barbara Carmien, 72 Huntington, IN, died on March 29, 2005 at 8:50 pm at her home.
Mrs. Carmien was born July 30, 1932 in Lagrange, IN. to Ronald K. and Helen Elizabeth Brown Noel. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Carmien married Elson Carmien on November 7, 1953. He survives.
Mrs. Carmien was a nurse at Huntington Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church, Parkview Methodist School of Nursing Alumni, Member and past President of Bay View Woman’s Council, Bay View Association Member and Life Member of Bay View Campus Club.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Chris Carmien and Cameron Carmien, both of Huntington, IN. and 2 Daughters: Mrs. Robert (Carey) Johnston, Huntington, IN and Catherine Carmien, Fort Wayne, IN. 6 Grandchildren. 1 Sister, Shirley Bean, Laotto, IN.
Deceased: 1 sister: Carol Ann Noel
Viewing will be Thursday March 31, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Mrs. Miller was born April 5, 1915 in Huntington County to Grover and Hazel Class Kline. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Miller married Gerald H. Miller on May 27, 1933. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2003.
Mrs. Miller was co-owner of Huser Cigar Company in Huntington, Indiana. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Red Cross.
Survivors include: 1 Son: John Miller, Huntington, Indiana and 1 Daughter Mrs. Gary (Sarah) Spitler, Angola, Indiana. 1 Sister: Mrs. Jane Scher. 4 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Bonnie Ellen Kline and 3 Brothers: Robert Kline, Gilbert Kline and Richard Kline.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, Indiana from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, with Rev. Marti Lundy officiating.

Mrs. Platt was born November 21, 1951 in Huntington, IN. to Robert and Phyllis Forsyth Husband. She was a 1970 graduate of Huntington North High School. She was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church in Roanoke, IN. Mrs. Platt married Phillip L Platt on June 7, 1975 in Christ’s United Methodist Church, Roanoke, IN. Mr. Platt survives and lives in Roanoke, IN.
Mrs. Platt was an employee of Huntington County Community Foundation and a former employee of Hiner Transport in Huntington, IN.
Additional survivors include: Her parents, Robert and Phyllis Husband, Roanoke, IN. A Step-son- Christopher Platt, Pittsburgh, PA. 1 Sister: Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Holzinger, Roanoke, IN.

Mr. Herrberg, 90 formally of Huntington, IN, died March 17, 2005 at his residence in Naples Florida.
Mr. Herrberg was born August 13, 1914 in Palmer, Massachusetts to Andrew & Ellen (Agostuk) Klodzizek. His Parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Herrberg married Berniece A. Johnson on May 22, 1945. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1988.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the Signal Corps, Stationed in Washington and Oregon states. He attended college and became an electrical engineer, working on defense contracts for Memcor Engineering and Raytheon he retired in 1977.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include: 3 sons: Jerome E. Herrberg M.D., Columbus, IN., Steven A. Herrberg, Fort Wayne, IN., Jeffrey J. Herrberg M.D., Naples Florida. 1 daughter: Mrs. Bernita R. Melvin, Evansville, IN. 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his foster mother Maggie Herrberg and 2 brothers.

Mrs. Kannapel was Owner/Operator of Bon -Ton Beauty Shop. She had been employed at Memcor E-Systems for 10 years, prior to retirement in 1978.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary and Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and AARP.
Survivors include: 1 son: Paul Kannapel and his wife Marvel, Ft, Wayne; 1 daughter: Mrs. John David (Kay) Schmidt, Walton, KA; 3 grandchildren. 1 sister: Doris Wetters, Old Mission, MI and Mount Dora, FL.
