Robert G. Hedrick, age 79, 2926 West 550 South, Huntington, died at 12:40 a.m., Friday (June 17, 2005) at his home.
Mr. Hedrick was a self-employed carpenter and co-owner of the Mt. Etna Sawmill since 1946, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Horse Shoe Club of Huntington and Avon, FL. A lifetime resident of Huntington County, Mr. Hedrick graduated from Monument City High School in 1943. In March of 1945, he entered the United States Army serving his country until his honorable discharge in November of 1946.
Mr. Hedrick was born in Huntington County on October 25, 1925, a son of Jonah Edkar and Bertha (King) Hedrick. He married Mildred Aufdenkampe on July 31, 1948 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years - Millie Hedrick of Huntington; 1 son - Tim (Traci) Hedrick of Huntington; 2 daughters - Mrs. Steve (Ann) Freds of Huntington, Mrs. Jeff (Jo) Paul of Huntington; daughter-in-law - Julie Hedrick; 1 brother - Jim (Pat) Hedrick of Huntington; 2 sisters - Mrs. Vaughn (Mae) Archbold of Huntington and Mrs. Doyle (Jean) Paul of Huntington; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A son - Phil Hedrick, and sisters - Rheva Parrott and Devon Brown, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday (June 19, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary where the rosary will be held at 5:30 pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday (June 20, 2005) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington with Father Gary Sigler officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, with military graveside services being conducted by the V. F. W. Post #2689.

Robert A. “Rob” Henn, age 53, 323 West Park Drive, Huntington, died at 9:38 a.m. Monday (June 16, 2008) at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.
Rob was employed at Our Sunday Visitor for the past 5 years. Prior to that, he was with Pyle Industries, Inc. for 18 years and Schacht Rubber Company for 8 years in Human Resource Services. Rob also worked for Meldisco for 3 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge #837, Elks Club, La Fontaine Golf Course and Norwood Golf Course, all of Huntington.
Rob was born on May 13, 1955 in Holyoke, Maryland, the son of Robert L. and Joanne S. (Secrist) Henn. His mother passed away on Nov. 26, 2003. He was a 1973 graduate of Huntington North High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. Rob was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity at Adrian College.
Survivors include his father and stepmother - Robert L. and Emmaline P. Henn of Huntington; one brother and sister-in-law - David A. and Diane Henn of Huntington; one nephew - Tyler Henn of Huntington; two nieces - Jessica Henn and Allison Henn both of Huntington and one aunt - Donabelle Duesler of Cromwell, IN.
Visitation will be 2 - 7 p.m. Thursday (June 19, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday (June 20, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. David Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.

Robert E. Pearson, age 78, of Lake City, Florida, died Wednesday (September 27, 2006) at his home.
Mr. Pearson worked for many years as a supervisor at the former Schacht Rubber Company in Huntington before moving to Florida. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Pearson was born on June 23, 1928 in Huntington to Edward C. and Ruby (Bailey) Pearson. On October 31, 1954, in Andrews, he married Marline Hendricks and she survives in Florida.
Survivors include two sons - Dennis (Tammy) Hendricks of Sweetser, IN and Robert M. (Barbara) Pearson of Wabash, IN; two brothers - Herbert J. (Jeannine) Pearson of Decatur, IN and Rex A. (Marsha) Pearson of Huntington; one sister - Marjory (Donald) Ramsey of Huntington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A son, James Hendricks, and brother, Gerald Pearson, preceded him in death.
A family graveside service and burial will be at a later date at Andrews Riverside Cemetery, Andrews, IN. Bailey-Love Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Robert Joseph Potvin, age 60, Andrews, IN, died Tuesday (January 17, 2006) at 6:05 p.m. at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Potvin was a truck driver for over 40 years and had worked for See’s Equipment in Huntington for 6 years. He moved in December of 1992 to Huntington County coming from Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Potvin was born in Rouyn, Quebec, Canada, on September 1, 1945, the son of Patrick and Helen (Lauzon) Potvin. He married Kathleen Rae Flynn on March 26, 1975 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years - Kathleen Rae (Flynn) Potvin of Andrews, IN; one daughter - Marie Kelpin of London, Ontario; his father - Patrick Potvin of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada; two aunts - Cecile Keall and Beth Potvin; cousin - Paul Potvin of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and two grandchildren. In addition to his mother, brothers Gerald Potvin and Patrick Potvin preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Saturday (January 21, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Sunday (January 22, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Brent Birdsall officiating. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County, IN.

Robert “Joe” Prout, age 80, 524 Polk Street, Huntington died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday (May 13, 2008) at the Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN.
Mr. Prout retired as Principal of Washington Center Township Elementary in Whitley County where he held that position for over 20 years. He began his teaching career at Bippus High School teaching Industrial Arts and Social Studies. Joe also taught at Cowan High School in Delaware County and Mississinewa High School in Grant County. His service as principal began at Sulphur Springs in Henry County and continued at Kewanna in Fulton County and Southern Wells. He was in education for over 41 years.
Mr. Prout was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Huntington Metro Kiwanis serving as Treasurer for many years. Joe was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Huntington County Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at the Forks of the Wabash. Joe enjoyed building homes and doing carpentry work and, in his early years, he enjoyed oil painting.
Joe was born on October 19, 1927 in Indianapolis the son of Ray and Mary (Trask) Prout. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1945 and earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Arts and his Masters Degree in Education from Ball State University. He also served as Fireman First Class with the United States Navy during W.W. II. Joe married Anita M. Eickhoff on August 2, 1953 in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years - Anita M. Prout of Huntington; one son - Mark R. (Julie) Prout of Hartford City, IN: one daughter - Marie L. (Robert) DeWeese of Warren, IN; one brother - Ray T. (Pauline) Prout of Lady Lake, FL; one sister - Mary Ann (Les) Chanley of Vincennes, IN. Seven grandchildren - Travis (Becky) Bolinger of Huntington, Amanda (Jon) Bordeaux of Warren, Michelle Bolinger of Warren, Douglas Prout of Hartford City, Liz Bolinger, Thomas Bolinger and Robby Bolinger all of Warren and many nieces and nephews. One brother, Jack Prout, and a sister, Martha Wood, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Thursday (May 15, 2008) from 3 - 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday (May 16, 2008) at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 N. La Fontaine Street, Huntington with an hour of visitation prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Richard Lofgren will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN. The V.F.W. Post #2689 will perform military graveside rites.

Robert M. Rickert, age 87, Huntington, died Thursday (August 7, 2008) at 11:37 a.m. at the Select Specialty Care in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Rickert was a lifetime resident and farmer in Warren Township. He graduated from Bippus High School in 1938 and was a member of the Emmanuel Community Church in Ft. Wayne, Eel River Masonic Lodge #510 in South Whitley and the Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Wayne. Bob was a past president of the Bippus Lions Club and a member of the REMC Board of Directors for 37 years, serving as president for 22 years. He also served on the Huntington County Community School Board, the Huntington County Farm Bureau, and the Huntington County Extension Committee and was active in 4-H work for several years.
Bob was born on April 30, 1921 in Huntington County, the son of Elmer Frederick and Florence (Bechtold) Rickert. He was united in marriage to Mary Alice (Myers) Schwob on April 14, 1956 in Huntington County.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years - Mary Alice Rickert of Huntington; two sons - David Schwob (Cheri Van Winkle) Rickert of Ft. Wayne and Danny Schwob (Judy Harvill) Rickert of Ft. Wayne; two sisters - Geneva (Keith) Harris of Huntington and Treva Schaeffer of West Lake, OH; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A son, Douglas Robert Schwob Rickert, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 - 7 p.m. Sunday (August 10, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday (August 11, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Dennis Miller and Rev. Ray Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.

Robert Lee Spillman, age 72, 915 Clark Street, Huntington, died at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday (March 6, 2008) at his home.
Mr. Spillman retired from Dana where he worked for over 40 years as a machinist. Robert served as a SP4 in the United States Army during the Cold War.
Robert was born on July 17, 1935, in Logansport, the son of Carl and Bessy Mae (Rue) Spillman. He married Carol Woehler on April 25, 1964, in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years - Carol Spillman of Huntington, two sons - Jerry L. Spillman of Indianapolis, and Todd A. Spillman of Andrews; one daughter - Kathy R. Ankrom of Fulton, IL; one brother - Burl Spillman of Mishawaka, IN; and 8 grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Tyre.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday (March 10, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with George Dorsett officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County, with military graveside services provided by the V.F.W. Post #2689.

Robert John Thomas Thobe, 57, 1534 Walnut Street, Huntington, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday (March 13, 2008) at his home.
Mr. Thobe worked for Ottenweller, in Ft. Wayne, as a press brake operator/supervisor for 16 years. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post #85, a member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 and the Eagles Lodge # 823 all of Huntington. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the United States Army.
Bob was born September 2, 1950 in Mercer County, Celina, Ohio the son of Victor Herbert and Henrietta Ann (Varno) Thobe. He graduated from New Bremen (Ohio) High School in 1968.
Survivors include his mother - Henrietta Thobe of Sidney, Ohio; his fiancé - Melisse Brosamer of Huntington and her children - Brandon and Travis Brosamer; one son - Chris R. (Gena) Thobe of New Bremen, Ohio; one daughter - Stacey L. (Dale Storer) Thobe of Wapakoneta, Ohio; three brothers - Ed (Brenda) Thobe of New Bremen, Ohio, Gary (Carla) Thobe of Coldwater, Ohio and Jack (Donna) Thobe of New Bremen, Ohio; three sisters - Bev Sealscott of Celina, Ohio, Linda (Dennis) Gross of Celina, Ohio and Mary (Doug) Hemsworth of Sidney, Ohio; and two grandchildren. His father preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday (March 17, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. There will be no funeral service or burial. Casual attire preferred.

Ronald Lee Morris, Sr., age 59, 845 Grayston Avenue, Huntington, died Monday (December 12, 2005) at 2:20 a.m. at his home.
A lifetime resident of Huntington, Mr. Morris worked for Centennial Wireless Communications for seven years. He was the manager for Pizza Hut in Huntington and Wabash for over 20 years. Ron was a past president of the former Exchange Club, past commander of the American Legion Post #7 and the 40 et 8, all of Huntington. He loved to race remote control cars and boats, golf, going fishing and trains.
Mr. Morris was born in Connersville, IN, on June 30, 1946, the son of the late Raymond E. and Rosemary (LaVine) Morris. He was a graduate of Huntington High School. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam. On September 1, 1999, in Huntington, he married Kathy Dimond and she survives.
Survivors include a son - Ronald Lee (Darcy) Morris, Jr. of Huntington; a daughter - Jessica Morris of Tampa, FL; two - stepsons Brian (Gina) Rentschler of Ft. Wayne, IN and Nathan (Andrea) Rentscheler of Huntington; two brothers - Raymond E. (Joan) Morris of Huntington and James E. (Jena) Morris of Huntington and five grandchildren. A sister, Gladys Morris, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2-8 pm Wednesday (December 14, 2005) at Bethel Assembly of God, 1640 E. Taylor St., Huntington. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday (December 15, 2005) at Bethel Assembly of God with Pastor Jeff Carrell officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ Cemetery, Huntington, IN and the V. F. W. Post #2689 will perform the military graveside rites.

Ronald J. Seabolt, age 39, 540 Cline Street, Huntington, died at 12:40 am Tuesday (April 11, 2006) at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Seabolt worked for Ecolab Huntington where he worked for five years. Prior to that, he was employed with Magnatek for ten years.
Mr. Seabolt was born on May 6, 1966 in Huntington, IN, the son of Homer and Wilma (Kerschner) Seabolt. Ronald was a 1984 graduate of Huntington North High School. He married Debbie Waldron on January 1, 1990 in Huntington, IN.
Survivors include his wife - Debbie Seabolt of Huntington; mother - Wilma Seabolt of Huntington; one brother - Robert (Roxanna) Seabolt of Warren, IN; three sisters - Brenda Ross of Huntington, Barb Hadley of Huntington and Beverly Wilburn of Bluffton, IN and several nephews and nieces. His father, Homer Seabolt, preceded Ron in death.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday (April 13, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday (April 14, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Gene Vickery officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash, IN.

Ruby M. Hacker, age 90, of Huntington, died Wednesday (February 15, 2006) at 2:10 p.m. at Markle Health Care, Markle, IN.
Mrs. Hacker retired from J. C .Penney & Co., Huntington, in 1980 after 20 years of service. She was the manager of home furnishings. Mrs. Hacker, a lifetime resident of Huntington, was the oldest living member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Hacker was born in Murray, IN, on October 27, 1915, the daughter of Nathaniel and Anna Belle (Dailey) Shalley. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1933. On February 20, 1944, in Camp Butner, NC, she married Dean Hacker and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1959.
Survivors include one son - David (Carol) Hacker of Huntington; three daughters - Mrs. Ken (Carolyn) Sears of Rising Sun, IN, Mrs. David (Shirley) Shockley of Huntington and Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) Oliver of Huntington; one brother - Rev. Russell Shalley of Bourbonnias, IL; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brothers - Wayne Shalley, Virgil Shalley, Ralph Shalley and Raymond Shalley; sisters - Ann Fowerbaugh, Grace Shalley and Elona Jenks; a grandson - Michael Sears and a great-grandson - Geoffrey Spittal, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday (February 17, 2006) at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday (February 18, 2006) with one hour of visitation prior to the service at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Kevin Dunlop and Rev. Dane Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.

Ruby M. Roth, age 86, of Huntington, died at 6:30 pm Thursday (February 8, 2007) at the Renaissance Village in Ft. Wayne.
Mrs. Roth retired from the Smith Furniture Store in Huntington where she worked in the bookkeeping office and furniture sales for over 30 years. Ruby was a member of the St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ and the Order of Eastern Star Floral Chapter #75 both in Huntington. A lifetime resident of Huntington, she graduated in 1938 from Huntington High School and attended Huntington College.
Mrs. Roth was born on June 22, 1920 in Huntington the daughter of Harry and Naomi Bare Johnson. She married Gene E. Roth on June 26, 1943 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1971.
Survivors include her son - David G. Roth of Ft. Wayne, one daughter - Mrs. Terry (Nancy) Getman of Huntington, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday (February 12, 2007) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with funeral services at 12 noon Monday (February 12, 2007) Pastor Stan Buck will be officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Ruby L. Teusch, 84, 1580 Etna Avenue, Huntington, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday (June 18, 2005) at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.
Mrs. Teusch was a homemaker and member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.
Mrs. Teusch was born on August 11, 1920, in Huntington, a daughter of Donald and Elizabeth (Couch) Burns. She married Clarence Teusch on January 16, 1937 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1962.
Survivors include; 1 son - Michael Teusch of Florida; 2 daughters - Suzanne Raper of Huntington and Mrs. Larry (Dorie) Heyde of Huntington; 35 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sons - Donald, Jack, Tom and Joe Teusch; a daughter - Linda Shepperd; brothers - James, Edwin and Wilmer Burns; sisters - Edith Hobbs and Janet Slater; grandson - Benjamin Shepperd; and great-grandchildren - Brittish Duncan and Joey Shepperd preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 1-4 pm Monday (June 20, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 4 pm Monday (June 20, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Father John Guimond officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.

Russell W. Ferguson, age 84, Andrews, died at 7:40 am on Sunday (December 30, 2007) at Oakbrook Village Nursing Home in Huntington, IN.
Mr. Ferguson was a former Dallas Township Trustee Assessor from 1990-94. He retired in 1985 from United Technologies in Andrews, IN, where he worked for 23 years. After retirement, he worked for the Huntington County Sheriff Dept. for 9 years, leaving on November 19, 2007. He also worked for Dresser IDECO in Columbus, Ohio from 1947-61 as a steel worker. Russell was owner/operator of Ferguson’s Appliance Service in Andrews for over 7 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Huntington. He was a member of Andrews Lions Club, in which he was the Past President and Secretary of the Club, Past District “B” Governor of Indiana in 1972, and a Vice Chairman of the Indiana Governors for Lions Clubs. He was a member of the Huntington County Sheriff Association, He was an Andrews Library Board member, and a member of the Huntington County Cancer Society board of Directors, and sang in a church choir.
Russell was born on July 6, 1923 in Steubenville, OH, the son of Charles E. and Edna Hazel (Workman) Ferguson. He was a 1941 graduate of Steubenville High School. Russell was a Staff Sergeant during WWII with the United States Army Air Corps. He married Emma Elizabeth Bellville on December 28, 1945 in Steubenville, OH. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1990.
Survivors include four daughters - Sue (Ned) Lewis of Huntington, Kay (Robert) Spangle of North Manchester, IN, Marcia (Rick) Henly of Huntington, and Shellie (David) Miller of Warsaw, IN; one sister, Roberta Clemens, of Wildwood Crest, NJ; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Robert and Richard Ferguson, a sister, Bernice McAfee, and a grandson, Matthew Henly, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday (January 2, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (January 3, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Reverend David Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Riverside Cemetery, Andrews. Military Graveside Rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post #2689.

Ruth E. Caley, 84, of Huntington, died Friday (March 25, 2005) at 12:40 p.m. in the Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Caley retired in 1982, as a third grade teacher for Southern Wells Schools after 15 years. She previously worked for the Coil Factory, in Roanoke, for 20 years. Mrs. Caley lived most of her life in Huntington Township. She graduated from Huntington College and earned her Masters Degree, in teaching, from St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne. Mrs. Caley was a member of grace Alliance Church, in Majenica, and the Indiana State Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Caley was born in Indianapolis, IN, on June 4, 1920. She married Arthur H. Caley on February 18, 1944 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2000.
Survivors include one son - Richard A. (Janine) Caley of Huntington; one daughter - Mrs. Duane (Bonnie S.) Brumbaugh of Markle, IN; one brother - David (Laura) Hess of North Manchester; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, the casket will be closed. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 1:30 p.m. at the Bailey-Love Mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday (March 30, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Guss Hacker officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, IN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ruth E. Caley, may be made to the Huntington County Literacy Coalition in Care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.

Ruth P. Class, age 96, formerly of Huntington, died Sunday (December 17, 2006) at 4:40 a.m. at Markle Health Care, Markle, IN.
Mrs. Class retired February 1, 1975 from Majestic Company in Huntington where she worked for several years. She was a member of Huntington Church of the Brethren, the Our Own Club in Bluffton and loved gardening. She was a lifetime resident of Huntington and a graduate of Union Center High School.
Mrs. Class was born January 22, 1910, in Huntington, to Albert and Elizabeth (Altman) Gressley. She married Dallas Class in Huntington and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1983.
Survivors include one son - Keith D. Class of Berne, IN and several nephews and nieces. Her son - Max Class and her brothers - Paul Gressley, Walter Gressley and Rev. Minor Gressley, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 9 - 10 a.m. Wednesday (December 20, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (December 20, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Mulligan officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, IN.

Ruth M. Oberholtzer, age 92, 58 Orchard Lane, Huntington, died at 6:00 p.m. Thursday (October 26, 2006) at the Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Oberholtzer was a homemaker and had worked for Knollenberg’s Department Store in Richmond, IN. Ruth was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington where she participated in the United Methodist Women, Friday Morning Prayer Breakfast and the Rebecca-Howard Circle. She also volunteered at the Forks of the Wabash. Ruth attended Harrison Township High School in Clay County, IN.
Ruth was born on January 17, 1914 in Clay County, the daughter of John and Martha (Luther) Lawson. She married Sheldon Oberholtzer on February 19, 1932 in Richmond, IN. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1988.
Survivors include son - Jack (Jean) Oberholtzer of Huntington; one daughter -Gail Ann (Gayle) Buroker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister - Mary Lawson of Richmond, IN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Charles Lawson, Dean Lawson, Arthur Lawson and Luther Lawson, and a sister - Juanita Wagner, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Sunday (October 29, 2006) at Bailey- Love Mortuary. Funeral Services will be at 10 am Monday (October 30, 2006) at Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street, Huntington with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. David Ballinger & Rev. Nanci Rosinski will be officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Boston, IN.

Ruth Vaun Scribner, age 70, of Huntington, passed peacefully into Heaven at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday (October 4, 2006) at Parkview Huntington Hospital with her beloved family at her bedside, following a courageous struggle with leukemia.
Ruth was a devoted and respected pastor’s wife. With her husband, they ministered to churches in Maine, Michigan and Indiana. She was past Secretary of the Women of the Northeast Association of the United Church of Christ.
A 1954 graduate of Paris (Maine) High School, she worked several years in the dental office of Dr. Robert Easton. As a youth, she was very active in the South Paris 4-H Club, and won numerous awards. While a member of the South Paris Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School and played piano at the Sunday evening worship services.
Mrs. Scribner was born on May 4, 1936, in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Ada (Churchill) Knightly. On June 12, 1966, in South Paris, Maine, she and Rev. Ray Scribner were married. They just recently celebrated their 40th anniversary.
Survivors include her husband; two sons - David (Tami) Scribner of Roanoke, IN and Peter (Cindy) Scribner of Huntington; one daughter - Esther (Jason) Crago of Huntington; one brother - Harold (Margaret) Knightly of Oxford, Maine; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday (October 6, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday (October 7, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Norman Conklin officiating. Burial will be held later in the Hillside Cemetery, East Stoneham, Maine.
