Stanton “Jack” Wyatt, age 52, 614 Salamonie Ave., Huntington, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Saturday (March 15, 2008) at the Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Wyatt was employed for over 20 years at OmniSource, in Ft. Wayne, as a mechanic. He also had been an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Stationed in Germany, Stanton served for the Army as a SP4.
Stanton was born on December 23, 1955, in Huntington, the son of Joseph E. and Rose Marie (Parker) Wyatt. He was a 1974 graduate of Huntington North High School.
Survivors include his mother - Rose Marie Wyatt of Huntington; ex-wife - Theresa K. Wyatt of Huntington; three sons - Billy Joe Wyatt, Jacob Adam Wyatt, Cody Tyler Wyatt, all of Huntington; two brothers - Danny J. Wyatt of Wabash and Earl G. Wyatt of Huntington; one sister - Linda R. (Dan) Harrell of Warren. His father and a brother - James P. Wyatt preceded him in death.

Steven J. Sikora, age 37, 312 Joe Street, Huntington, IN, died at 5:51 pm on Saturday (October 29, 2005) at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.
Mr. Sikora was employed at T.I. Automotive in Ossian, IN where he worked in quality audit for over 6 years. He also carried papers for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette in Huntington.
Mr. Sikora was born December 14, 1967, in Huntington, IN, the son of Louis J. (Jane Ann) Sikora of Huntington and Mrs. Robert (Joann) Prus of Andrews, IN. Mr. Sikora was a 1986 graduate of Huntington North High School. He also graduated in 1988 from ITT Tech of Fort Wayne with an associate’s degree in electronics.
Survivors include his sister - Mrs. Timothy (Sharon) Tackett of Huntington; a half-sister - Thia Sikora of Huntington; a step-sister - Mrs. Brian (Kimberly) Guilbault of Fort Wayne, IN; one half-brother - Christopher J. Sikora of Brazil, IN; four nieces, five nephews and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 on Wednesday (November 2, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday (November 3, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Jeff Carrell officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Andrews, Indiana.

Susan E. Harvey, age 44, 164 Glen Dee Lane, Roanoke, IN, died at 5:45 am Monday (June 26, 2006) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Ms. Harvey was employed with Pathfinder Services and she helped with Meals on Wheels. A lifetime resident of Andrews and Huntington, she attended Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church in Huntington. Susan enjoyed bowling and drinking coffee and she loved her nephews and nieces. She was a Special Olympic Athlete participating in the local and state levels.
Ms. Harvey was born on May 14, 1962 in Huntington, the daughter of Charles E. and Nancy L. (Warfel) Harvey. They preceded her in death.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert C. (Karen) Harvey of Huntington and Thomas A. Harvey of Huntington, and several nephews and nieces.

Teresa Kay Taylor, age 54, 717 Whitelock Street, Huntington, died Monday (October 3, 2005) at 11:59 am at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Huntington. She graduated from Huntington North High School in 1971.
Mrs. Taylor was born the daughter of the late Zack and Betty Jane (McElhaney) Wall, Jr. on January 2, 1951 in Huntington, IN. She married Robert A. Taylor on April 3, 1977 in Huntington, IN.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years - Robert A. Taylor of Huntington, IN; one son - Anthony W. Taylor of Huntington, IN; one daughter - Katherine L. Taylor at home; two brothers - Monte Joe Wall of Warren, IN and Jeffery A. Wall of Huntington; and two sisters - Mrs. Martin (Vicki Lynn) Renbarger of Warren, IN and Mrs. Louis (Jane Ann) Sikora of Huntington, IN. A brother, Michael Lee Wall, preceded her in death.

Thelma E. Shrock, age 85, 4350 North 635 West, Huntington, died at 10:00 am Thursday (September 28, 2006) at her home residence.
Mrs. Shrock retired in 1991, after 40 years, as a registered nurse at the Huntington Hospital. After retirement, she did consulting work for several area hospitals. Thelma was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington where she was a member of the Lydia Circle. She served with the North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Thelma was a member of the Emergency Room Nurses Association and the Infection Control Practitioners. Mrs. Shrock was a 1938 graduate of Banquo High School and received her nursing degree from Ball Memorial Hospital in 1942. She continued her education attending St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne receiving a degree in Professional Health Arts in 1979.
Mrs. Shrock was born on November 11, 1920 in Huntington County, the daughter of Otto and Eva (Welker) Shrock. She married Frank Shrock on December 16, 1942 in Huntington and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1997.
Survivors include son - Gary L. (Josie) Shrock of San Diego, California; on e daughter - Shirley (Robert) Combs of Greentown, IN; two brothers - Paul (Claira Belle) Walton of Mt. Etna, IN and Herbert Walton of Mt. Etna, IN; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, Lester Walton, preceded her in death.

Theresa Ann Hadley, age 49, 850 Ash Street, Huntington, died Wednesday (May 31, 2006) at 1:10 p.m. at Oakbrook Village where she resided.
Mrs. Hadley was a homemaker and loved her family. She moved to Huntington in 2004 coming from Bloomington, IN.
Mrs. Hadley was born on January 12, 1957, in Huntington, the daughter of Richard Hadley and Evelyn (Wall) Fisher.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather - Evelyn and Jim Fisher of Huntington; her father - Richard Hadley of Florida; one daughter - Mrs. Greg (Melissa) Thompson of Huntington; two sons - Christopher (Tammy) White of Bloomington, IN and Matthew Roberts of Huntington; two brothers - Bruce Hadley of Jacksonville, FL and Steven Hadley of Ft. Wayne, IN; and eight grandchildren.

Thomas N. Scheer, age 73, 45 Quayle Run, Huntington, died Saturday at 2:25 a.m. (September 29, 2007) at his home surrounded by family.
Tom was an accountant for Mignone Communications, Huntington, from 1997 - 2004. Prior to that, he was vice-president for institutional advancement at the University of St. Francis from 1991-1997, a financial officer for Huntington Laboratories from 1962-1991 and a postal carrier for the Huntington Post Office. Tom was Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe, which was awarded during the 1986 Heritage Days.
Tom was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where he was a member of the choir and lecter for the church. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Rotary, Jaycees, Y.M.C.A. Board member, Medical Memorial Foundation Treasurer Board and a life member of the Salvation Army. Also, the Huntington City/Township Library Board member, the Heritage Foundation of Huntington Board member, Historic Forks of the Wabash Board member, Chamber of Commerce past treasurer and Boy Scout Leader. Tom was the United Way Chairman in 1968, a State Director for United Way, a past president of the Mental Health Association, served on the financial committee and Chair of Parish Council at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Tom was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus 4th Degree Honor Guard and served as treasurer for the Huntington Catholic High School Board. Tom fought courageously throughout his years of cancer and, along with his wife, became invaluable volunteers for the first (and subsequent) annual Miles for Myeloma Event which took place in May 2005. He loved to entertain through his singing and acting at many local events and many will remember him and his Donald Duck voice.
Tom graduated in 1952 from Huntington Catholic High School and graduated in 1974 from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Finance.
Tom was born on May 28, 1934 in Huntington the son of Paul J. and Nina P. (Geiger) Scheer. He married Arlene R. Bir on November 28, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years - Arlene R. Scheer of Huntington; six sons - Steven (Liz) Scheer of Huntington, Edward (JoAnn) Scheer of Huntington, Kenneth (Cathy) Scheer of Indianapolis, Christopher (Majella) Scheer of Ft. Wayne, Nicholas (Renee) Scheer of Huntington and Joel (Heather) Scheer of Ft. Wayne; three daughters - Jeanine (Mike) Hannan of Indianapolis, Lorraine (Tyler) Lofland of Lake Mary, Florida and Mary Ann Laurie of Huntington; one sister - Phyllis Yaste of Oregon, Illinois; 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A daughter - Lisa Ellen Scheer, and a sister - Helen Cassaday, preceded him in death.

Traci R. Smith, age 37, 341 Allen Street, Huntington died at 2:46 p.m. Friday (May 16, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Ms. Smith was a lifetime resident of Huntington and a member of Union Church. She was most comfortable surrounded by her family. She loved shopping, especially at a “Big” Walmart and sharing her love with “Little Yorky.” She loved attending church, seeing her church family, and she enjoyed spending time at Coffee d’Vine.
Traci was born on June 27, 1970 in Huntington the daughter of Floyd Bennett and Sue (Simmons) Smith. She attended Huntington North High School.
Survivors include her father - Floyd Smith of Huntington; three sisters - Sandy (Myrl) Harmon of Huntington, Judy (John) Williams of Huntington and Machelle (Colin) Bullock of Huntington; several uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces. Her mother and a nephew, Chad Smith, preceded her in death.

Tracy Shannon Flynn, age 55, formerly of Roanoke, IN died at 8:44 p.m. Sunday (November 18, 2007) at St. Luke’s Select Specialty Care in Denver, Colorado.
Tracy retired from the Anthony Wayne Services in Ft. Wayne after 10 years and was superintendent for the Huntington Parks & Recreation Department from 1980-1986. She was active in the women’s softball league in Huntington.
Tracy was born on September 11, 1952 in Huntington, the daughter of Roy and Dorothy (Sherman) Flynn, Jr. She was a 1970 graduate of Huntington North High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Huntington College.
Survivors include one sister - Kelly (Richard) Kimmel of Huntington, three brothers - Terry (Penny) Flynn of Moab, Utah, Danny (Beth) Flynn of Jacksonville, Florida and Patrick (Brenda) Flynn of Huntington and several nephews and nieces. Her parents preceded her in death.

Vaughn E. Archbold, age 84, 1180 West 500 North, Huntington, died Tuesday (December 13, 2005) at 1:18 pm at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Archbold retired in 1985 as the co-owner of the former Mt. Etna Sawmill & Lumber Company. A lifetime resident of Huntington County, he was with the Mt. Etna Fire Department for 30 years.
Mr. Archbold was born in Huntington County, on October 6, 1921, the son of Lawrence and Blanche (O’Dier) Archbold. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1939. Vaughn married Mae Hedrick on May 3, 1941 in Huntington and then joined the United States Coast Guard serving during W.W. II.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years - Mae Hedrick of Huntington; two sons - Steve D. (Judy) Archbold of Ossian, IN and Scott E. Archbold of Huntington; two daughters - Mrs. David (Cheryl C.) Crockett of Huntington and Mrs. Greg (Karen D.) Batt of Huntington; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Vickie Yvonne Ham, age 55, 7647 N. Barrington Road, Decatur, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday (May 23, 2008) at the Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Mrs. Ham worked for Gerber’s Fine Foods in Decatur. Prior to that, she worked at PC Concepts and United Technologies. She was graduate of Wayne High School in Chicago IL and attended IVY Tech.
Vickie was born on December 1, 1952 in Huntington. She was raised by William and Helen (Walters) Simmons. She married Wendell L. Ham, Jr. on January 31, 1994 in Bluffton. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1997.
Survivors include her mother - Helen Simmons of Huntington; companion - Bob Noack of Decatur; two brothers - Ronald Simmons of Lake Barbee and David Simmons of Fort Wayne; three sisters - Robin Simmons of Canton, OH, Mrs. Mike (Barbara) Fisher of Huntington, and Mrs. Leslie (Tammy) Fernandes of Hagerstown, MD. She was preceded in death by her father, William Simmons.

Vida Marie Myers, age 85, 801 Huntington Avenue, Warren, died Thursday (March 16, 2006) at 10:35 p.m. at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and also worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Clear Creek School. A lifetime resident of Huntington County, Vida was a member of the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, Huntington County.
Mrs. Myers was born on September 8, 1920, in Roanoke, the daughter of Charles “Raymond” and Mabel (Matthias) Groves. Vida graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1939. She married Doyle Wilson Myers on November 23, 1939 in Huntington. Doyle preceded her in death November 15, 2003.
Survivors include two sons - James M. (Kim) Myers of Huntington and Kyle W. (Margie) Myers of Huntington; two daughters - Mrs. James O. (Shirley A.) Wolf of Roanoke, IN and Mrs. Carl (Phyllis J.) Thomas of Orlando, Florida; one brother - Richard D. “Dick” (Reba) Groves of Huntington; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Violet C. Fairchild, age 64, of Huntington, died at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday (November 6, 2007) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Violet was born on August 26, 1943 in Huntington, the daughter of Earl Kenneth and Edna Olive (Fair) Wall. She married Floyd LeRoy Fairchild on March 24, 1964 in Huntington and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2000. Violet retired after 30 years at Huntington Electric.
Survivors include four sons - Michael LeRoy (Angie) Fairchild of Huntington, Thomas Lee Fairchild of Huntington, Ronald Lee Fairchild of Huntington and Teddy Lee (Sarah) Fairchild of Huntington; one daughter - Candy (Bradley) Borntreger of Huntington, four sisters - Rosey (Claude) Koontz of Huntington, Evelyn (Jim) Fisher of Huntington, Sandra Stell of Huntington and Sharon Easterday of Huntington; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her parents, husband, three brothers - Bill Wall, Kenneth Wall and Tommy Wall, and five sisters - Virginia Wall, Barbara Bowman, Helen Hardacre, Linda Runyon and Viola Baker preceded her in death.

Vivian D. Elick, age 89, 535 Lynnwood Drive, Huntington, died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday (May 21, 2008) at her home residence.
Mrs. Elick retired after 33 years with the Huntington County Office of the Department of Agriculture where she worked for over 33 years. Prior to that, she worked for the former Sucherger Chevolet in Huntington and the Red Cross Manufacturing in Bluffton. Vivian was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sigma Beta Sorority, the Huntington County Women’s Club, Current Events Club and the A.B.W.A. all of Huntington. She was a resident of Bluffton prior to moving to Huntington in 1941.
Vivian was born on April 12, 1919 in Creek County (Oilton), Oklahoma to Floyd Ray and Nancy Jane (Williams) Goodwin. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1937 and married Eugene J. Elick on February 8, 1941 in Bluffton. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1990.
Survivors include one son - Tom (Jackie) Elick of Huntington; one daughter - Sharon K. Elick of Huntington; and five grandchildren - Mike Meyer and Kristine Johnson both of Huntington, Rebecca Harmon of Wabash, Brian Elick of Ft. Wayne, and Teri Beam of Columbia City. Also, two step-grandchildren - Ernie Stephan and Rita Brown both of Huntington; and ten great-grandchildren - Edie Harmon, Valaree Harmon, Phoebe Harmon, Cade Harmon, Ali Meyer, Seth Meyer, Olivia Meyer, Zachary Guyer, Anthony Johnson and Emily Johnson all of Huntington, and Izach Beam and Martina Beam both of Columbia City. Brothers, Donald Goodwin and Duane Goodwin, preceded her in death.

W. Darrell Lindsey, age 72, 2588 East Markle Road, Huntington, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday (July 28, 2007) at his home.
Mr. Lindsey was a lifetime resident of Huntington County retiring in 1994 from Majestic Corporation in Huntington, after working for over 25 years in production. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Huntington. Darrell was an avid fisherman and an I.U. basketball fan.
Darrell was born on July 29, 1934 in Huntington, the son of James Willard and Christina Baker Lindsey. Darrell married Shirley A. Randall on June 6, 1953 in Wabash, IN., she survives.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years - Shirley A. Lindsey of Huntington; three daughters - Vickie (Jim) Sours of Ft. Wayne, Sheryl Lauderdale of Ft. Wayne, and Christie (Erik) Schull of Knightstown; two sisters - Doris (Howard) Pulley of Columbia City and Rose (Harold) Fry of Big Lake; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One brother - Darwin Lindsey and a sister - Shirley Miller precede him in death.

Warren Glenn Jacquay, age 54, 6038 East 500 South, Wabash, IN died Thursday morning (May 11, 2006) at his home in Wabash, IN.
Mr. Jacquay worked in production as a utility man at GDX in Wabash for 17 Years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 97 in Auburn, IN.
Mr. Jacquay was born on December 1, 1951 in Ft. Wayne to Russell and Pearl (Koeller) Jacquay. On July 8, 1995, he married Kay M. Sommers in Wabash, IN. Glenn was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his mother - Pearl Jacquay of Andrews, IN; wife - Kay M. Jacquay of Wabash, IN; two sons - Christopher M. Jacquay of Wabash, IN and Timothy A. Jacquay of Huntington, IN; three step-daughters - Tonya Wright, Amy Newsome and Joanie Campbell; five brothers - Ron Jacquay of Auburn, IN; Larry (Julie) Jacquay of Clearwater, FL; Russell (Heather) Jacquay of Bowmansville, PA; Scott (Kathy) Jacquay of Andrews, IN and Rick Jacquay of Huntington, IN; one sister - Carol “Sis” Jacquay of Andrews, IN; 4 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren. His father, Russell Jacquay, two brothers, Phill Jacquay & Ralph Jacquay, and two step-grandchildren preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm Sunday (May 14, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday (May 15, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews, IN, with the V.F.W. Post #2689 performing the graveside military rites.

Wayne Richard Haberland, age 83, 120 Orchard Lane, Huntington, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (July 1, 2007) at the Select Specialty Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Haberland retired from Rexnord in Dalton, IL.,as a sales representative, prior to that he was Vice President of Locke Steel and Chain Company in Huntington where he worked for over 21 years until it closed in 1978. He was the first employee from Huntington to be hired at the Locke Steel and Chain. Wayne also worked at the former Caswell Runyon Cabinet Company for 14 years as the Assistant Personnel Director. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, former member of the Elks Lodge, and former Exchange Club. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1942 and attended Huntington College.
Wayne was born on June 16, 1924 in Lancaster Township in Huntington County the son of Charles and Bertha Nie Haberland. He married Janet E. Hildebrand on June 2, 1946 in the Mt. Etna Methodist Church, Mt. Etna, IN.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years -Janet E. (Hildebrand) Haberland of Huntington; three sons - Douglas (Nancy) Haberland of Plymonth, Brent Haberland of Huntington, Kevin (Judi) Haberland of Huntington, one daughter Lynn Haberland of Delaware, OH., one sister Maxine Wilhelm of Huntington, four step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and one step great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday (July 3, 2007) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with one hour calling from 9:00 a.m. till funeral services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (July 4, 2007) at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford St., Huntington, with Rev. David Ballanger officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Weston Lynn Close, age 16, 8581 West 600 North, Andrews, IN, died Thursday (June 29, 2006) at 10:34 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Weston was born on March 5, 1990 in Ft. Wayne, to Kevin Lynn and Julie R. (Yarger) Close. Weston was a life resident of Huntington County and was employed with Close Builders in Bippus and worked weekends for Stephan Trucking in Roanoke, IN. Weston was a junior at Huntington North High School.
Weston was a member of the Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church in Bippus, he was very active in the Huntington County 4-H, Huntington County Baseball playing for the Andrews Lions Club Team, and he was on the Huntington North High School Wrestling Team. Weston had many hobbies and loved baseball, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include his parents - Kevin Lynn and Julie R. Close of Andrews; one sister - Jordie Close at home; grandparents - Diane Yarger of Clearwater, FL, Mike Yarger of Huntington, and Terry and Carol Close of Huntington; great grandparents - Earnest and Catherine Hillegas of Huntington and Lelah Close of Huntington; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Sunday (July 2, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday (July 3, 2006) with 1 hour of visitation before the service at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Kenton M. Lord and Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be at Bippus Calvary Cemetery in Bippus, IN. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Huntington County Baseball, Huntington North High School Wrestling Team and the Huntington County 4-H.
