Robert M. Moore
February 17, 1929 - January 19, 2008
Robert M. Moore, 78 of Rochester, Indiana, died on Saturday, January
19, 2008 at St. Joseph Reg. Med. Center in Plymouth, Indiana.
Robert was born to Adolph Moore and Mary Williams on February 17,
1929 in Marvell, Arkansas. He was married on September 30, 1956 at
Chicago, IL to Bobbie McClure. She survives.
He is survived by his Wife - Bobbie Moore of Rochester, Indiana. He
was preceded in death by his Father - Adolph Moore and his Mother -
Mary Moore.
Visitation will be from 11AM - 12:00PM at the Bonine-Odom Funeral
Home on January 26, 2008. Rev. John Cowens will officiate the service
which will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at
Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Indiana. Interment will follow at
the Leiters Ford I O O F Cemetery in Leiters Ford, Indiana.
Alice C. Myers
Alice C. Myers, 99, of Culver, passed away at 5:50AM on July 12, 2008 in
Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
Alice was born on April 25, 1909 in Kewanna, IN, one of 8 children born to
Daniel and Sarah Jane (Donaldson) Kopp. She attended and graduated from
the Kewanna School system. Daniel was the owner of the hardware store in
Kewanna.
Alice's passion for teaching was ignited when while still in school she was
asked to teach a lower class when a teacher was sick. After graduation she was
one of the first women of her generation to attend Indiana University in
Bloomington, earning a Bachelor degree. She then achieved her post graduate
studies from Wayne University. After graduating, she returned to Kewanna to
begin teaching and after several years, she retired to marry her sweetheart,
Robert Myers, who was the son of Weston Henry Myers, the publisher of the
Kewanna Herald. Together they had 2 children. After Robert passed away in
1966, Alice moved to South Bend and worked for St. Joseph Co. As a clerk until
she retired at age 72. Alice enjoyed going to rummage sales looking for that
special bargain. She was a woman of deep faith and was a member of St.
Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver.
She is survived by her children - JoAnn (James) Walsh of Culver and Robert
(Kathie) Myers of Elkhart, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2
great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00AM
EDT at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver where friends may
share memories with the family one hour before the service at the
church. Father Glenn Kohrman will officiate the service. Burial will
follow in the Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery in Kewanna, Indiana.
Memorials may be given in Alice's memory to St. Mary's of the
Lake Catholic Church.
Julia (McKee) Overmyer
July 11, 1929 - June 22, 2008
Julia McKee Overmyer, 78, of Culver, passed away at 3:45PM on June 22, 2008 at
Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
Julia was born on July 11, 1929 to Cortland V. and Trula M. (Griffith) McKee. She was
married to Donavon Overmyer. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1993.
She was a member of the Maxinkuckee Rebeccah Lodge and Grace United Church of
Christ. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and knitting comforters. She was once asked to
audition for the South Bend Blue Sox.
Julia is survived by her loving sons: Cortland "Corky" (Carol) Overmyer of Dorr, MI,
Thomas (Diana) Overmyer of Culver, IN, Ned (Barbara) Overmyer of Rochester, IN, Brett
(Lisa) Overmyer of Cicero, IN, and Brian (Jodie) Overmyer of Argos, IN; brothers: Vern
McKee of Culver and Don McKee of Nappanee, IN; sisters: Mary Powers of Culver and
Sadie Fisher of Bremen, IN; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers - Bill Nye, Harold McKee,
and Gerald McKee; and sisters - Rosemary Cuomo, Ethel Buchanan, and Betty Thomas.
Visitation with the family will be held at Grace United Church of Christ, Culver, from 4 -
7PM on June 26, 2008. Rev. Robin Keating will officiate funeral services at 7PM.

Homer R. Personette, 69, of Knox, IN, died at 11:10AM on January
29, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, surrounded by family and
friends.
Homer is survived by his sons - Richard Personette of Wanatah, IN,
Scott Personette of Sebring, FL, and Sonny (Carey) Personette of
Argos, IN; daughters - Janice (Paul) Broeker of Culver, Susan
Personette of Mesa, AZ, and Peggy (Frank) Ahlenius of Monterey,
IN; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters - Mariola

Hillabrand, Kay (Tom) Langdon and Bonnie (Harold) Smith, and
brother-in-law - Harold Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister - Virginia

Harry C. Peters
April 17, 1918 - June 8, 2008
Harry C. Peters, 90, formerly of Culver, passed away on Sunday June 8,
2008, in Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth, IN.
Harry, one of 2 children born to Charles and Alta Peters was born on April
17, 1918 in Kewanna, Indiana. He was a hard worker who spent his entire
life farming.
He is survived by nephews - Roger Foglesong of Dunkirk, IN and Carl
Foglesong of Oviedo, Florida. He was preceded in death by both parents
and his sister - Esther Foglesong.
A time of sharing memories with Harry's family will be held on June 11,
2008 from 1:00 - 2:00PM EDT at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home in
Culver. A graveside service will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in
Kewanna, south of Bruce Lake at 2:45PM.
Memorials may be given to the Culver Bible Church in Harry's memory.
John P. Plante, Jr.
August 10, 1931 - May 4, 2008
John was born Aug 10, 1931 in Ora, IN, one of 6 children to John and Ethel (Greer)
Plante. He attended Ora School and Knox High School.
John served in the US Marine Corps from 1950 - 1954. He participated in operations
against enemy forces in South and Central Korea, in which he received several medals
for combat. He entered the Navy Reserves in 1962, and served 27 years until his
retirement in 1989. John was very proud of his military service, and looked forward
every year to attending his Marine Corps Brotherhood and Survivors reunion of the
How Co., 3rd Battalion, 7th Regiment, First Marine Division, FMF Korea 1950 - 1953.
John worked for 42 years at Culver Academies as the Building Maintenance
Supervisor, and was a bus driver for athletic events and other school functions. He was
a lifetime member of the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6919 of Culver and the
Colllins-Tasch American Legion Post 399 of Monterey, and was also a member of the
Independent Order of Odd Fellows Maxinkuckee Lodge 373.
On May 9, 1953 he married Joyce E. Mikesell at the Mt. Hope Church, Culver, IN. Their
daughter Gloria Diana was born on June 13, 1954. Their son, Wayne Michael was
born on January 26, 1957.
John is survived by his wife Joyce of Culver and son Wayne, of Deland FL, son-in-law
Gary Hinton of Culver, IN, grandson Peter (Kellie) Manzuk of Plymouth, IN,
granddaughter Andrea Manzuk of Phoenix, AZ, and grandson David Plante of Elkhart,
IN. John had 6 great-grandchildren: Matthew Manzuk of Plymouth, IN, and Colin, Tyler,
Regan, Blake, and Kendall Plante of Elkhart, IN. John is also survived by his sisters
Camilla (John) Brettin of Knox, IN, Donna Hunnicutt of Ora, IN, and Betty (Richard)
Brettin of Knox, IN.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vern and Richard, and daughter
Gloria.
Services have been entrusted to the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, where
friends may join the family in celebration John's life on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 2 -
8pm EDT. Rev. Curtis Heydt will officiate funeral services of Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at
10am EDT at the Culver Academies Memorial Chapel.

Leon T. Pollock
August 29, 1921 - July 19, 2007
Leon was born on Aug 29, 1921 in Rensselaer, IN, one of 4 children born to Ross and Edna (Smith) Pollock. He
married his sweetheart Vera Smith on June 16, 1945 in Knox, IN while proudly serving his country in the US Army during
WW II. She preceded him in death on Dec 1, 2003. They have 1 son and 2 daughters.
After his discharge, Leon farmed, built the home he and Vera presently lived in and retired after 26 years as a
construction supervisor with the Tonn-Blank Co of Michigan City, IN. He loved the Lord and his church and especially
adored his grand- and great grandchildren.

Elizabeth A. Reynolds
March 26, 1960 - April 19, 2008
Elizabeth Ann (Zehner) Reynolds passed away unexpectedly April 19,
2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet, IL.
Beth was born March 26, 1960 in Rochester, IN to Don and Ruth
(Keller) Zehner of Monterey. She lived her entire life in the Monterey
community.
Beth graduated from Culver Community High School in 1978 and from
Indiana State Univ. In 1981. She married Jacob Linn Reynolds on Sept.
22, 1984 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey. She was a
devoted wife & mother, a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. She
was an active member of St. Anne Church. She was a dedicated
employee of Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver for the past 25 years as the
Office Manager.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Jacob Linn Reynolds, her
children, Heather, Erik, Tiffany and Bryce, her parents, Don and Ruth
(Keller) Zehner, mother-in-law, Betty Reynolds of Rochester, brothers,
Don Zehner (Pam) of Logansport, Greg Zehner (Mary) of Monterey,
August Zehner (Kathy) of Anderson and her sister, Sharon (Larry)
Yelaska of Channahon, IL. Also surviving are her brother-in-laws, Mark
Reynolds of Rochester and Dana (Nona) Reynolds of Lafayette, and
sister-in-law, Debbie (Tim) Wilson of Kewanna.
Beth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clem and Marjorie
Keller and August and Anna Zehner, a nephew, Benjamin Michael
Zehner and her father-in-law, Don Reynolds of Rochester.
Services will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey on
Thurs. April 24 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Bert Woolson officiating. Burial will
be in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Monterey. Visitation will be at Bonine-Odom
Funeral Home in Culver on Wed, April 23 from 3 to 8 with a Scriptural
Wake Service at 7:30.
A memorial fund has been established at the First National Bank of
Monterey to assist in the educational needs of her children.

Katherine J. Richardson, 72 of Monterey, Indiana, died at 1:21 PM on Sunday,
June 3, 2007 at St. Vincent's Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Katherine was born on June 13, 1934 in Noblesville, Indiana. She was married
on April 23, 1964 at Anderson, Indiana to George Richardson.
She is survived by her husband - George Richardson of Monterey, Indiana, sons
- Tom (Ruth) Mobley of Bloomington, Indiana, Larry Richardson of Orange Park,
Florida, Robert Richardson of Monterey, Indiana, and Tim (Roberta)
Richardson of Monterey, Indiana, several grandchildren, numerous
great-grandchildren, and sister - Jerri Fester of Newcastle, Indiana. She was
preceded in death by son - Steve Richardson, daughters - Tina Summers and
Shelia Summers, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Kenneth C. "Calvin" Stidham
Kenneth C. "Calvin" Stidham, 47 of Monterey, Indiana, died
at 6:07 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
Calvin was born to Kenneth and Eunice (Fields) Stidham
on September 3, 1959 in Hyden, Kentucky. He was
married on October 17, 1987 at Union Church of the
Brethren in Plymouth, IN to Lisa Cramer. She survives.
Calvin is also survived by his parents, sons: Wyatt, Virgil
and Morgan Stidham of Monterey, Indiana, daughters:

Geraldine N. Timms
September 6, 1915 - June 4, 2008
Geraldine Timms, 92, of Argos, Indianapassed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 7:55AM.
Geraldine was born in Leiters Ford, Indiana on
September 6, 1915 to Donald and Dessa Brugh. She
was married to Charles Timms on July 21, 1935. He
preceded her in death on November 27, 1973. She
was also preceded in death by her sister - Donnabelle
Boling and great-granddaughter - Kelley Hunt.
Geraldine was employed by the Chicago Board of
Education during the 1950's and 1960's as lunchroom
supervisor until her retirement in 1976. After her
retirement, she was employed by the Culver Academy
and received her realtors license while in her 70's.
She was in the real estate business until failing vision
prevented her from continuing sales of real estate.
She was a traveler. Vacation time might find her
following the Alaskan Pipeline with her friends, riding
a camel in Africa, or flying to Hawaii with her daughter
and granddaughter, but her greatest interest was her
farm, the land and her crops.
Geraldine is survived by her brothers - Kenneth
(Darlene) Brugh of Yorkville, Illinois and Ernest
(Florence) Brugh of Sebring, Florida; her daughter -
Phyllis (Ray) Cox of Evansville, Indiana,
granddaughter - Tami Woodward of Monterey,
Indiana, great-grandsons - Corey (Monica) Hunt and
Cody Hunt of Culver, Indiana, great-great
granddaughter - Reyonica Hunt of Culver, and several
nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 11:00AM -
1:00PM EDT on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Grace
United Church of Christ, 307 N Plymouth Street,
Culver, immediately followed by a memorial service in
celebration of Geraldine's life.

Martin A. Uebel
April 12, 1912 - April 16, 2008
Martin Arno Uebel, age 96, of Culver, Indianapassed away on April 16 at Miller's Merry
Manor in Culver. He was a faculty member of the Culver Academies from 1940 to 1977
working in both Summer and Winter Schools as a counselor, teacher of German, Latin,
and English as well as ROTC at times. He also assisted in the Music Department as
part-time Band Director and regularly played clarinet in the concerts at the Academy and
in South Bend.
Born in East Hampton, Massachusetts on April 12, 1912, he was the son of Herman and
Marie Uebel. After graduation from Dartmouth College in 1933, he worked as a musician
and then continued his education at the University of Cologne, Germany and through
summer work at Freiburg and Frankfurt, Germany, as well as Indiana University,
Bloomington, Indiana.
He served in the Second Armored Division in WWII, was wounded twice, receiving a
Purple Heart with star. In 1945, he married Ruth E. Bossert, a teacher in Brookville,
Indiana, who survives.
A charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Culver, he also belonged to the American
Legion, and the Marshall County Historical Society. While serving on the Council of
Churches, he organized the Meals on Wheels Program of Culver.
He is also survived by sons David (Judy) of Colorado and Mark (Dawn) of Martinsville,
Indiana, three grandchildren Ryan (Nicole) Uebel of Granger, LT jg Matthew Uebel, USN
of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Amy Elizabeth Uebel of Mystic, Connecticut and two
great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Lauren Uebel.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 4 - 8pm at the Trinity
Lutheran Church, Culver, IN. Rev. K.C. Dehning will officiate funeral services on Tuesday,
April 22, 2008 at 9AM at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Maple Grove
Cemetery in Brookville, IN. Gifts in his memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church
or the Culver Academies Scholarship Fund.
