Clarice Corn
Lynnville resident Clarice Corn died Thursday, Oct. 21 at 11:40 a.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, following open heart surgery. She was 81.
Clarice was born July 29, 1923 in Pike County, near Selvin, to Harless and Jewel (Baker) Tuley. She was retired from General Electric. Clarice attended the Boonville congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Les Maxey, who was killed during WWII in 1944; and her second husband of 42 years, Ronald Corn, on Feb. 4, 1990.
Clarice is survived by two daughters, Shannon McKinney and Sheila DeJarnett, both of Winslow; two sons, Terrill Corn of Lynnville and Roger Corn of Holland; a sister, Lauretta Ingram of Selvin; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 24 at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial following in the Augusta Cemetery. Sam Kreger conducted the funeral rites.
Doris Fuchs
Evansville resident Doris Faye Fuchs died Sunday, Oct. 17 at her residence. She was 52.
Doris was born in Boonville. She was a CNA at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
She is survived by six sisters, Phyllis Stone, Carol Fuchs, Linda Fuchs, Mary Ann Fuchs, Molly Quick and Jule Spratt, all of Evansville; three brothers, Larry Fuchs and Clarence Fuchs, both of Evansville, and Robert Fuchs of Boonville; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, with Rev. Gene Koker officiating.
Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel handled the arrangements.
Frances Bruce
Boonville resident Frances M. Bruce died Saturday, Oct. 23 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was 83.
Frances was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Boonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Bruce; infant son, Jay R. Bruce; and two brothers, Woodrow and Clarence Taylor.
Frances is survived by a daughter, Karen R. Boyle of Wadesville; a son, John K. Bruce of Newburgh; two grandchildren; a sister, Maybelle Dorsey of Boonville; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

Edna Schuble
Chandler resident Edna L. Schuble died Friday, Oct. 22. She was 81.
Edna was a member of the Chandler United Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Guild. She served one term as the Ohio Township Trustee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Schuble, in 1995; and a granddaughter, Jolene Schuble, in 1997.
Edna is survived by a daughter, Debbie Hyneman of Oakland City; two sons, David Schuble of Boonville and Wayne Schuble of Chandler; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25 at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh.

Allie Garnett
Former Warrick County resident Allie R. "Bob" Garnett died Thursday, Oct. 21 at St. Anthony Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was 83.
Bob was a resident of Herculaneum, Mo. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation as a Line Driver.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Garnett of Hillsboro, Mo., and Robert G. Garnett of Imperial, Mo.; a brother, Gerald Edwin Garnett of Roswell, N.M.; a sister, June Bickford of Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with Pastor Gene Koker officiating. Burial followed in Mills Cemetery in Boonville, with military rites by Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services.

Josie Thompson
Lynnville resident Josie Pauline (Davis) Thompsondied Oct. 19 at the St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville. She was 68.
Josie was born on May 6, 1936 in Lookout, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Callie and Eunis Davis; and four brothers, Chester, Randall, Bill and Wylie Davis.
Josie is survived by her husband, Bobby Thompson of Lynnville; four daughters, Diane Rivard, Nina Duncan, Debby Truitt and Charish Thompson; three sons, Woody Thompson, John Thompson and Bobby Joe Thompson; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 23 at the North Friendship General Baptist Church in Lynnville, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville. Rev. Jeffrey Harford officiated. Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville handled the arrangements.

Louise Schoppenhorst
Louise Schoppenhorst, 72, of Huntingburg, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Memorial Hospital, in Jasper. She was born May 1, 1932 in Huntingburg to William and Ethel (Rogers) Ingle. She married Ray F. Schoppenhorst July 31, 1949 in Huntingburg.
She retired from Dubois Wood Products, and was a member of the VFW Post 2366 Ladies Auxiliary, the Eagles Aerie 3335 and the Huntingburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Frank Utley; a sister, Jean Singer; and a brother, Jack Ingle.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray F. Schoppenhorst, of Huntingburg; three children, Vicki Meyerholtz, of Velpen, Steve Schoppenhorst, of Huntingburg and Karen Schoppenhorst, of Jasper; a sister, Helen Spinner, of Velpen; a brother, Roger Ingle, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at the Nass and Son Funeral Home, in Huntingburg, with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Haywood will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. A VFW service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
David Woolsey
Boonville resident David Keith Woolsey died Friday, Dec. 3 at his home, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 66.
David owned and operated Tri-State Battery. He was in battery sales for 30 years. He enjoyed his work very much and all of the people he met over the years as his customers.
David graduated from Boonville High School in 1957. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and being outdoors. David was a Baptist and also enjoyed watching Robert Schuller and Jack Van Impe.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Keith Woolsey, on Nov. 2, 1996; his father, Lawrence Woolsey, in 1986; and an uncle, Gilbert Huck, in 1988.
David is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Helms) Woolsey of Boonville. They had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 6. He is also survived by a daughter, Kathy L. Woolsey of Evansville; his mother, Evelyn Woolsey of Boonville; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Shannon Woolsey and Donald J. Woolsey, all of Boonville, Steve and Brenda Woolsey of Newburgh, and Greg and Anita Woolsey of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilee and Randy Ingram of Henderson, Ky.; two aunts, Mary Summers and her husband, Bob, of Evansville, and Alice "Tootie" Dillbeck of Newburgh; a brother-in-law and good friend, Richard "Troop" Helms of Tennyson; cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special friend and nurse, Rod Kates of the Visiting Nurse Association.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 6 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Willie Brimm Jr.
Newburgh resident William "Willie" Frederick Brimm Jr. died Sunday, Dec. 5 at his home, after finally succumbing to prostate cancer. He was 65.
Willie was born July 17, 1939 in Boonville. He was a lifetime Alcoan, member and first black captain of the Evansville College's undefeated football team, where he graduated. He was a 1957 graduate of Boonville High School.
Willie was always community-minded and worked closely with the United Way and Rehab Services of Southern Indiana. Even at this time, he would like to encourage men to have their prostate checked regularly.
He was a member of the Lord's Church of Prayer in Newburgh and a former member of the Jaycees in Boonville.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Birdie Brimm; all of his brothers, Herbert Lee, James Henry, John David and Leroy; his son, Timothy Ates; and his sister-in-law, Eleanor.
William is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Brimm, of Newburgh; his daughter, Angela Kaye Brimm of Evansville; three stepchildren, Vickie Ates of Florida, Cyndi Jo Ashby of Newburgh and Greg Ashby and his wife, Kari, of Evansville; five grandchildren, Danielle, John David, Dalton, Steven and Ashley; and a whole gang of his "old Alcoa buddies."
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with Rev. Esther Dampier officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville. Friends may call from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Douglas Bigham
Portage resident Douglas Deon Bigham died Monday, Nov. 15 at the Porter Memorial Hospital in Portage. He was 47.
Douglas was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Bigham; and his grandparents, Lester and Zora Bigham and Ray and Gladys Driver.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Judy (Emery) Bigham; three sons, William Bigham and Austin Bigham, both of Portage, and James Michael of Hobart; his mother, Geraldine (Dean) Neighbors of Hatfield; two brothers, Anthony Clark Bigham of Waldroff, Md., and James Carl Bigham of Hatfield; a sister, Traci Waynette Bigham of Hatfield; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 19 at the Engel Funeral Home in Portage.
Glyna Sanders
Shiloh, Tenn., resident Glyna Ruth Sanders died Monday, Oct. 4 at 4:45 p.m. at the home of her son, after losing her battle with bone cancer. She was 65.
Glyna was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Hammond. She was born March 5, 1939 in Lyon County, Ky., to Ray and Gladys (Knight) Driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Thomas Sanders; three sisters, Verna Ray Driver, Thelma Lee Sexton and Gloria Fern Blackmon.
Glyna is survived by a son, Duane Thomas Sanders; two daughters, Marilyn Joan Cruz of Hobart and Cheryl Lynette Sanders of Whiting; three granddaughters; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Driver of Knox, Garth Driver of Portage, Faron Driver of LaCross and Kamen Driver of Murray, Ky.; six sisters, Geraldine Neighbors of Hatfield, Viva Tinsley of Hopkinsville, Ky., Brenda Davis of Old Hickory, Tenn., Vivian Starr Lewellyn of Murray, Ky., and Becky Conger and Detra Campbell, both of Marion, Ky.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 8 at the Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tenn., with burial in Prospect Cemetery in Selmer, Tenn.
Helen A.C. Leister
Helen A. C. Leister, 75, of Fort Branch, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born to the late Victor and Irma (Fruedenberg) Pflug on April 29, 1929 in Mackey.
She was a member of the Fort Branch First Presbyterian Church and the VFW Post 2714 Women's Auxiliary. She retired from Hansen's Manufacturing in Princeton, after 27 years of service.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernie Pflug, in 2002; and a grandson, David Klusmeier, in 1999.
Helen is survived by her husband, Paul and five children, Elaine Klusmeier, of Francisco, Marlene Davis, of Evansville, Steve Leister, of Owensville, Diana Heldt, of Newburgh and Paula Hall of Bowling Green, Ky.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Ind. 168 West in Fort Branch, with the Rev. Tarrell Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Fort Branch. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 29, 2004 at the funeral home.
Clesta M. Culbertson
Clesta M. Culbertson, 92, of Oakland City, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, in Jasper. She was born Dec. 7, 1912 in Pike County to Franklin "Curley" and Molly McGillem.
She was a housewife an member of First Pentecostal Church, in Oakland City.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Shane McCallister and her husband Hobart Culbertson.
She is survived by daughter, Helen Pride, of Algiers; son, George "Jim" Culbertson, of Oakland City; grandchildren, Cindy Coleman, Michael Pride, Molly Myles, Thomas Culbertson, Connie Loveless, George "Toby" Culbertson and Steven Culbertson; 24 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Elisa Hartley, of Somerville and Grace West of Petersburg.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2004 at the First Pentecostal Church, in Oakland City, with burial in Somerville Cemetery. Bros. Chuck Harrington, Pat McCandles and Bob Shepherd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, and from noon until services Saturday at the church.
Jerry Lee "Jake" Foster
Jerry Lee "Jake" Foster , 74, of Princeton, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at the North Park Nursing Center, in Evansville following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Evansville, the fifth of seven children to Elwood and Maude (Pierce) Foster , both deceased.
His oldest brother, Elwood Jr. died July 1991.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 1147. He retired as custodian of St. Joseph Catholic School, in Princeton.
He is survived by sons, Brian and Bruce, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild, all of California; brothers, Bill, of Vincennes, Frank and John, both of Princeton; sisters, Betty (Foster ) Lindy, of Fairborn, Ohio and Mary Alice (Foster ) Kimbrough, of Richmond; an uncle, George Hedge and his wife Shirley, of Princeton; an aunt, Virginia (Hedge) Osborne and her husband Joe, of Knoxville, Tenn; several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and will follow the deceased's request for cremation without visitation. A family burial and service will take place at a later date.
Judith B. Hill
Judith B. Hill, 62, of Mt. Olympus, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 16, 1942 in Oakland City to Fred And Eunice (Gladish) Lindy.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for the Gibson General Hospital Women's Auxiliary and the North Gibson School Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Neil Lindy; and a sister, Helen Wood.
She is survived by her husband, William Hill, of Mt. Olympus; sons, David Michael (Susan) Hill, of Mt. Olympus and Russell (Erica) Hill, of Wheeler; a brother, Fred (Shirley) Lindy, of Tempe, Ariz.; sisters, Winnie (Bill) Garner, of Atlanta, Ga., Jo Anne (Jack) Still, of Grayson, Ga. and June (Ron) Like, of Petersburg; and grandchildren, Jacob Michael, Christian David and Kira Jo Hill.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. in Princeton, with Pastors Paul Huntsman and Wesley Garris officiating. Interment will be at Union Community Cemetery. Visitation will from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church or the Mt. Olympus Community Center.
Charles Earl Self
Charles Earl "Pete" Self, 93, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born Oct. 12, 1911 in Vincennes.
He was a former U.S. Postal Service employee and long-haul truck driver. He lived in Oaktown and Vincennes for several years, as well as Princeton, Oblong and Owenboro, Ky. He was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge in Patoka.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Harvey Self, of Oaktown; two daughters, Marjorie Wayatt and family, of Nashville, Tenn., and Betty Null and family, of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Opal McCord, of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Hazleton Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday.
Dorothy E. Wallace
Dorothy E. Wallace, 82, died Tuesday at the Owensville Manor. She was born on April 17, 1922 in Cynthiana, to the late Lewis and Lula (Wilson) Williams.
She retired from Emge Meat Packing Company and was a member of the First Christian Church in Owensville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Wallace in 1995 and an infant brother, James Allen Williams.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Clyde) Scott, of Owensville; a son, Charles (Cinda) Painter, of Bowling Green, Ky.; grandchildren, Collin Painter, Ryan Scott and Carmen Lowry; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Jessica, Bethany, Jaymen and Cara; sisters, Nova Stewart of Kissimmee, Fla., Louise Reeves and Betty Ankenbrand, both of Mount Carmel, Ill., and Delores Deutsch, of Fort Wayne.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holders Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery. Bart Newton will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
