Donald Walter
LaPORTE -- Donald L. Walter, 93, LaPorte, died at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 29, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, with the Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Walter was born Sept. 2, 1910, in LaPorte, to Edward and Catherine (Stachler) Walter. On June 13, 1940, in LaPorte, he married Bernice Luebler, who died Oct. 18, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Walter, LaPorte; a son, Donald (Carol) Walter, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Mary Marcellian, Dayton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Walter retired from Coca-Cola Co. after 40 years of employment.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 492, Fellowship Rank -- Legion of the Moose and F.O.P Lodge 54 of LaPorte.

Paul Reese
Paul E. Reese, 84, Michigan City, died at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 29, 2003) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.
Cremation will take place. There will be no viewing. Private family burial of the cremains will be in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Root Funeral Home, 312 E. Seventh St., Michigan City, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reese was born July 11, 1919, in Chicago, to Bessie Frysinger Owens.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Harmon and Rose Horn, both of Michigan City; five grandchildren, Michael Ramp, Robert (fianc/e Tiffany Ramierez) Sampson, Jessica Ramp, Beth Ann Lestage and Brian Lestage; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Grady Murray Reese.
Mr. Reese was retired from Paltier after many years of service.
Dolores Siwek
SOUTH BEND -- Dolores J. Siwek, 77, South Bend, formerly of Michigan City, died at 9:35 a.m. E.S.T. Wednesday (Oct. 29, 2003) in Hospice House.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. E.S.T. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Bend. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. E.S.T. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. E.S.T.
Mrs. Siwek was born March 4, 1926, in Michigan City, to Vincent and Mary Ann (Kulka) Koziatek. On June 8, 1946, she married Joseph S. Siwek, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Patricia) Siwek, Grand Rapids, Mich.; four daughters, Patricia (Robert) Couch, South Bend, Deborah (Timothy) Cunningham, Buchanan, Mich., Julie (Garry) DeYoung, New Carlisle, and Mary (Douglas) Henion, South Bend; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Adeline Iwaszewski, South Bend, and Lorraine Dobrzykowski, Mishawaka, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Koziatek Jr.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the Hoosier Grandmothers Club. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, Hospice of St. Joseph County or Holy Cross Church.
Ronnie Watson
KNOX, Ind. -- Ronnie A. Watson, 55, Knox, formerly of Michigan City, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 28, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, with the Rev. Dan McDonald, First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Watson was born July 6, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ark., to Floyd S. and Mary D. (Fowler) Watson.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Swistek, Michigan City; one son, Mark (Alison) Watson, LaPorte; and three grandchildren, Morgan Swistek and Michael and Sydney Watson.
Mr. Watson had been employed with the Indiana State Highway Department for seven years and recently with Sav-A-Lot in LaPorte for the past four years as a meat cutter.
He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and enjoyed riding horses.
Mildred Eschenbaum
Mildred R. "Millie" Eschenbaum, 80, Michigan City, died at 5:47 p.m. Monday (Oct. 27, 2003) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of All Saints Church, with the Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Root Funeral Home, and from 9:45 a.m. until the service Friday at the church. A wake service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eschenbaum was born July 10, 1923, in Michigan City, to Anthony and Lillian Blaskey. On Nov. 27, 1943, before he was shipped out for military service during World War II, she married Keith E. Eschenbaum, Sr. in Miami, Fla. He died Sept. 26, 1998.
Surviving are one son, Keith E. (Ginger) Eschenbaum, Jr., Golden, Colo.; one granddaughter, Lindsay Eschenbaum, Golden; one niece, Judy Koczian; and two nephews, Dick and Ted Brink.
Preceding her in death was one sister, Virginia Brink.
Mrs. Eschenbaum worked for more than 20 years in the Personnel Department at Dunham-Bush and retired from the Personnel Department at St. Anthony Hospital after more than 10 years of service.
Mrs. Eschenbaum was a member of Queen of All Saints Church.
Wanda Lee Robbins
LAKE STATION, Ind. -- Wanda Lee Robbins, 72, Lake Station, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday (Oct. 31, 2003) at her residence.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carlisle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael J. Bean officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Robbins was born March 9, 1931, in Johnson City, Ill., to Curtis and Ola Mae (Cates) Williams. She married Coy Robbins, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Keith Gay and Ronnie Gay, both of LaPorte, Danny Robbins, Tuscembia, Ala., and Ronnie Joe (Barbara) Robbins, Cherokee, Ala.; three daughters, Brenda (Lee) Day, LaPorte, Doris Robbins, Kaufman, Texas, and Candy Jerrell, Bryant Ark.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Curtis (Caroline) Williams, Roger (Kathy) Cates and Forrest (Brenda) Cates, all of Michigan City, and Ronald (Susie) Williams, LaPorte; and four sisters, Louise (Ted) Wible, New Carlisle, Carol Sue (Roger) Werth, Shreveport, La., Sharlene Anderson, St. Petersburg, Fla. and Phyllis (Dennis) Daehn, Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Doris June Kieffer.
Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Irene Bechinski
Irene A. Bechinski, 92, Michigan City, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 3, 2003) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, where St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. Visitation also is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where Mothers of World War II will conduct a memorial service at 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Bechinski was born July 17, 1911, in Chesterton to Andrew and Josephine (Chlebowski) Losinski. On Oct. 22, 1932, in Michigan City, she married John H. Bechinski, who died Feb. 16, 1984.
She is survived by one daughter, Audrey (Dan) Eisele, Michigan City; one son, Ronald (Darlene) Bechinski, LaPorte; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Eisele, Michigan City, and Viola Woods, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one brother, Edwin Losinski, Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Flanigan and Ann Schutte, and one grandson, Scott Bechinski.
Mrs. Bechinski worked as a deli manager at Al's Thrifty Mart for 11 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, its Rosary Sodality and Young at Heart Club, The Mothers of World War II.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Bryan Berry
LaPORTE -- Bryan K. Berry, 20, LaPorte, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 2, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Larry Green officiating. Burial is in Salem Cemetery, LaPorte. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Berry was born July 14, 1983, in Morristown, Tenn., to Tawana (Simon) Gill, who survives in Zephyrhills, Fla., and Steven Berry, who survives in LaPorte.
Also surviving are one sister, Jennifer Simon, Zephyrhills; two grandmothers, Wanda Berry, Morristown, and Cheryl Morgan, East Dundee, Ill.; one niece, and several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Berry lived most of his life in the LaPorte area.
Christine Kuchik
Christine D. Kuchik, 53, Michigan City, died Sunday (Nov. 2, 2003) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carlisle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Pickens officiating. Burial is in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ms. Kuchik was born April 23, 1950, in Telico Plains, Tenn., to Hurshell and Clara Phillips, who survive in Michigan City.
She also is survived by three sons, Guy (Heidi) See, South Bend, Darryle J. See, Michigan City, and Myles C. Kuchik, Michigan City; one daughter, Dejon (Daniel) Coapstick, Michigan City; three grandchildren, Jacob See, Alex Coapstick and Makaylee Coapstick; and one sister, Beverly (David) Glancy, Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Newlon.
Ms. Kuchik was a homemaker and Full Gospel House of Prayer member. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Larry Murray Sr.
NEW CARLISLE -- Larry J. Murray Sr., 53, New Carlisle, died at 3 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 2, 2003) at his home.
A memorial service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Penelope Brown officiating, after which the Air Force will hold a military service. Cremation is planned. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Murray was born Nov. 25, 1949, in Flint, Mich., to Fred Murray and Jody (Barker) Fogarty, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Jamie Murray and Misty Murray, both of Knox, Ind.; two sons, Rhyon C. Murray, Hudson Lake, and Larry J. Murray Jr., Kingsford Heights; one grandchild; two sisters, Charlie (Terry) Burleson and Terri (Michael) Skaggs, both of Hudson Lake; one brother, Kenneth (Nora) Hanson, New Carlisle; and a maternal grandmother, Hazel Burns, South Bend.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Addison.
Mr. Murray was a Swanson Center case worker who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a sergeant. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He lived in the Hudson Lake/New Carlisle area for 22 years, coming from Florida.

Infant Kaden Anthony Baker
Infant Kaden Anthony Baker died Tuesday (Oct. 18, 2003).
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at John's United Church of Christ, Michigan City, with the Rev. William Fine officiating.
Kaden was born Oct. 1, 2003, in Indianapolis to Amanda Baker, who survives in LaPorte.
Survivors include a grandmother, Debbie Baker, LaPorte; a grandfather, Kevin Baker, Sun Prairie, Wis..; an uncle, Bryan Baker, Sun Praoroe; and a great-grandmother, Thelma McLemore, Michigan City.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Kennith McLemore and Dale Baker; a great-grandmother, Mary Baker; and a cousin, Lindsey Barkow.
Memorials may be made to the family at 1101 W. 10th St. Apartment 2C, LaPorte, IN 46350.
