Chuck L. Beale

1945-2003

Mr. Beale was born in Parke County, Rockville, Indiana, on July 16, 1945. He was the son of the late Charles L. and Lulah J. (Curts) Beale.

Mr. Beale was a life resident of Thorntown and a 1964 graduate of Thorntown High School.

He was formerly married to Sharon Kay (Green). He was married in Lebanon, Indiana on July 11, 1987 to Marti (Davies) Beale. Mrs. Beale survives.

Mr. Beale worked in home construction for several years and as a deliveryman for Royal Cleaners and Laundry in Lebanon. For seventeen years he was a welder employed at Palmor Products in Thorntown. Then self-employed, he operated Chuck’s Turf Care the past three years.

He served during the Viet Nam era in the U. S. Marines.

He enjoyed his family, his grandsons and their activities, many friends, camping, woodworking, golf, and sports.

Memberships: American Legion Post No. 113 in Lebanon, Indiana

Formerly a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lebanon

Officiating: Rev. Bud Moody

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2003 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana with military graveside rites.

Patsy R. Bowen

1926-2003

Mrs. Bowen was born in Boone County near Elizaville, Indiana, on June 28, 1926. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Allen and Rebecca Mabel (Long) Newkirk.

Mrs. Bowen was a life-resident of Boone County. She was reared in the Elizaville community. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1947.

She was married in Lebanon, Indiana, on March 15, 1949, to Byron O. Bowen. Mr. Bowen survives.

Her work included positions at Scott’s 5 & 10, Haag Drug Store, the Franklin Ice Cream Store, Stewart Warner Corporation, and four years at Stanworth Tool until she retired in 1970.

Mrs. Bowen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family helping to care for her grandchildren.

Funeral Services are planned for Sunday, November 2, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 1, 2003, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon, Indiana.

Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon, Indiana.

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Mrs. Broshar was born near Lebanon, Indiana on August 27, 1921, the daughter of the late Clarence Harland and Edith Marie (James) Endicott.

She was a life resident of Boone County and a 1939 graduate of Dover High School.

She was married in Lebanon, Indiana, on August 27, 1939, to Raymond L. Broshar. Mr. Broshar died on November 13, 1997.

She and Mr. Broshar lived on a farm in Jefferson Township near Dover for fifty-four years and moved to Lebanon in 1993. She worked for ten years as a deputy in the auditor’s office for former Boone County Auditor Charles Taylor.

Mrs. Broshar was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family, church, and music.

Memberships: Dover Christian Church at Dover where she was choir director for 30 years

Interment will be at the Dover Cemetery in Dover, Indiana.

Ms. Brush was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, on August 16, 1982, the daughter of Donald E. Brush and Antoinette Lisa Ferch.

She spent her life in Whitestown and attended Lebanon High School.

She was engaged to be married to Johnathan Kivett.

She enjoyed her family and friends with whom she spent time hanging out and listening to music. She also liked puzzles and writing.

Officiating: David Bourne of the New Hope Christian Church

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Browns Wonder Cemetery near Lebanon.

Byron A. Kouns

1919-2003

Mr. Kouns was born on November 20, 1919, in Boone County, Indiana, the son of the late Karl John and Ethel (Christian) Kouns.

A life resident of Boone County, he graduated from Zionsville High School in 1937. He attended Indiana Business School in Indianapolis for two years.

He married Bonnie J. (Nease) Kouns in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on September 28, 1940. Mrs. Kouns survives.

He has served in the U.S. Army from 1941 - 1945 and spent thirty-three months in the South Pacific.

Mr. Kouns had owned a milk route and farmed a few years. He then worked for Highpoint Oil Company in Plainfield as a petroleum and oil deliveryman delivering Marathon products until he retired in 1983, after 30 years of service. In retirement he had also been a realtor for Weber Real Estate in Lebanon.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and basketball.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Interment will be at Oak Hill in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Dorothy E. Johnson

1925-2003

Mrs. Johnson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Russell Leo and Margaret (Newman) Lichliter.

Mrs. Johnson was reared and educated in Indianapolis.

She was formerly married to Elmo Glenn Ganibrel and they divorced. She was married in Lebanon, Indiana on November 6, 1970 to Lyle Edward Johnson. Mr. Johnson survives.

She left Indianapolis following her first marriage and resided in Wilmington, California near Huntington Beach. She returned to reside in Lebanon with her son, Glenn, in 1969.

In Lebanon, she worked at the Stewart-Warner Corporation prior to being employed for eighteen years at the Boone County court House as a custodian. She retired there in 1997.

In addition to her family, she enjoyed sewing and making dolls, cooking, and free hand sketching.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March, 20, 2003, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Internment will be at Center Cemetery near Lebanon, Indiana.
