City of Residence: 1502 Yates Street, Lebanon, Indiana

Date of Death: Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 2:45 a.m.

Place of Death: Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, Indiana

Cause of Death: Natural Causes

Mrs. Carney was born in Coal County, Oklahoma, on October 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry Radcliffe and Mary Flossie (Clark) Nelson.

Mrs. Carney was reared and educated in Coal County, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Lehigh High school in 1937 and received a B.S. in education in 1955 from Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma.

As a school teacher she was employed for one year in Atoka, Oklahoma. She then taught for twenty-one years in Anchorage, Alaska. She taught the third grade at Mountainview, Fairview, and Creek Side Park schools until her retirement in 1978.

Her first marriage was to Ivan Harrison in Oklahoma and they divorced. She was married on June 30, 1960 in Anchorage, Alaska to James “Jimmy” Carney. Mr. Carney survives.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed square dancing, crocheting Afghans, reading, and ceramics.

Officiating: Rev. Raymond Duff

Private Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2003, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

No visitation is planned.

Myers Mortuary in Lebanon, Indiana is handling arrangements.

Husband: Mr. James J. Carney - Lebanon, Indiana

Two Daughters: Sheila K. Westover - Provo, Utah

One Step Son: Jerry L. Carney - Stanford, Kentucky

Two Brothers: Mr. Albert H. Nelson - Antioch, California

Mr. Billy C. Nelson - Houston, Texas

Thirteen Great Grandchildren

One sister, Mrs. Peggy Arnett is deceased.

Carol A. Nicely

1925-2003

Mrs. Nicely was born in Brazil, Indiana on September 20, 1946, and was a daughter of the late John Edward and Carol Jean (Eberle) Muncie. Mrs. Nicely died on June 29, 2003 as a result of complications from diabetes.

Mrs. Nicely was reared and educated in Terre Haute, Indiana where she attended school.

She was married to David L. Nicely on January 7, 1967, in Lebanon, Indiana. Mr. Nicely survives.

She lived most of her life in Lebanon and had also resided in Elkhart, and Indianapolis.

She worked as an assistant manager for McDonald’s in Elkhart for twelve years. In Indianapolis, she first worked for Meijer Supermarkets for seven years, and worked the last four years as the assistant manager in the Deli at Marsh Supermarkets.

In addition to her family, she enjoyed traveling.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.

Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Indiana.

Husband: Mr. David L. Nicely - Indianapolis, Indiana

Two Sons:

Mr. David Lee Nicely, II and his wife, Kimberly - Indianapolis, Indiana

Mr. James Lee Nicely and his wife, Heather - Elkhart, Indiana

Two Brothers: Mr. Edward E. Muncie and his wife, Sue - Lebanon, Indiana

Mr. John D. Muncie and his wife, Sue - Indianapolis, Indiana

Two Grandchildren: Ambrosia N. Nicely and Conner A. Nicely

Several nieces and nephews survive

Deceased: A sister, Brenda S. Large, and a brother, Robert W. Muncie, are deceased.

James N. Isenhower

1942-2003

A life-resident of Lebanon, Mr. Isenhower was born in Lebanon, Indiana on March 10, 1942 and was a son of the late James and Jane (Small) Isenhower.

Mr. Isenhower attended Lebanon schools until involved in a hunting accident in 1956. He worked a number of years at Goodwill Industries in Indianapolis.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing, reading, and historical events.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at
Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Myers
Mortuary in Lebanon.

Interment will be at Center Cemetery east of Lebanon.

James R. Glendenning

1925-2003

Mr. Glendenning was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on September 19, 1925. He was the son of the late James and Opal M. (Shockley) Glendenning.

He had served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific from 1944-1946.

He was married to Mary Alice (White) Glendenning on October 3, 1947, in Lebanon, Indiana. They divorced in 1997.

Mr. Glendenning was reared and educated in Lebanon where he attended Lebanon High School. He was a tool & die maker at Winkler’s, formerly Stewart Warner for 14 years. He then worked at the U.S. Postal Service in Lebanon for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Following retirement, he worked part-time in the machine shop at Prairie Industries from 1988-1999.

A devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching I.U. basketball.

A life member of VFW Post 910, Lebanon, where he served as commander in 1988 & 1989.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003, at Myers Mortuary, Lebanon. Elks rites will be at 8:00 p.m.

Interment with military rites at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Indiana

Jean L. Jeffries

1920-2003

Mr. Jeffries was born on October 14, 1920, in Lebanon, Indiana, the son of the late Basil and Allyene (Radford) Jeffries.

A life resident of Lebanon, with the exception of the period spent in Florida, Mr. Jeffries graduated from Lebanon High School in 1939. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a corporal and spent time in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Southern France, and Germany. He was discharged in 1945 and received a bronze star.

He was married to Martha Anne (Jackson) Jeffries in Angola, Indiana on October 26, 1940. Mrs. Jeffries survives.

Mr. Jeffries had worked at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis prior to and following the period spent in the service. He retired there as a department supervisor after thirty-nine plus years.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed his family, traveling, playing cards and watching basketball. The couple had wintered five years in Florida before they moved to Ft. Myers in 1984. They had moved to Sebring, Florida and then returned to Lebanon in 2000.

Memberships: Boone Lodge No 9 F. & A. M. in Lebanon

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Interment with military honors at the grave will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned for 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.
