Cause of Death: Natural Causes following an extended illness
Mr. Birge was born in Thorntown, Indiana, on September 2, 1934, the son of the late Carlis Francis and Hazel Irene (Veach) Birge.
He lived in Thorntown, Bainbridge, and Westfield prior to entering the U. S. Army in 1953. He served in Germany until he was discharged in 1956.
He was formerly married to Joan C. Lyda. In Franklin, Indiana on July 20, 1965, he married Betty June (Patterson) Birge. Mrs. Birge survives.
He lived in Lebanon and worked in Zionsville at Pitman-Moore which became Dow Chemical. He retired in 1986. During retirement, he resided for a time in Winter Haven, Florida before the couple moved to Rockville in 1997.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and enjoyed his family, motorcycles, and horses. Mr. Birge was formerly in the Masonic Lodge and American Legion.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Thorntown, Indiana.
No Visitation will be held.
Myers Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.
Interment will follow military rites at the cemetery.

Betty Louise Blackwell
Mrs. Blackwell was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 28, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Clyde R. Landis, M.D. and Genevieve M. (Gabriel) Landis. Her step mother was Hazel M. Atmur Landis.
She was married in Austin, Texas, on January 21, 1945, to William Thomas Blackwell, Jr. Mr. Blackwell died on November 4, 2000.
Mrs. Blackwell attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin; she graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Music Education; Butler University M.M. Degree in Music Education; and the IUPUI Real Estate School. She resided in Lebanon since 1951.
For over thirty years she taught music in public schools and gave private lessons. At Dover High School she taught band and coral music nine years; in Lebanon she taught for twenty-one years. She secured a real estate license in 1976 and worked full time in Real Estate as a sales associate for Century 21 which became Carpenter Realtors.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Blackwell enjoyed her family and grandchildren as well as their activities. In addition, she enjoyed teaching music to all of her students over the years.

Mr. Boles was born in Sullivan, Indiana, on May 23, 1936, the son of the late Raymond and Martha Elizabeth (Kelly) Boles.
Mr. Boles was reared and educated in Portland, Indiana where he was a 1954 graduate of Portland High School. He entered and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he moved to Indianapolis where he lived until the family moved to Lebanon.
He was married to Shirley Jean (Rogers) Boles in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 11, 1963. Mrs. Boles survives.
Mr. Boles worked for Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors in Indianapolis until he retired in 1991. He had worked in the transmission and turbine divisions and last was assigned to Plant 8.
Mr. Boles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In addition to his family he enjoyed fishing, golf, and bowling.
In 1995 Mr. and Mrs. Boles moved to live in Englewood, Florida and returned to Lebanon in 2002.

Mr. Bowen was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 8, 1954. He was the son of the late Morton and Lillian (Gayhart) Bowen.
He was formerly married to Teresa A. Cooper and then to Julie M. Maxwell. In Lebanon, Indiana on October 21, 2002, he was married to Cherl (Frick) Purkhiser Bowen. Mrs. Bowen survives.
He was reared and educated in Indianapolis where he attended Arsenal Technical High School. He moved to Lebanon in 1987 where he had since resided.
Mr. Bowen worked for a period driving a wrecker in Indianapolis For Interstate Wrecker Service and Bud’s Wrecker Service. He then became a service technician for Brewmaster where he worked until he retired due to his health in January 2008.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and employee. Mr. Bowen enjoyed his family and grandchildren as well as their activities. In addition, he was a handyman and took pride in helping other with projects in construction and remodeling. He also liked to work on cars. He was an enthusiast patriot when it came to the Fourth of July. He liked to celebrate and entertain family and friends with activities and fireworks displays.

Funeral Services are to be held on Friday, May 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008.
Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County, Indiana.

Mrs. Bowen was born in Boone County near Elizaville, Indiana, on June 28, 1926. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Allen and Rebecca Mabel (Long) Newkirk.
Mrs. Bowen was a life-resident of Boone County. She was reared in the Elizaville community. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1947.
She was married in Lebanon, Indiana, on March 15, 1949, to Byron O. Bowen. Mr. Bowen survives.
Her work included positions at Scott’s 5 & 10, Haag Drug Store, the Franklin Ice Cream Store, Stewart Warner Corporation, and four years at Stanworth Tool until she retired in 1970.
Mrs. Bowen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family helping to care for her grandchildren.
