Mrs. Shelley was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on May 23, 1919. She was a daughter of the late John and Susie Louisa (Miller) Dickerson.

She was married to Merritt Hugo Ford in Lebanon in 1938 and they divorced. She was married to Robert E. Shelley in 1950 in Frankfort, Indiana. Mr. Shelley survives.

Mrs. Shelley worked as a nurse aide having provided private duty care in various area homes.

She lived in Lebanon, Frankfort, and Clarks Hill before entering the nursing facility at Mulberry.

Mrs. Mary Scott was born in Boone County, Indiana, on July 10, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Rush J. and Hattie Edith (Sparks) Saunders.

She was reared and educated in Boone County, and was a 1935 graduate of Dover High School.

She was married on March 12, 1939, to Joseph Oscar Scott. Mr. Scott passed away October 10, 1995.

Mrs. Scott was employed at Thorntown Textile for seven years until retiring in 1969.

Mrs. Scott attended First Presbyterian Church, while living in Lebanon.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker and

She enjoyed sewing, crafts, needlepoint and cooking /baking for her family and friends.

Mrs. Schaeffer was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on September 29, 1925. She was the last of seven children born to the late Don Carl and Minnie M. (Airheart) Rose.

She was a resident of Boone County most of her life and she graduated from Dover High School.

She was married in San Diego, California, on Decmeber 20, 1947, to Douglas P. Schaeffer. Mr. Schaeffer died on January 5, 2001.

While her husband served in the U. S. Marie Corps, she resided in Hawaii and California. In California she worked as a manager for DeLights, a custom interior lighting company. In Indianapolis she was employed at RCA producing records for a number of years. They lived in Lebanon many years. The couple retired and resided in Salt Springs, Florida where she resided until she returned to Lebanon in 2005.

Mrs. Schaeffer was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her family gardening, and house plants.

Graveside Memorial Services are to be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana.

Mrs. Ross was born in Pontiac, Michigan on April 13, 1921, the daughter of the late James Ernest and Marion Fanny (Elder) Mahar.

She was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan until she moved to Lebanon in 2001. Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School in 1939 and attended East Lansing University.

She was married to John “Jack” Ross in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on August 3, 1943. Mr. Ross died in August 1996.

She was a substitute teacher in Waterford Township for a number of years until she retired in 1997.

She enjoyed her family, reading, crocheting, needlepoint, golfing, bowling, and traveling. She served for twenty years as president of the Waterford School Board in Waterford, Michigan.

1952-2003

Mr. McIntyre was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on October 12, 1952. He was the son of Robert Leon and Betty Jean (Mills) McIntyre. His parents survive.

Mr. McIntyre was a life resident of Lebanon, where he graduated from Lebanon High School in 1970. He had attended Purdue University and studied nursing.

He was first married to Sue (Spidel) McIntyre on December 18, 1972. They divorced in 1992. He then married Patricia Sue (Guthrie) McIntyre in Lebanon, Indiana, on October 28, 1996. Mrs. McIntyre survives.

Mr. McIntyre had worked in the produce and dairy departments at Kroger’s in Lebanon. He retired in 1998 following 29 years of service.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed boating at Raccoon Lake and
NASCAR.

Memberships: He was formerly a member of the Masonic Lodge at Mechanicsburg, the Thorntown Kiwanis Club, and the Jaycees in Lebanon.

Officiating: Pastor Lowell Spaulding

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Myers Chapel of
Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Myers
Mortuary, Lebanon.

Cremation will follow.

Sandra Kay Burns

1943-2003

Sandra Kay (“Sande”) Burns, 59, of Lebanon died at 1:05 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2003, at Witham Memorial Hospital. She was born at Witham on June 15, 1943, the daughter of Cleo F. (“Feisty”) Greene and Crystal A. (Padgett) Greene; they preceded her in death.

A Lebanon native, she was educated in the Lebanon School System, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1961. She then attended and graduated from Indiana Business School in Indianapolis.

She married Michael Eugene Burns at Lebanon’s Centenary United Methodist Church on February 4, 1964. The couple had just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary, and he survives.

Sande was Bailiff and office manager for former Boone County Superior Court One Judge O.A. Kincaid III from 1990 until she was diagnosed with cancer on October 8, 2002. She had been employed in the personnel department of UPS for several years before becoming a personal secretary to Indiana Attorney General Ted Sendak in the early 1970’s. She later served in the state’s Tourism Development Division, Indiana Department of Commerce, under both Lt. Gov. Robert Orr and Lt. Gov. John Mutz from 1978 to 1989.

Active in Republican politics, she and her husband have been Boone County GOP precinct committee members since 1980. Sande was appointed Boone County Coordinator in 1988 for the Mutz for Governor campaign. She and her husband, along with Paul and Betty Green of Zionsville, served in that same capacity for Rex Early when he sought the Republican nomination for Governor in 1996.

She was a member of the Boone County Republican Women’s Club, the Lady Elks, Friends of the Library and the National Federation of Republican Women, as well as a sustaining member of the Witham Hospital Foundation and Lebanon’s Center Stage Community Theatre.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Greene McDaniel and Norma Greene Cozzy. In addition to her husband she is survived by son, Bradley Eugene Burns; his wife, Tracy; and their children Joshua, Liza, and Alexandra of Camby, Indiana; and son Boyd Franklin Burns; his wife Tonya; and their children Kathryn, Courtney; and Samantha Kay of Newnan, Georgia.

She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and a loyal friend to many.

Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, where services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Deeter officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Public Library, 104 E. Washington Street, Lebanon, or The Bernie Burns Memorial Scholarship fund, Republican Women’s’ Club, P.O. Box 228, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
