VINCENNES -- JoAnn Peggy Foreman, 69, died at 3:38 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born June 5, 1934, in Loogootee, she was the daughter of William and Mary Ellen (Fritz) Jackson.
A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she had worked at Taco Bell. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by one son, Roy J. Foreman of Vincennes; one daughter, Mary Hillman of Washington; one sister, Jeannie Rose of Thompsonville, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Jerome Foreman, Lorenzo Hillman, and Jade Hillman.
Her husband, Archie L. Foreman, died Sept. 16, 1987. One granddaughter is also deceased.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, Vincennes, with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

PETERSBURG -- Wilma Woolsey, 90, died at 5:58 p.m. Sunday at Petersburg Health Care.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, Petersburg. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

HAYSVILLE -- Lovella A. Eisenhut, 72, died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

H. Leta Dunn
WHEATLAND -- H. Leta Dunn, 83, died at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville.
Born Feb. 10, 1920, in Moniteau County, Mo., she was the daughter of Herman J. and Eva L. (Vaughn) Whittaker.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Wheatland United Methodist Church. For several years, she served as a part-time pianist at church. She was also a member of the Wheatland Federated Study Club.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Dobbyn of Wheatland, Dana Wyant of Vincennes, and Carol Courtney of Washington; sons, Ronald Dunn of Evansville, and Alan Dunn of Indianapolis; twin sister, Neta Jones of Shreveport, La.; grandchildren, Rachel (Wyant) Hayden and Guy Wyant, both of Vincennes, Eric Wyant of West Lafayette, Jamie Dunn, Jeffrey Dunn and Jonathan Dunn, all of Indianapolis, Lora (Dobbyn) Smith of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Christine Dobbyn of Columbus, Ohio, and Mark Dobbyn of Brownsburg; great-grandchildren, Tanner G. Dobbyn, Trevor A. Dobbyn, Hannah E. Smith, and Harrison S. Smith.
Her husband, Mark H. Dunn, whom she married Feb. 20, 1944, died March 16, 1992. Five sisters are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wheatland United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wheatland Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Family Funeral Home, Vincennes.
Preferred memorials are to the South Knox Education Foundation, Wheatland United Methodist Church, or the Diabetes Foundation.

Robert Miles Jr.
Robert Miles Jr., 77, 532 N.W. Sixth St., died at 8:55 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital, Evansville.
Born June 4, 1926, in Washington, he was the son of Lillie (Dennis) and Robert Miles Sr.
He attended Washington Catholic High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, European Theatre. He was retired from Uniroyal in Indianapolis and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He played drums and guitar in the Indiana Band at Indianapolis and the Stan Cardinal Band locally and in Illinois. He also loved bowling in the Washington leagues.
He is survived by his wife, Opal (Burton) Potts Miles, whom he married Sept. 21, 1991; one brother, James Miles of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Lois) Purdue of Indianapolis, Mrs. Harry (Irene) McHugh of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Phyllis Huges of Mooresville; stepsons, Gary E. Potts of Loogootee, Doug Potts of Saganaw, Texas, and Tony Potts of Velpen; stepdaughter, Mrs. Earl (Linda) Slover of Clairmont, Ill.; nine stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Donald Miles.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Simon's Church, with Fr. David Martin as the celebrant. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Eula C. Brett
LOOGOOTEE -- Eula C. Brett, 74, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Born June 12, 1929, in Loogootee, she was the daughter of James and Delia (Cannon) Chandler.
A member of Loogootee United Methodist Church, she retired in December 2002 after 48 years at Loogootee Perfect Fit.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen H. and Janis Brett of Loogootee; and two grandchildren, Jarrod Brett of Worthington, and Katy Brett of Indianapolis.
Her husband, Hugh H. Brett, whom she married Oct. 10, 1948, died July 18, 1994. One brother, Forrest Chandler, is also deceased.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brocksmith Funeral Home, Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Loogootee High School Scholarship Trust.

MONROE CITY -- Bonnie M. Mize, 78, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at Gentlecare of Vincennes.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harris Funeral Home, Monroe City. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe City.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

BYRON CHAMBERS
ODON -- Byron Chambers, 58, died at 4 a.m. Thursday at Methodist Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1945, in Knox County, he was the son of Ermel and Mildred (Cottrell) Chambers.
A member of First Christian Church, he was a K-9 officer and security guard at NWSC Crane for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie (Harting) Chambers, whom he married May 23, 1963; his mother, Mildred Cress of Bicknell; five daughters, Denise (Larry) Fitzgerald of Plainville, Tammy (Kurt) Mitchell of Carthage, Melissa (Matt) Miller of Lawton, Okla., Michelle (Dan) Wilson of Loogootee, and Tina (Shawn) Peterson of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Garrett Heshelman, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Sarah Fitzgerald, Larryn Fitzgerald, Justin Miller, Brandon Miller, Caleb Miller, Samuel Wilson and Gabriel Peterson.
One sister, Carolyn (Arley) Arthur of Odon; and three brothers, Terry W. Chambers of Bicknell, Roger D. Chambers of Bemis, Tenn., and Howard D. Chambers of Bicknell, survive.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ermel Chambers; two brothers, Bob and Bill Chambers; and one sister, Betty Chambers.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Odon First Christian Church, with Bro. Richard Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Odon.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home.

JOHN (BOB) HARDY II
John (Bob) Hardy II, 77, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlands Nursing Center, Newburgh.
Born Jan. 3, 1926, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Bartha (Hall) and John Hardy I.
He had been in the Merchant Marines and was owner operator of Hardy's Meat Market for 43 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Roger) Bullock of Evansville, Carol (Brent) Elliott and Susan (Doyle) Rohlman, both of Washington; three sons, Michael (Sandy) Hardy and John R. (Jane) Hardy III, both of Newburgh, and David (Diane) Hardy of Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Huestle of Boulder, Colo.
His wife, Nancy (Sommers) Hardy, died in 1999. One son, Chester Hardy; a grandson, Daniel Bullock; a brother, William (Bill) Hardy; and a sister, Virginia Forkner, are also deceased.
The funeral will be a 10 a.m. Saturday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Louise Theyssen
Mary Louise Theyssen, 90, N. Meridian St., died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Angel River Health Care, Newburgh.
Born Feb. 5, 1913, in Plainville, she was the daughter of Daniel J. and Lula (Feltic) Clinton.
A graduate of Plainville High School, she was a retired school cook and had worked at Bicknell and North Knox School Corp. She was a former Bicknell resident.
She is survived by one stepson, Karl Theyssen of Indianapolis; one brother, Ray Clinton of Sikeston, Mo.; sisters, Ruth Hanlon of Indianapolis, Joy Cunningham and Dorothy Baldwin, both of Washington.; grandchildren, Julie Story of Newburgh, and Rae Jean Coin of Princeton; step grandchildren, Tony Theyssen, Terry Theyssen, Linda, Patty and Donna; and great-grandchildren, L'Erin and Terrin Twitty, Jessica Rudd and several others.
Her husband, Rene Theyssen, whom she married Aug. 4, 1960, died May 3, 1987. Three brothers, Gilbert, Roy J. and Carl Clinton, are also deceased. A son Donald Gene Bicknell and stepson, James W. Lloyd also are deceased.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wampler-Shaw Funeral Home, Bicknell, with Pastor David Brown officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Henry Eugene Hickle
ANDERSON -- Henry Eugene Hickle, 63, died at 2 p.m. Thursday at Madison Avenue Manor Care, Anderson. He had been ill for five years and seriously ill for two months.
Born June 23, 1940, in Maysville, Ky., he was the son of Carl Erman and Margaret (Howell) Hickle.
He retired in 1987 as an ironworker. He was a member of Sons of American Legion and enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by sons, Carl, Steve, and Jeff Hickle; daughters, Cathy (John) Wright, Susie Bunnell and Barbie (Hershell) Dick; brothers, Carl Erman Hickle, Jr., James and William Hickle; sisters, Edna Meyers, Peggy O'Cull, Brenda Tyree, Ann Curtis and Betty Hughes; stepsons, John and Louie Gerbig; stepdaughters, Crissey Jones, Linda Hall and Cheri Prowant; and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his companion, Jean Gerbig; son, Charles Eugene Hickle; sister, Nellie Hamilton; brother, Johnny Hickle; and his parents.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GENEVIEVE CLARK
DELAND, Fla. -- Miss Genevieve Clark, 86, died Sunday at her residence.
Born June 26, 1916, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of John W. and Ada M. (Robinson) Clark.
A 1934 graduate of Washington High School, she also graduated from Butler University in 1939 and Cincinnati University School of Nursing in 1942. She served four years as a Major-Chief Nurse in a combat surgical unit in the South Pacific during World War II. She earned a master's degree in nursing administration from the University of Colorado after the war. A retired nursing administrator, she established VA hospitals in San Francisco, Calif., Indianapolis, and Gainesville, Fla. After retiring she worked at Clark Realty in Stone Island, Fla. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Debary, Fla., Deland Bridge Club, Kappa Delta Tau Sorority, and was very active in the Republican Party.
She is survived by nieces, Ann Roberson Smith of Salem, S.C., and Lena Clark Mohon of Glendale; and nephews, John Clark Roberson of English, Jerald Clark of Montgomery, and Roger Dale Clark of Glendale.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at East Union Cemetery, with Bro. Clarence Miller officiating.
Gill Chapel is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation.

KARLA GUTSCH
Karla (Overton) Gutsch, 64, 7 Cottonwood Court, died unexpectedly at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville. She had been ill for two and a half years.
Born July 20, 1939, in Bicknell, she was the daughter of Oliver (Ollie) and Marguerite (Splater) Tharp.
A 1957 graduate of Washington High School, she was very active in St. Mary's Church, where she was a member and a Eucharistic Minister, and member of Legion of Mary. She retired in 2001 from Porter's Custom Cutts. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always took care of everyone. She enjoyed crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Gutsch, whom she married Sept. 5, 1987; mother, Marguerite Tharp; one son, Brian Overton of Helena, Mont.; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Tina) Lewis of Goldsboro, N.C., and Mrs. Joseph (Teresa) Dolan of Rantoul, Ill.; one sister, Kathy Thompson of Odon; and grandchildren, Robert J. Overton III, Krystal Lewis, Justin Lewis, Jakob Lewis, Brayton Overton, Brittany Overton, and Brandon Dolan.
Her first husband, Robert Overton, died Jan. 26, 1985. Her father, Ollie Tharp, and two sons, Mark Overton and Robert Overton Jr. are also deceased.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, with Fr. David Martin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m.
The Legion of Mary will pray a rosary Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church or St. John's Cemetery.

William Canary
William Wilbur Canary, 84, Washington, died at 2:51 p.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born May 26, 1919, in Reeve Township, he was the son of Everett and Ethel (Helphenstine) Canary.
He taught school for 44 years and retired from Francesville schools in 1983. He had served as principal for 27 years.
A member of First Christian Church, he was named Citizen of the Year on Sept. 17, 1988, for outstanding contributions to youth and the community.
From 1942 to 1946, he served in the Army 472nd Field Artillery 11th Airborne division in the Pacific Theatre. Ranked First Sergeant, he was among the first troops to enter Japan at the end of the war.
He was a graduate of Indiana State University with one and a half years of post-graduate work.
He is survived by one daughter Sharon Kay Jones of Washington; granddaughter and her husband Jon and Shannon Haslett of the Dominican Republic; great-grandchildren Christian Haslett, Rachel Haslett and Summer Haslett; three sisters Eldena Quackenbush of Vincennes, Opal Keasling of Loogootee and Crystal Ash of Indianapolis.
He is preceded in death by one son Clifford Canary, who died in 1957; three brothers John, Orville and Luthur Canary and two sisters Lenora Bogard and Celena Kelso.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home with Rev. David Atkins officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion and VFW.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Barr-Reeve High School.
