Lee Northerner

Lee A. Northerner, 39, of Evansville, died Saturday in Las Vegas, of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was the founder of Commercial Carpet Co. which became Floorcovering Emporium Inc., where he was president. He had earned a master-s mechanic certificate for commercial floors.

He was a member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his parents, Billie and Robert Northerner of Evansville; two sisters, Sara Northerner of Logan, Utah, and Nancy Wheeler of Naperville, Ill.; a companion, Tammy Rust of Evansville; and a niece and nephew.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Rev. Daniel R. Schroeder officiating, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew United Church of Christ.

Rebecca Duncan

Rebecca Sue Duncan, 27, of Evansville, died Sunday night at Deaconess Hospital, after an illness. She was a 1990 graduate of Pine Valley High School in Tonawanda, N.Y.

She was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and the Mission Circle.

She had been a team mother for the Evansville Youth Football League.

Surviving are her husband, Michael D.; a daughter, Katelynn Leanne of Evansville; a son, Marcus David of Evansville; a sister, Jennifer Becker of Collinsville, N.Y.; a brother, Steven Prindle of Evansville; grandparents, Betty and Harold Warrick of Florida, Marion and Milton Reed of Tonawanda, N.Y., and Kathleen Prindle of Evansville; a great-grandmother; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Adrian Brooks officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, where a wake service will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Grant Hollis

Grant W. Hollis, 65, of Redlands, Calif, formerly of Evansville, died Saturday at Chancellor Care Center in Redlands.

He was a retired Air Force veteran of 24 years.

He was a 1950 graduate of Bosse High School and a 1955 graduate of University of Evansville. He earned a master-s degree at George Washington University.

Surviving are his wife, Marilynn W.; Constance Meisinger of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; two sons, Grant W. III of Redlands and Bradley S. of Beaumont, Calif.; his stepmother, Venita Patterson of Evansville; three brothers, Roderick of Dallas, Larry of Franklin, Wis., and Gary of Evansville; and five grandchildren.

There will be no formal services.

Emerson-Bartlett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a Hospice program.

James 'Jim' Porter

James R. 'Jim' Porter, 61, of Evansville, died Sunday night at his home of natural causes.

He was a 1958 graduate of Yale University, and earned a master-s degree from the University of Colorado.

He retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1993 and had worked there for 27 years, living in both Syracuse, N.Y. and Evansville.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Martha R. -Marty-; and a daughter, Emily Porter of Evansville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, the Rev. R. Anthony Underwood officiating, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from noon to service time Thursday at the chapel.

Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Deaconess/Ohio Valley Hospice Care.

Glen Chumbley

Glen A. Chumbley, 77, of Evansville, died Monday afternoon at Deaconess Hospital.

He retired in 1985 after 39 years with Metropolitan Evansville Transit System.

He was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 878 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen (Carr); a daughter, Nancy Lee Chumbley of Evansville; a brother, Paul of Owensboro, Ky.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Revs. Ralph Miller and R. Anthony Underwood officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Steve Fluty Sr.

Steve Fluty Sr., 74, formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Albion, Ill. He was a truck driver and a member of the

Teamsters union.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Cheaney of Evansville; four sons, Steve Jr. of New York City, Robin Lee of Evansville and Keith Allen and Kevin Allison, both of Albion; his companion of 10 years, Rosa Isle of Albion; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Nall officiating, with burial in Tupman Cemetery.

Ruby 'Rube' Prow Jr.

Ruby L. 'Rube' Prow Jr., 67, of Evansville, died Tuesday morning at Deaconess Hospital. He owned R & J Carpet Center for 18 years,

and was carpet manager for Fireside Galleries until 1994.

He was a well-known musician in this area, and he played guitar and sang with several bands for many years.

He was a Korean War Navy veteran.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Engleman of Washington, Ind.; two sons, Daniel A. of Mount Vernon and Randal L. of Chicago; two sisters, Helen Wilson of Dalton, Ky., and Ann Coffman of Morganfield, Ky.; a brother, Joe of Dalton; three grandchildren, Amy Prow, and Neil and Max Engleman; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, the Rev. John Shoulta officiating, with burial in Dalton (Ky.) Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Helen Ehrmann

Helen L. Ehrmann, 81, of Evansville, died Tuesday morning at Regina Continuing Care Center. She was a 1934 graduate of Memorial High

School and retired from Bauer Brothers Construction.

She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church.

Surviving are a sister, Dolores Rickard of Evansville; two brothers, Ralph and Paul Ehrmann, both of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Church, Monsignor Kenneth Knapp officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m Thursday at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial High School Alumni Association or to the Visiting Nurse Association.

Ernest Pulcini

Ernest E. Pulcini, 83, of Evansville, formerly of Chicago Heights, Ill., died Tuesday morning at Regina Continuing Care Center. Before

moving to Evansville in 1994, he was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Chicago Heights and St. Mary Catholic Church in Park Forest, Ill.

Surviving are his wife, Faustina; a daughter, Anita Wandishin of St. John, Ind.; a son, Dr. John D. of Evansville; two sisters, Rena Cincione of Chicago Heights and Jackie Bova of Steger, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Mary Lynn Pulcini Szumulis, Melanie, Melissa and John Michael Pulcini, and Michelle Eykamp.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Regina Continuing Care Chapel, the Rev. Stephen Lintzenich officiating.

Friends may call from 2:30 p.m. to service time at the Regina Chapel.

Services will also be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kerr-Parzygnot Chapel in Crete, Ill., with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time and burial in Evergreen Hills Memorial Garden in Crete.
