M. Juanita Allman
PERU -- Services for M. Juanita Allman, 84, 151 County Farm Road, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
She died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Extendacare-Peru Nursing Home.
Born in Onward on Oct. 8, 1914, she was the daughter of O.H. and Mabel Winters Smith. In 1936, she was married to Craig Harding, who died in 1937. In 1941, she was married to Harry C. Allman, who died in 1976.
A former resident of Denver, Mrs. Allman was a homemaker. She was a member of Denver United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher.
She had also been a member of the Miami County 4-H Fair Board, the Denver Town Board, the Study Club of Denver, and had served as president of the Miami County Extension Homemakers Club.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Betzner, Peru; one son, Eric J. Allman, Winamac; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey and James Siegfred, Peru, and Beulah and Cleo Haynes, Avon; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchldren.
One daughter-in-law, Mary All Allman, is deceased.
Chaplain Steve Fleck will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cass County.

Virginia Hendricks O’Connor
HOMEWOOD, Ill. -- Services for Virginia Hendricks O’Connor, 81, of Homewood, formerly of Lafayette and Logansport, will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Tews Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, both in Homewood.
She died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, in St. James Hospice House in Chicago.
Born May 3, 1918, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Peter Thomas and Honora Winifred Kelly Hendricks. She was married to Francis O’Connor, who died in 1971.
Mrs. O’Connor was a retired warehouse manager for JC Penney and was an active member of St. Joseph Church.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Andrew Deniston, Flossmoor, Ill., and Christine and Charles Whalen, New Orleans, La.; and nine grandchildren.
One son, William O’Connor, one daughter, Caroline Hanlon, one brother, Leo Hendricks, and one sister, Betty Lou Hopkins, preceded in death.
Father Richard Kozak will officiate at the Mass. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, 18230 S. Dixie Highway, Homewood.

Connie R. Fansler Schnepp
ARGOS -- Services for Connie R. Fansler Schnepp, 65, of 795 W. 18th St., Rochester, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
She died at 12:54 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center, Kokomo.
Pastor Jill Wright will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Maxinkuckee IOOF Cemetery, formerly known as the Poplar Grove Cemetery, near Culver.

Ronald H. Vincent
PERU -- Services for Ronald H. Vincent, 61, of Route 1, Peru, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
He died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in his residence.
The Rev. Greg Hiatt will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery in Miami County.

Susie Lenora Williams
PERU -- Services for former Peru resident Susie Lenora Williams, 93, of Grace Village HealthCare in Warsaw, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Peru Grace Brethren Church.
She died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, in the healthcare center.
Pastor Ron Bowland and Pastor Dave Jodry will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill.

Hope Springs Schauwecker
DES PLAINES, Ill. -- Memorial services for Hope Springs Schauwecker, 67, of Des Plaines, formerly of Logansport, were held Sept. 14 in Illinois.
She died Saturday, Sept. 11, in Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Hazel Jo Clements Fitz
WINAMAC -- Graveside services for Hazel Jo Clements Fitz, 88, of 515 E. 13th St., Winamac, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Winamac Cemetery.
She died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, in ExtendaCare of Winamac.
Born Sept. 28, 1911, in Winamac, she was the daughter of Ernest Chester and Clara Edith Heater Clements. In May 1949 in Pulaski, she was married to Neil C. Fitz, who died in March 1987.
Mrs. Fitz had lived most of her life in Pulaski County. A retail merchant, she was the former owner of Monarch Liquors in Winamac and retired from the Culver Military Academy Housekeeping Department.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Juanita M. "Dolly" and Mike Milo, Knox; one sister, Mary Haschel, Winamac; three grandsons, Mike E. Milo, Casper, Wyo., and Mark and Joy Milo and Max and Angel Fitz, all of Knox; and six great-grandchildren, Josh Milo, Kip Milo, Alyssa Milo, Destinie Milo, Nathalee Milo and Mathew Milo, all of Knox.
One foster grandson, Steven P. Kring, one brother, Victor Clements, and four sisters, Lyda Bridegroom, Thelma Lebo, Pauline Hall and Estelle Miller, preceded in death.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Raymond A. Stangle
MONTICELLO -- Services for Raymond A. Stangle, 83, of 1120 N. Main St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.
He died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, in Monticello Healthcare Center.
Born Sept. 2, 1916, in White County, he was the son of Albert and Nellie Grace Kistler Stangle. He was first married to Maude Stewart, who preceded in death. On Aug. 4, 1965, he was married to Elizabeth Spurgeon, who died Sept. 10, 1990.
A 1934 graduate of Onward High School near Logansport, Mr. Stangle lived in the Idaville area before moving to Monticello in 1966. He had been a resident of Monticello Healthcare Center for about two years and ill for two weeks.
He farmed most of his life, worked for RCA for 15 years, and was Scoutmaster for Troop 148 in Monticello from 1981 to 1984.
Mr. Stangle was a member of the Lake Cicott United Methodist Church and also was a Lay Speaker.
Surviving are a brother, LeRoy "Bud" Stangle, Monticello; one sister, Calesky Shaw, Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Gilbert R. Ingram will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monticello Handicapped Boy Scouts.

ROCHESTER -- Memorial services for Earl J. Bailey, 85, of Fort Collins, Colo., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in Rochester First Baptist Church.
He died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Colorado.
The Rev. Junior Bose will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Mary F. Baker
Services for Mary F. Baker, 88, formerly of 1516 Usher St., Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in All Saints Catholic Church.
She died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, in her residence in Placentia, Calif.
Born May 4, 1911, in Logansport, she was the daughter of John R. and Alice Kinney Riley. On Jan. 31, 1939, in St. Bridget’s Church in Logansport, she was married to Fred L. Baker, who died Nov. 7, 1997.
Mrs. Baker was a former member of All Saints Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and the Elderberries in Logansport, and belonged to St. Joseph’s Church in Placentia.
She was involved in the family business, the O.K. Store in Logansport, for many years until it closed in 1966. She then went to work for and retired as a buyer for the toy department of David’s Hardware in 1973.
Mrs. Baker moved from Logansport in March 1996 to live with her son and his family in California. She was devoted to her family and loved people; people loved her "Irish wit."
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence J. and Amanda Baker, Placentia, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Richard Corso, Logansport; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mary Jo (Corso) and Richard Kimball, Delphi, Joseph and Meagen Baker, Fullerton, Calif., and Lisa Baker, Placentia, Calif.; one sister, Helen Bott, Maineville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Fathers Donald Gross, Leo Haigerty and Alex Paternoster will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Kroeger Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Mental Health Association and the Home Care Hospice of Placentia, Calif.

Mary Ellen Deane, 81, of Peru, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Peru.

Georgia Davidson, 91, of East Ridge Village Retirement Home, Miami, Fla., died Saturday at Deering Hospital, Miami.

Mildred Sodergren Brennan
WINAMAC -- Services for Mildred Sodergren Brennan, 87, of 624 E. 13th St., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
She died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.
Born June 10, 1912, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., she was the daughter of Gustave A. and Sofia S. Allen Sodergren. On Aug. 14, 1937, she was married in New Rochelle, N.Y., to George F. Brennan, who died April 4, 1999.
A resident of Winamac since 1948, Mrs. Brennan moved here from Connecticut. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers, and was a member and past regent of the Daughters of Isabella.
She was a former member of the Iris-Elm Club and the Women’s Club, as well as a former clerical worker for the Pulaski County Auditor, Pulaski County Treasurer and Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn S. Brennan, Indianapolis, Patricia I. Brennan, Muncie, and Katherine J. Brennan, Noblesville; two sons, George F. "Jeff" Brennan Jr., St. Simons Island, Ga., and Peter R. Brennan, Noblesville; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Roy A. Sodergen, preceded in death.
The Revs. John Hoying and Philip Mahalic will officiate at the services. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Winamac.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday in Frain Mortuary, where a scriptural wake service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday and a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
