FORTVILLE -- Mary Edith Dill, 94, died Oct. 14, 2000, at Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield.
She was a member of the Fortville Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert A. Dill; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home in Fortville, officiated by the Rev. Pat Mooney of the Fortville Christian Church. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.
Visitation hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fortville Christian Church.
Pamela J. Doherty
ELWOOD -- Pamela J. Doherty, 57, died Oct. 14, 2000, at St. John's Health System.
She was born June 12, 1943, in Anderson, and had been a lifelong Madison County resident.
She retired from Guide Lamp following 30 years of service. She attended Peoria Nondenominational Church in Peoria. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663. She loved to draw and was a very talented artist.
Survivors include her niece, Dawn Campbell of Alabama; a great-niece; a great-nephew; cousins Judy Rork of Hollywood, Fla., Janet Smith of Pendleton; Larry Doherty and several other cousins; a sister-in-law, Joyce Doherty of Alabama; and a special friend, Cheri Davies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Doherty and Rebecca (Casaday) Doherty; a brother, the Rev. James Doherty; a special aunt, Ellen "Mom" Zatarain; and other special aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Brian Daniels. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the south chapel.
Walter C. Hall
Walter Clayton Hall, 82, Anderson, died Oct. 12, 2000, at Community Hospital, Anderson, following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Anderson, and had lived here his entire life.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
In 1980 he retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (husband, Richard) Hunt of Anderson and Teresa (husband, Clarence) Harris of Glendale, Ariz.; sister, Mable Warren of Moonsville; grandchildren, Leona J. (husband, Daniel) Anderson of Freetown, Debbie S. Campbell of Chicago, Rod (wife, Becky) Richwine of Alexandria, Todd (wife, April) Richwine of Indianapolis, Richard Hunt Jr. and Shawn J. Hunt, both of Anderson, Clarence Harris Jr., Brian Harris, Rachel Harris, Chrystal Harris and Michael Harris, all of Glendale, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Paul David Moto of Florida, Katherine Jo Moto of Mississippi, Kendra Campbell, Jeremy Campbell and David Campbell, all of Chicago, Ross Richwine, Devin Richwine and Ryan Richwine, all of Alexandria, Zachary Richwine and Linsey Richwine, both of Indianapolis, Jeffery Brian Harris, Jordan Harris, Daniel Harris, Domnic Harris, Shaniqua Harris, Lyerell Harris, Christopher Borussard and Shamar Harris, all of Glendale, Ariz.; four great-great-grandchildren, Corynn Jo-Alis Fortner, Cody Jedia Fortner, and Elizabeth Claire Reed, all of Mississippi, and Tyler Duncan of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Whillheite) Hall, June 22, 1998; a stepson, Howard Gene Richwine; a brother, Carl Flath; and a sister, Markie Trueblood.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Jack Warren. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
Dorothy M. Hammond
PERKINSVILLE -- Dorothy Marie Hammond, 68, died Oct. 14, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 31, 1932, in Gary, the daughter of Ralph and Beulah Marie (Fraasa) Cunningham.
She had been an employee of CVS in Lapel and the former Lapel Drug Store. She was a member of Perkinsville Community Church.
Survivors include four children, Glynn (Kathy Ritter) Hammond of Anderson, Ralph (wife, Jeanie) Hammond of Panama City, Fla., William (wife, Mary) Hammond of Perkinsville and Cathy McIntyre of Fort Wayne; a brother, Richard (wife, Earleen) Cunningham of Perkinsville; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parvin Hammond in 1996; and her parents, Ralph Cunningham and Beulah Marie (Fraasa) Cunningham.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, officiated by the Rev. Mark Aleshire. Burial will be in Perkinsville Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gerald L. Hankins
NOBLESVILLE -- Gerald L. "Hank" Hankins, 62, died Oct. 15, 2000, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Rushville, the son of Orville Lewis Hankins and Eletha E. (Lawson) Hankins.
He was a graduate of Lapel High School, Class of 1957. In 1997, he retired from Ford Motor Co. in Indianapolis after 39 years of employment. He was a member of the Lapel Eagles; the Indiana Gun Club and was an avid bowler and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Taylor) Hankins; two daughters, Julie (husband, Chris) Husted of Fishersburg and Carol (husband, John) Smith of Anderson; a sister, Emogene Dilg of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Dustin Husted, Cody Husted, Lindsay Smith and Brittney Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Lewis Hankins and Eletha E. (Lawson) Hankins.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, officiated by the Rev. Neal Brown. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

E. Joan Levy
E. Joan Levy, 78, of Anderson, died Oct. 15, 2000, at her residence. Arrangements are pending at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Harry J. Patton
Harry J. Patton, 71, of Anderson, died Oct. 14, 2000, at St. John's Health System following an extended illness.
He worked as a policeman for the Hoover Dam Police Department before retiring.
Survivors include is wife, Corinne (Lunsford) Patton; a brother, William LaBelle; four sisters-in-law, Wilma Lunsford, Midge Ball, Louise Santana and Betty Lunsford; two brothers-in-law, Eugene "Buddy" (wife, Wanda) Lunsford and Charles R. (wife, Sharon) Lunsford; his mother-in-law, Helen Goddard; and several other relatives.
There will be no services nor visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory.
William R. Rodgers
ELWOOD -- William "Doc" Ralph Rodgers, 86, died Oct. 14, 2000, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.
He retired from Textron in Elwood. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Summers; two sons, Williams R. Rodgers Jr. and Robert E. Rodgers; three stepchildren, David Craig Hartley, Marvin Lee Hartley and Phyllis Arlene Myers; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Copher & Fesler Funeral Home in Elwood, officiated by the Rev. Roger Jackson of the First Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Phillip G. Stohler
Phillip G. Stohler, 63, of Anderson, died Oct. 13, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born June 13, 1937, in Anderson and had lived here most of his life.
He was a graduate of Markleville High School and of Purdue University ,where he earned an Electrical Engineering degree.
In 1987, he retired from Western Electric (AT&T) after 28 years of employment.
He was a U.S. Army veteran; a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church; and member of Ovid Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Mindy (husband, Steve) Mahoney of Pleasanton, Calif.; a son, Bryan (wife, Kim) Stohler of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Justin Mahoney, Megan Stohler, Taylor Stohler and Brendan Stohler; four sisters, Dellarose Gustin, Grace (husband, Harold) Markle and Faith (husband, Jim) Burmeister all of Anderson and Paula (husband, Dr. Daniel) Nugent of Sunman; a brother, David H. (wife, Judy) Stohler of Bluffton; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special aunt & uncle, Lorene and Fred Swearingen of Anderson. Also surviving is a special friend, Chris Everman of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Stohler and Audrey Stohler Gooding.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 East 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Gerald M. Burnett of the Markleville North Christian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ovid, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 266 and the American Legion Honor Guard Post 408.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Adams Township Fire & Ambulance Department or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Benjamin Underwood
FAIRMOUNT -- Benjamin "Ben" Gordon Underwood, 64, died Oct. 14, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Marion, the son of Russell C. and Alma (Pattison) Underwood. He lived in Fairmount his entire life.
He was a graduate of Fairmount High School and served four years with the U.S. Air Force. On March 29, 1961, he married Doris Coffel.
In 1993, he retired from RCA (Thompson Consumer Electrics) after 38 years of service as a welder.
He was a member of American Legion Post 313 in Fairmount. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, camping, traveling and hunting. He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Doris of Fairmount; three daughters, Rhonda Underwood and Denise (husband, Dan) Titus all of Knightstown, and Tina (husband, Toby) Gilman of Summitville; his brother, Jerry (wife, Gloria) Underwood of Fairmount; his sister, June (husband, Charles) Mitchner of Fairmount; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Danielle and Cody Underwood, Travis and Walker Titus, and Wade and Matthew Gilman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Phillip C. Underwood; and a sister, Wanda Jean Underwood.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, officiated by Pastor Joseph Stark.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the Wednesday service at the funeral home.

Patsy A. Lovell
MUNCIE -- Patsy A. (Cook) Lovell, 60, formerly of Anderson and Pendleton, died April 7, 2001, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born Jan. 17, 1941, in New Castle and resided most of her life in the Anderson area.
She was a graduate of Selma High School, Class of 1959.
In 1991, she retired as corrections officer at the Indiana State Reformatory in Pendleton after 20 years of employment.
Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (husband, Frenchie) Hebert of Fort Myers, Fla., Jani L. (husband, Eddie) Chapman of Morehead, Ky., Robin K. (husband, Mike) Davis of Muncie and Jodi L. (husband, Randy) Perkins of Pendleton; her sister, Patty Hall of New Castle; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Myrtle Davis; her husband, John F. Lovell; a daughter, Stella Lovell; a son-in-law, David Wall Sr.; and a grandson, Brian Wenrich.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Bright Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, officiated by the Rev. Claude Creel. Burial will be in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Chapel.

Larry B. Highbaugh
INDIANAPOLIS -- Larry Bryant "Papa H" Highbaugh, 67, died April 7, 2001, in Danville.
He was a graduate of Ball State University, Class of 1955. He was a teacher at Ball State University; the University of Indianapolis; for the Army at Grissom AFB; at Logansport High School; Ben Davis High School and Brebeuf High School.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann (Rinehart) Highbaugh; children, Nancy A. DeMougin, Paula J. Gaddis, Gregory D. Highbaugh and Heidi K. VanDuzer; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Floral Park West Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. today at Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary, Speedway Chapel, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church or to the Diabetes Association through the funeral home.

Bernice L. Hopper
ALEXANDRIA -- Bernice L. Hopper, 85, died April 7, 2001, at a private residence in Alexandria following an extended illness.
She was born June 8, 1915, in Summitville, the daughter of Perry and Mary Elona (Weaver) Clark and lived in Alexandria since 1936.
She was a graduate of Summitville High School, Class of 1933.
In 1979, she retired from her position as manager of the Alexandria-Monroe High School Cafeteria after 20 years of employment. She had also been an employee of the former Haynes Stellite Company when it was located in Alexandria.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alexandria and a 50-year member of the Alexandria Chapter 179 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Larry D. (wife, Nelda) Hopper of Bradenton, Fla., and Michael D. (wife, Peggy) Hopper of Elwood; her sister, Helen Alexander of Alexandria; her brother, Fawnie Clark of Arcadia; two granddaughters, Vanessa (husband, William) Tucker of New Castle and Sheryll (husband, Jimmy) Crawford of Tipton; a grandson, Karl "Monty" Hopper of Alexandria; a stepgranddaughter, Summer Cox of Elwood; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Hopper in 1974; and her parents, Perry and Mary Elona (Weaver) Clark.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Noffze Funeral Home, Alexandria Chapel, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, officiated by the Rev. Clifton Richardson of First Baptist Church, Alexandria. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria.
Visitation hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home's Alexandria Chapel and will include a 5 p.m. memorial service conducted by the Alexandria Order of the Eastern Star 179.
