MIDDLETOWN -- Virgil "Bud" Fattic, 85, died Feb. 7, 2003, at St. John's Medical Center in Anderson after a brief illness.
He was born April 6, 1917, in Middletown, the son of Anderson and Louvella (Scothorn) Fattic, where he was a lifelong resident.
He worked for more than 32 years as a utility man at Delco Remy in Anderson.
He was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene; UAW Local 662; and the Middletown Conservation Club.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Byrer Fattic of Middletown; two sons, Jim (wife, Rexanne) Fattic of Middletown and Bill (wife, Rosalee) Fattic of Shelbyville; a daughter, Kathie (husband, David) Nichols of Middletown; two stepsons, Russ Byrer of Middletown and Jim Byrer of Phoenix, Ariz.; his twin sister, Virginia Milhaupt of New Port Richey, Fla.; his brother, Leonard Fattic of Middletown; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willard Fattic and Everett Fattic; and a sister, Letha Fattic.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, officiated by the Revs. Kenneth Foust and Marty Ballard. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Church of the Nazarene's Building Fund.
Mildred C. Bennett
MIDDLETOWN -- Mildred C. Bennett, 88, Middletown, died Feb. 5, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Fairfield, Ohio, the daughter of Grandville and Susie Clark, and lived in Anderson for many years before moving to Middletown. She was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star 154 of Anderson.
She retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 42 years of employment. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662.
Survivors include a nephew, Donald Bergstrom (Shirley) of Chesterfield and their children, David and Darlene; two nieces, Bettisue Leach of Magnolia, Ohio, and Marilou Smith of Ohio.
Also surviving are good friends, Mary Robinson, Alvin King, Martha and John Ellison, many church friends and her caregivers, Joyce Blake, Ola McNeal, Gretchen Stolher and Betty Coby.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Wilford "Bill" S. Bennett, Thomas C. Ehle and Warren Poffenbarger; a brother, Henry "Curley" Clark; a sister, Mary Lawrence; and a niece, Grace Sue Morse.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., with the Rev. Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edna A. Coburn
Edna Alma Coburn, 95, Anderson, died Feb. 5, 2003, at Community Northview.
She was born Jan. 24, 1908, in Chesterfield, the daughter of Omer and Vinnie Clifford Gwinn. She lived in Anderson most of her life. She and her late husband, Amos, operated a family owned grocery at the corner of 25th and Main streets for 50 years. She had been a member of the White River Reformed Presbyterian Church.
She loved to travel and enjoyed feeding the cats in the neighborhood. She was part of the white hairs group that ate at MCL.
Survivors include a son, David William Coburn of Anderson; granddaughters, Kerry Coburn of Anderson and Kelly Coburn of Seymour; daughter-in-law, Christa Coburn of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also surviving are special friends, Sally Gross and Donna Bangle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos W. Coburn; parents, Omer and Vinnie Gwinn; brother, Paul Gwinn; and sister, Mable Henderson.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Guilkey Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard True officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Public Library or the American Cancer Society.
Stephen T. Fadely
EULESS, Texas -- Stephen Thomas Fadely, 35, of Euless, died Feb 5, 2003.
A loving husband, best friend and wonderful father, he was so excited about the upcoming birth of his first daughter in April. He died of a rare autoimmune disease, giant cell miocardosis.
He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School in Alexandria, a 1990 graduate of Indiana State University and a member of Sigma Nu. He worked as a manager for Sam's Club throughout Indiana. His love for airplanes brought him to American Airlines in Dallas for five years. He took a short detour to Allegiance Telecom (Dallas) for two years before redirecting his flight pattern back on course to Southwest Airlines. Even though he was only with Southwest Airlines for five months, it was his dream job and dream employer. It took him seven years to get there, but it was his ultimate goal and he succeeded.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Fadely; a son, William Fadely of Euless; parents, Bob and Mary Lou Fadely of Alexandria; grandmother, Louise Lamb of Lafayette; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Albert and Lori Schaufelberger of Irving, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Donnelly's Colonial Chapel, Irving, Texas, with the Rev. George Monaghan officiating. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials to Make a Wish Foundation or the Asthma and Allergy Foundation.
Max L. Hoke
Max L. Hoke, 81, Anderson, died Feb. 6, 2003, at Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born July 28, 1921, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He retired from Delco Remy in 1975 after 35 years of employment, working in skilled trades. He also worked at McClain Car Leasing in Anderson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served 39 months during 1942-46. He was stationed in Puerto Rico, the Philippines and Japan
He was a 50-year member of East Lynn Christian Church in Anderson and Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Berry) Hoke, whom he married Dec. 31, 1941; two daughters, Sandy (husband, Alan) Ayers of Fort Wayne and Holly (husband, David) Renz of Anderson; grandchildren, David (wife, Sharon) Ayers of Brownsburg, Amanda (husband, Robert) Bedwell and Ross (wife, Holly) Ayers, all of Fort Wayne, and Nathan Renz of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Blake and Daniel Ayers, Anne Bedwell, Noah and Emily Ayers; several nieces and cousins; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bertie (Kelley) Hoke.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Susan M. Cameron of East Lynn Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the South Chapel.

Shirley A. Lane
Shirley A. Lane, 58, Anderson, died Feb, 5, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born March 31, 1944, in Mount Rose, Colorado, and lived in California before moving to Anderson 20 years ago.
She was the owner of Shirley's Pet Grooming for 20 years and was thought of as the best pet groomer in Anderson. She loved her dogs and her customers at her store. She was a member of the International Professional Pet Groomers Association.
She was very kind, thoughtful, patient, understanding and sweet. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her three children, Christine Conatser of Sewell, NJ, Tamara (husband, Carroll D.) Conatser-Martin of Pensacola, Fla., and Ronald Conatser; sister, Betty Jane Lane of California; brother, Delbert Lee Lane Jr. of Winamear, Texas; and four grandchildren, Joshua J. Conatser, David John Lankford, Jenifer Ann Corn and Christofer David Corn.
Also surviving are special friends, Dwayne Kirts and Dianne Smith; and her dogs, Cherry Cola, Mickey D. and Lady Bug.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Lee Lane Sr. and Betty Lou (Meeks) Lane.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Noralee N. Mason
HUNTINGTON -- Noralee N. Mason, 79, Huntington, died Feb. 5, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor. She was a former Frankton resident.
She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Elwood, and was a graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and Fort Wayne International Business College. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662, Order of Eastern Star, Lafemmes Cabane 510, Frankton American Legion Auxiliary and Aroma United Methodist Church.
She retired in 1974 from Delco Remy after 33 years of employment.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Mason of Huntington and John Mason of Kosciusko County; sister, Jenester Humel of Elwood; sister-in-law, Janet P. Mason of Anderson; six grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas "Jerry" Mason; her parents, Raymond and Alice (Barnhill) Noland; a son, Raymond Mason; two sisters, Rebecca Kimball and Elizabeth Boyce; and a grandson, Jerome A. Mason.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton. Burial will be in Aroma Cemetery in Aroma.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ethel M. McCartt
SPRING, Texas -- Ethel M. McCartt, 85, resident of Spring, Texas, died Feb. 6, 2003, in Houston while living with her daughter. She had lived in Chesterfield before moving to Texas in 2001.
She was born June 28, 1917, in Stearns, Ky., the daughter of William and Truie Hays Stephens. She had been a homemaker most of her life and attended the Cy-Fair Christian Church in Houston.
Survivors include her daughter, June (Eugene) Black of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Batina Cooke of Naples, Fla., Dr. Brad Black of Houston, Texas, Byron Black of Bonita Springs, Fla., Darren Fellers of Nogales, Ariz., and Julie York of New Castle; eight great-grandchildren, Jostin Cooke, Alex Black, Zachary Black, Blake York, Amy Fellers, Melanie Joe Fellers, Joshua Black and Rebekah Black; and three sisters, Velva Pierce of New Castle, Wilma of Florida, and Arlene Goldey of Hagerstown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. McCartt; and brothers, Harrold, Orville "Riley," Esthel and Landon.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, with Dr. Brad Black officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, east of Middletown.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Irene Sizelove
ALEXANDRIA -- Irene Sizelove, 93, Alexandria, died Feb. 6, 2003, at Westside Retirement Village in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 21, 1909, in Frankton, the daughter of Leroy Edward and Lusetti Cole Brown, and lived in Alexandria since 1927. She had worked for the Aladdin Industries and Haynes-Stellite, both formerly of Alexandria. She also worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson.
For more than 30 years, she had been caretaker of the Home Economics Building during 4-H Fair week at Beulah Park in Alexandria.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Joni (Mike) Beaty of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two grandsons, Joe (Sherry) Sizelove of Avon and Jeff (Janet) Sizelove of Indianapolis; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Beaty, Suzanne Sizelove and Jennifer Sizelove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loren "Stick" Sizelove in 1969; son, "Bus" Sizelove in 1984; daughter-in-law, Barbara Sizelove in 1991; brothers, Alvin Brown and Howard Brown; and sisters, Agnes Brown and Helen Penn.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Park View Cemetery, 1101 S. Park Ave., Alexandria, with the Rev. Jerry Young, pastor of Christian Congregation Church of Alexandria, officiating.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria.
Alberta D. Aldridge
ELWOOD -- Alberta D. "Bertie" Aldridge, 71, Elwood, died Feb. 6, 2003, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
She was retired from J. Lewis Small.
Survivors include two sons, Brian (wife, Kim) Aldridge and Rick Aldridge; sister, Kate (husband, Richard) Coston; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Aldridge.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dunnichay Funeral Home with the Rev. Wally Champion officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
