DRL. ROBERT KIRBY ALLEN, 83, Indianapolis, died July 31, 2004.
Dr. Allen was a Physician of Internal Medicine from 1949-1972, was Medical Director at Chrysler from 1972-1980 and Medical Director at Allisons. Dr. Allen was a Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, a graduate of DePauw University in 1942, Phi Kappa Psi, I.U. School of Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha (Medical Honorary at I.U.); Navy Reserve (Medical Corps) 1947; Lilly Fellowship in gastroenterology; American Medical Association; Marion County Medical Association.
A Memorial Service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday, August 5, 2004, at 10 a.m. Family and friends may gather after the service in the church’s parlor.
His wife Rose Raines Allen preceded him in death. Survivors include his children Rick Allen, Judy (husband Doug) Kniptash and bonnie Allen Huff; grandchildren Dr. Kristyn Sawrey (husband Marcus) Richardson, Kate Sawrey, Jason Sawrey, Jenny Kniptash (husband Steve) Schilt, Jeff Kniptash and Kevin Kniptash; and great-grandchild Simon Richardson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin United Methodist Home or the charity of donor’s choice.
Roger W. Hennie

ROGER W. HENNIE, 67, Carmel, died July 31, 2004.
He was a 1959 graduate of Ohio University. Roger worked for Allstate for 34 years, retiring as Regional Sales Manager in 1993.
He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Hennie; sons Michael F. (Julie) and David A. Hennie; grandson Kyle F. Hennie; and brother Dale (Patricia) Hennie.
Services will be Thursday, August 5 at 12 noon at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Good Shepherd Chapel, with calling held there from 10 a.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Garnet Nachtigall

GARNET “PAT” NACHTIGALL went to be with the Lord August 1, 2004, at her home in Mooresville.
Viewing will be Wednesday, August 4, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Decatur Township and Thursday, August 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southwest Church of the Nazarene, where the service will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Garnet, who was better known as “Pat” was born to Fred and Clydis (Wright) Opell in Loogootee, IN, on August 16, 1909. Her youth was spent in Bloomington and Loogootee. She graduated fro Loogootee High School in 129. She worked for Reliance Manufacturing Co. in Loogootee and Indiana Limestone Co. in Bloomington. On August 30, 1930, Pat married George Von Baker and moved to Lowell, Massachusetts. George and Pat had a son David Von Baker who resides in Greenwood.
On November 3, 1940, Pat married James H. Mobley and moved to Indianapolis in 1945. Jimmy and Pat had a daughter Melynda Mobley Boger, who resides in Mooresville. Jimmy preceded Pat in death on January 25, 1963.
On January 10, 1971, Pat married Isaac Nachtigall, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1995. Pat has a stepson Don Nachtigall who resides in Mishawaka.
Pat enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, making doll clothes, playing the piano and church work. She was an active member of the Church of God Anderson, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked each summer for many years at the Yellow Creek Church of God Camp. She was an active leader in “Blue Birds” at School 58 in Indianapolis for 3 years.
After Pat married Isaac, she joined the Church of the Nazarene. She was actively involved in the Senior Citizens group at the First Church of the Nazarene for many years and also attended the Westside Church of the Nazarene and Mooresville Church of the Nazarene. At the time of her death she was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene and was an active member of the church’s Prayer Team. Pat spent many years of her life mentoring to other women. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son David Von Baker; daughter Melynda Mobley Boger; stepson Donald Nachtigall; grandchildren Jeanne Ruddick, Ralph David Leita-Master Chief, USN, Christopher D. Baker, Gretchen Loyola; great-grandchildren Crystal, Richard, Kaitlyn Ruddick, Zoe Elise Baker; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Earl Maggio

A. EARL MAGGIO, JR., 73, Indianapolis, passed away August 1, 2004.
He worked as a salesman for SKFMRC Barrings/Marlan Rockwell, retiring after 30 years of service. He served in the National Guard until November 2, 1953.
He was married to Joyce J. (Joslyn) Maggio and she preceded him in death in 1994. He was also preceded in death by sons Brett and Brian Maggio and a brother Albert Maggio. Survivors include daughters Becky Ridder of Indianapolis, Brenda Maggio of Cincinnati, OH, Beth Alexander of Hamilton, OH; a sister Carolyn Carlson of Jamestown, NY; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in Indianapolis at a later date. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 6, with calling from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lind Funeral Home, Jamestown, NY. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walter Hoving Home, Garrison, NY, or to donor’s favorite charity.
Local arrangements are entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Lawrence.
William Allen Hardin

WILLIAM ALLEN HARDIN, 46, Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Zionsville, died August 1, 2004.
Allen was born December 8, 1957, in Lebanon, IN, to William P. and Patricia A. Hardin. His parents survive along with his son Joseph W. Hardin, brothers Michael D. Hardin and his wife Laura, Garry H. Hardin, Gregory J. Hardin, 3 nephews, 1 niece and loving companion Judy Lupole.
Mr. Hardin was a 1976 graduate of Zionsville High School. Allen joined the Navy in 1977 having had an honorable and dedicated career spanning 18 years, retiring in 1995 as a Senior Chief Gunner’s Mate. His service in the Nave included active duty in Desert Storm in 1991. For the past 6-˝ years, he was serving as a Field service Technician for Anteon Corporation in Chesapeake, Virginia. Allen was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Whitestown, life member of VFW Post 392 in Virginia Beach and the Military Order of the Cootie PT9 in Virginia Beach.
A service celebrating his life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2004, at New Hope Christian Church, 5780 S. 650E, Whitestown, Indiana, Rev. David Bourne officiating, with visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, at the church. Burial with full military rites will be at Zionsville Cemetery following the service.

BETTY RADER REKLAU, 81, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004.
She was a 1940 graduate of New Palestine High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She attended Indiana Business College from 1940 to 1941 in advance secretarial school. She was a homemaker for 50 years. She worked for the Tuberculosis Association from 1941 to 1943 and 1943 to 1945 at International Harvester Company. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include children David L. Reklau of Greensboro, NC, Nancy R. Wilson and Gary W. Reklau; sister Jean Somes; 9 grandchildren.
Service: Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, 12:30 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East, with calling Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m. Burial: Washington Park East Cemetery.

BETTY L. COYLE, 77, McCordsville, IN, died peacefully at her home on August 3, 2004.
She was born in Milan, IN, on March 6, 1927, to Jethro and Edna Borders, both of whom preceded her in death. Betty worked at Western Electric for 31 years, lastly as an inspector, before retiring in 1981. She loved working crossword puzzles.
She was a loving wife for 31 years to James A. Coyle; mother to Steven Dicus; sister to Elinor Bielanowski, Janice Nolan, Joan Humphrey, Walter Borders and Edgar Tye. Other survivors include her stepchildren Connie Taylor and Dan and Monte Coyle; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East with calling on Thursday, August 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral center. Entombment: Washington Park East Cemetery.

He was born in Tompkinsville, KY, on August 30, 1953. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Martha L. (Jones) Abner; stepdaughters Melissa A. McCreary, Jennifer R. Pancake, and Heather M. Watson; brothers Billy, Harry and Stanley Abner; sisters Shirley Walden and Sarah Smith; 5 step grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 6, at Legacy Funeral Alternatives at Memorial Park with calling on Thursday, August 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery.

THELMA “TJ” JEAN SPECKNER ANASTOFF, a loving and giving wife, 70, Carmel, IN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2004.
She was born December 17, 1933, in Seymour, IN, to Francis Speckner and Annabell (Forway) Speckner. She married Christ Anastoff July 18, 1953, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, IN. She and her husband moved to the Carmel area and have lived there the past 27 years.
Thelma was a charitable and loving person who enjoyed helping other people and making them smile. She liked painting, art and expression through writing. Genealogy and family history were very important to her. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Thelma’s memory will be cherished by her husband of 51 years Christ Anastoff; daughter Cynthia Jean Slavey and husband Jerry; sons Chris Steven Anastoff and wife Roberta and Charles Francis Anastoff; grandsons Aaron Joseph Slavey and David Andrew Slavey; six step-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dorothy Dean (Speckner) Butz.
Visitation will be held in Carmel, IN, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Carmel Thursday, August 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at Voss Chapel in Seymour, IN, on Friday, August 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 7 with visitation one hour prior to the mass. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, IN.

MARGARET “PEGGY” ROWAN GRIMES, 77, Indianapolis, died August 3, 2004.
Peggy was an elementary teacher for Washington Township Schools from 1962 to 1988. She taught at White River School for 20 years, John Strange School for one year and Allisonville School for five years. She was a member, a former deacon and a 40 years choir member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She was a DePauw and Ball State University graduate and a member of the Sunnyside Guild and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 9, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Broad Ripple. Burial will be private at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Peggy is survived by her husband Herbert E. Grimes; daughter Marilyn Grimes Harmacek; sons Kent Rowan and Bruce Sheldon Grimes; grandchildren Bryan, Drew, Eric, Megan Grimes, Laura and Grant Harmacek; brother Robert H. Rowan, Jr.
