Lucille (Smith) Bulpitt, 85, Anderson, died Jan. 7, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born July 3, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas, and resided in Anderson since 1960. Lucille was a homemaker.
She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Donna and husband Kenneth Pettigrew of Anderson, and James C. Reed of Anderson; four grandchildren, Kent and wife Loray Pettigrew of Rose Hill, N.C., Scott Pettigrew of Anderson, Christine and husband Keith Kudlac of Roswell, Ga., and Lisa and husband Jim Ratzlaff of Lapel; great-grandkids, Gary and wife Ana Maria McCray of Elwood, Sierra Ratzlaff of Lapel, Ried Ratzlaff of Lapel, Lily Ratzlaff of Lapel, Kate Kudlac and Craig Kudlac of Georgia, Leigh Ann Petigrew, Nate Pettigrew, Caleb Pettigrew and Kent Leroy Pettigrew, all of North Carolina; great-great-grandson, Kayden McCray of Elwood; and special friends, Dave and Jan Knotts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Lowell Roy Bulpitt; and a great-granddaughter, Casey Pettigrew.
Services will be private with burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel.
Oliver B. Brewer
Nov. 24, 1924 - Jan. 7, 2007
Oliver B. “Brack” Brewer, 82, Anderson, died Jan. 7, 2007, at Community Northview, Anderson, after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Sneedville, Tenn., and lived in Anderson since 1947. Brack retired from the diecast department of Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1983.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a faithful attendee of Landmark Baptist Church. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 662.
He is survived by his wife, Allie (Ratliff) Brewer, whom he married Oct. 16, 1948; son, Scott Brewer; granddaughter, Christy (Michael) Hitch; grandson, Kevin Brewer; great-granddaughters, Allison and Morgan Hitch, all of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sisters, Margaret Brewer of Anderson, Ruth (Kenneth) Saunders of Anderson, and Darcos Green of Knoxville, Tenn.; special friends, Max and Frida Ward; special family member, Valerie Brewer, the mother of his granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Carrie (Moore) Brewer; and siblings, Ambrose Brewer, Little Brewer, Rollie Brewer, Frank Brewer, Helen Royston, Oma Lamb, Daisy Brewer and Kitty Royston.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. Archie Ratliff and Pastor Gary Woodring officiating. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery, Chesterfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Baptist Church.
Larry L. Ballard
Feb. 11, 1950 - Jan. 7, 2006
PENDLETON - Larry Lamoine Ballard, 55, Pendleton, died January 7, 2006 at Community Hospital, Anderson, after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Madison County resident, living in Pendleton since 1987.
He was employed at Hare Chevrolet in Noblesville and had worked at various auto body shops throughout his career.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He attended Whetstone United Church of Christ. He was a member of Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He loved to fish, hunt and target shoot.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Hunter) Ballard of Pendleton, whom he married Jan. 9, 1981; parents, Carl and Betty (White) Ballard of Anderson; children, Rodney (Jami) Ballard of Pendleton, Christina Morris of Oak Park, Ill., Todd (Victoria) Ballard of Indianapolis, and Melissa (Adam) Hawkins of Ingalls; sisters, Linda (Larry) Gregory and Shanna Featherston, all of Anderson; mother-in-law, Esta Mae Hunter of Sheridan; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Ballard and Brian Ballard, both of Pendleton, and Jonah Ballard, Andrew Ballard and Zion Ballard, all of Indianapolis.
A special thank you to the extended care staff of Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Ballard; grandparents, Carl and Martha White and Samuel and Lena Ballard; and father-in-law, Charles F. Hunter.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Whetstone United Church of Christ with Pastor Stephen Gettinger officiating. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the David Grile Memorial Building, located behind Whetstone United Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to Whetstone United Church of Christ or to the donor's favorite charity.

Susan E. (Shepherd) Schell, 52, Anderson, died Jan. 11, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 8, 1953, in Anderson, and lived in Anderson most of her life. She was a legal secretary for Charles Braddock for 25 years.
She graduated from Anderson High School and Indiana Business College. She was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church and Legal Secretaries Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca and husband Simon Corn of Brownsburg; son, William G. and wife Patsy Schell of Carmel; sisters, Teresa and husband Jack Franklin of New Castle, and Ruth and husband Dr. Jeff Mathison of Anderson; brother, Michael and wife Gretchen Shepherd of Fortville; father, George Shepherd; mother, Mary Ellen (Edmonson) Shepherd; father-in-law, William M. Schell; grandmother, Treva Boze; sisters-in-law, Vickie and husband Warren Elrod, Nancy and husband Robert Preusz, Sue and husband Vic Collins and Beth and husband Kirk Hornocker; brother-in-law, Steven Schell; grandson, Tristan Corn; a granddaughter due in April, Clorice Corn; aunts, Linda Mitchell, Marilyn and husband Don Weisbach, Lois and husband Mac Killion and Doris and husband Charles Bouse; uncles, Gene and wife Connie Shepherd, Jerry and wife Pat Shepherd, and James and wife Joanie Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married in 1973, William K. Schell on Oct. 24, 2002; and mother-in-law, V.V. Schell.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. Daryl Hamlyn officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the South Chapel.

ELWOOD - Glen F. Waymire, 70, former Orestes/Alexandria resident, died Jan. 13, 2006, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, following an extended illness.
He was a self-employed building contractor.
Survivors include his daughter Marcie Waymire and her fiancé, Pete Young; sons, Glenn A. Waymire, Scott and wife Debbie Waymire and Barry and wife Michelle Tharp; sister, Sondra Hoskins; brother, Jack W. and wife Elaine Waymire and William J. and wife Zona Waymire; eight grandchildren; three nieces, two nephews, 11 great-nieces and many friends.
Services 2 p.m. Tuesday at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, officiated by the Rev. Courtley Granger and Pastor Matthew Miller. Burial at Forrestville, Cemetery, Summitville.
Visitation two hours prior to the Tuesday service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made, through the funeral home, to assist the family.

CHESTERFIELD - Arthur Meadows Dowell, 90, died Jan. 13, 2006, at St. John’s Health System in Anderson, after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Russell Springs, Ky., and had resided in this area since 1942.
He retired from Guide Corp. Div. of General Motors, after 34 years of employment.
He loved gardening, tinkering with old cars, watching sports and attending auctions.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon and husband Rusty, McCarroll, Kay and husband Jeff, Coffel, Brenda Burkett and Gene Reynolds; 13 grandchildren, Michael Todd Swinford, Patrick and wife Jeanette Swinford, Nicole and husband Clint Bledsoe, David Coffel, Ryan Coffel and Heather, Angie and husband Josh Wilson, Christopher and wife Julie Simons, Amy and husband Greg Long, Eric Simons, Kelly, Karen, Kristen and Lance and wife Loraine Washburn; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby A. (McQueary) Dowell, whom he married Jan. 1, 1938, and who passed away in 2002; a son, David Dowell, who died in 1975; his parents, Abraham Lincoln and Lula (Miller) Dowell; and 12 siblings, Mary, Charlie, Nora, Eva Rae, Woodrow, Cordell, Lizzie, twins, Kenneth and Kathleen, Walter, Tom and Betty.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the South Chapel.

Daniel W. Orbaugh

Daniel Warren Orbaugh, 92, of Anderson, died Jan. 12, 2006, at Community Hospital Anderson, following an extended illness.
He was born May 25, 1913, in Hamilton County, Ind.
He was a graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1931.
For 40 years, he was employed as a supervisor for Geeral Motors in Anderson. In 1973, he retired to the Sarasota/Bradenton, Fla., area and, in 2004, moved back to Anderson.
He was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church in Bakers Corner. His favorite activities were golf and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Ronald Orbaugh of Chicago, Ill., and Monte and wife Sue Baker, Gloria and husband Dennis Tittle and Sherry and husband Wayne VanHook, all of Anderson; sister, Greta Kilgore of Anderson; sister-in-law, Ruth Orbaugh of Lake Placid, Fla. nieces and nephews, Larry and wife Linda Kilgore of Anderson, Karen and husbaned Conrad Uitts of Kokomo, Jeff and wife Ramona Orbaugh of Goldsmith and Vera Hosier of Alexandria; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Community Hospital Anderson for all their care and support and also to Crown Point staff for the care given their loved one during the past two years.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Elwood and Sarah Ethel (Taylor) Orbaugh; and brother, Reed Orbaugh.
A memorial service will conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Steve Holdzkom. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation two hours prior to the Thursday memorial service at the South Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Edna M. Drake

VALLONIA - Edna M. Hyland Drake, 85, of Vallonia and formerly of Anderson, died Jan. 24, 2007, at Scenic Hills Healthcare in Ferdinand.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Orson Robert Drake; children, Elizabeth Ann (Myron) Hyland Randolph, Michael James (Sharon) Hyland, and Richard Lewis (Tammy) Hyland; stepchildren, Robert (Sandra) Drake, Gary (Jan) Drake, Richard (Mary) Drake and Mark Drake; brother, Ralph McCord; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Richard Hyland.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Memorial Park with Rev. John Young officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia.

Cecil Graves, 88, Anderson, died Jan. 24, 2007, at Community Northview Care Center.

Donald Hasty
DEWEYVILLE, Texas - Former Summitville resident Donald Hasty, 56, of Deweyville, Texas, died Jan. 21, 2007, at Baptist Hospital in Orange, Texas.
He was an electronics technician.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Hasty; daughters, Lisa Hasty and Kristi Daily; stepson, Scott Bass; brothers, Charles Hasty of Summitville, John Hasty of Summitville and Herb Hasty; a sister, Gloria Darby; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Buna.
Ronald W. Treesh
Nov. 5, 1910 - Jan. 18, 2007
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Ronald W. Treesh, 96, Winterhaven, Fla., died Jan. 18, 2007, at the Haines City Healthcare Facility in Florida.
His career in the education field spanned 44 years. He had taught in Mongo, Ossian, Alexandria, Anderson and Tipton. He retired in 1977 as principal at Jefferson Elementary School.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Ann Treesh; four children, Geraldine Yeagy of Alexandria, Ronald Treesh Jr. of Anderson, RoseAnn Hinkle and John Treesh; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Spice Treesh in 1966.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Kurt Gremel officiating.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main St., Tipton, IN 46072.
