Hazel L. Anderson

May 27, 2004

PLYMOUTH - Hazel L. Anderson, 88, of 9601 Union Road, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 5:30 a.m. at the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center, Donaldson.

She was born Jan. 27, 1916 in Pattysburg, Mississippi, to Charles and Sadie (Seals) Harrell.

On July 2, 1938 in New Orleans, La., Hazel married Milton J. Anderson. He passed away on Nov. 2,1987. Milton and Hazel moved to Plymouth in 1938.

Hazel is survived by her son Michael (Sandy) Anderson of Bremen; her daughter, Pat (Carl) Bachtel of Walkerton; a sister living in New Orleans; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held, Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, in Plymouth, with Father William Kummer officiating.

Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Glen Robert Kane

May 27, 2004

LAKEVILLE - Glen Robert Kane, 78, of Oakhill Avenue, Plymouth, formerly of Lakeville, North Liberty and Walkerton, died Thursday at 7:25 a.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan J. (Roger) Stealy of Lakeville, Sally A. (Terry) Gerstbauer of Plymouth, Cindy L. (Brent) Reese of Olympia, Wash.; two sons, William E. (Kathleen) Kane and Joseph G. (Brenda) Kane, both of Lakeville; 11 grandchildren and five great -grandchildren; a sister, Alice (John) Weiss of Bremen; a brother, Donald (Babe) Kane of North Liberty.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville. Chaplain Tom Padberg will officiate.

Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marshall County, 112 S. Center St., Suite C, Plymouth, IN 46563.

Lucile M. Neidlinger

May 26, 2004

MONTICELLO - Lucile M. Neidlinger, 90, of Monticello died Wednesday at White County Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by two sons Dan Neidlinger of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tom (Audrey) Neidlinger of Naches, Wash.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour at 11 a.m. with Pastor William Parsons officiating.

Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Visitation will be Saturday, 9:30-11 a.m. at the church.

E. Allen Riddle

April 28, 2004

SARASOTA, Fla. - E. Allen Riddle, 52, of Sarasota, Fla, formerly of Plymouth, died April 28.

He is survived by his sister Rebecca Atkins of Plymouth; his half sister SuzAnne Lintz of Niles, Mich.; and his half brother Jim (Ruby) Gangloff of Plymouth.

Arrangements were handled by Brown and Sons Funeral Home of Sarasota. A private memorial service has been planned in Sarasota Beach, Fla.

Memorial gifts may be given to St. Martha's Catholic Church in care of Bethseda Home, 1670 Fourth Street, Sarasota, FL 34236 or National Cancer Society.

Craig Ross

May 31, 2004

PLYMOUTH - Craig M. Ross, 31, of 17759 Main Street, Plymouth, passed away Monday, May 31, 2004 at 8:18 a.m. at his home in Plymouth.

He was born on March 5, 1973, in South Bend, to Gerald and Linda (Coder) Ross. They moved to the Plymouth area in 1976.

Craig worked as an appraiser for Ross Appraisal for several years. He had his real estate broker's license. For the past two years he had been driving truck for Hiler Industry in Walkerton.

Craig belonged to the Tyner IOOF Lodge 821 and had been part of the Polk Township Fire Department. He had also been a member of the South Bend Chapter of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, the North Central Board of Realtors, the State of Indiana Board of Realtors, and the National Board of Realtors.

Craig is survived by his children, whom he loved very much, Ashley and Austin; the children's mother, Karen Ross; his father, Jerry and Donna Ross of Plymouth; his sisters, Tracy and Charlie Cox of Fort Wayne, and Nicole Fokey of South Bend; his grandmother, Irene Ross of Richmond, his nephews, Cody, Colten, and Carson Cox all of Fort Wayne; and several aunts and uncles. Craig was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Ross; his grandmother Barbara Coder; and his grandfather, Steve Ross.

Services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. David Inskeep officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2004 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Tyner IOOF Lodge 821, will conduct a memorial service at 8:00 p.m on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Craig's children, Ashley and Austin Ross. A fund, in their names, has been set up at the First Source Bank, 315 North Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.

Orville Verdean Zentz

May 31, 2004

ARGOS - Orville Verdean Zentz, 90, died May 31, 2004 at 9:20 p.m. at the Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth after a long illness.

He is survived by a brother, Arthur Zentz, Plymouth; a grandson, Roger M. Zentz II, Plymouth; also by nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. on June 3, 2004 at the Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan Street, Argos. Pastor Tony Schneiders will officiate.

Burial will be at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos. The Argos American Legion Post 68 will conduct military graveside services at the cemetery following the funeral services.

Visitation will be from noon through the hour of services on Thursday.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Walnut church of the Brethren.

Richard Gene Brundage

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Richard Gene Brundage, 76, died May 25, 2004 at his residence in Clarksville.

He is survived by his sons Christopher Brundage, Clarksville; Robert Gene Brundage, Clarksville; William Casey Bridge, Clarksville. Also surviving is a sister, Donna Whittaker, Plymouth, and a half-sister, Betty Brundage, Tankersley, Fla., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. on June 4.

Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. on June 4, 2004 at the Sykes Funeral Home. Rev. D. Doug Norfleet will officiate.

Sally Anne Overmyer Bolt

CULVER - Sally Anne Overmyer Bolt, 36, died May 29, 2004 at her residence in Culver.

She is survived by her parents Lance Overmyer and Mary Lynn Stoffel, companion David Campbell, grandparents Jane Stoffel and Helen Overmyer, brother Lance Overmyer, sisters Shelli Arriaga and Amy Overmyer.

A memorial mass will be held on June 6, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church located at 124 College Avenue, Culver. Followed by a celebration of Sally's life for family and friends in the Church basement.

Bert J. Brockus

June 2, 2004

LAPAZ - Lifetime Marshall County resident, Bert J. Brockus, 75, died, after a long battle with cancer, at his residence, 12465 Thumper Trail, LaPaz, at 8:20 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2004.

Born in Argos on Aug. 10, 1928, Bert was the son of Buros and Margaret Meir Brockus. He attended Argos High School.

Bert served in the United States Marine Corps as a corporal from 1946 to 1949. He earned the World War II Victory Medal.

On Aug. 12, 1950, in Argos, Bert and Rosemary E. Shafer were married.

He worked for the Bendix Corp. in South Bend from 1951 till his retirement in 1986, a total of 35 loyal years.

Mushroom hunting was one of Bert's favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed reading western novels, traveling, telling jokes, and gambling and harvesting black walnuts for friends and family.

Bert is survived by Rose, his wife of almost 54 years, LaPaz, and their two children: son Brent J. Brockus and daughter, Brenda K. and Ron Meyers, all of Plymouth.

Four grandchildren also survive. They are: Bret Brockus, Knox; Amy Millar, and Elizabeth Myers, Plymouth; Erica Myers, South Bend. Two great-grandsons survive as well. They are Bryantle Brockus and Kyle Brockus.

A brother, Bob Brockus, Sun Lakes, AZ, and three sisters survive also. They are: Bernice Erow, Milford, Mary Batcho, Plymouth, and Evelyn Bowman, Sturgis, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents and by four sisters: Julia Street, Harriett Harrell-Rosenbaum, Jerry Roahrig and Dorothy Arndt. One brother, Lester Brockus, has also died.

Friends will be welcomed by the family to visit and share memories on June 4, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services for Bert will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004, in the funeral home. The Rev. Lane Burgland, pastor of the Churubusco Faith Lutheran Church will officiate.

American Legion Post 385 of which Bert was a member will honor his service to his country with graveside rites at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts in Bert's memory may be sent to the Marshall County Hospice.

PEORIA, Ariz.- Richard Lee Anderson, 60, died Saturday at Banner Health Care.

He is survived by daughters Sheila Jackson, Peoria, and Dana Anderson, Phoenix, Ariz.; son Richard Anderson, Jr., Belleville, Ill.; brothers Robert Anderson, Eagle, Idaho, David Anderson, Phoenix, Ariz., Harold Anderson, Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters Barbara Wilson, Frankfort, Katie Warlick, San Antonio, Texas, and Christine Bailey, West Jordan, Utah.

Memorial service will be at Cole & Maud- The Gardens on June 4, 2004 at 10 a.m.

Elaine Eastes

Fort Wayne - Elaine Eastes, 42,died Tuesday at Lutheran Hospital.

Survivors include husband, Eric R. Eastes, Fort Wayne; children, Kellyn, Jared, and Tori, Fort Wayne; mother Phyllis Keller, Fort Wayne; sisters Julie Anderson, Rockville and Lisa Hassett, Plymouth; brother Al Keller, Fort Wayne.

Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. June 4 at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Services will be 2 p.m. June 5 with visitation on hour prior at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1505 Bethany Lane.

Burial will be at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Erin's House.

Thelma L. Hartman

June 1, 2004

LAKEVILLE - Thelma L. Hartman, 90 years old, residing on New Road, Lakeville, died Tuesday at 6:50 a.m. at the home of her son in Mishawaka.

Thelma is survived by a daughter, Judi (Kenny) Markley of Lakeville; one son, Robert Daniel (Nancy Marie) Hartman of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Mae Hipsak of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. Steve Cox, pastor of Cornerstone Community Fellowship, LaPaz, will officiate.

Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday in the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

Don Winsted, Jr.

April 26, 2004

SPEEDWAY - Don Winsted, Jr. 82, died April 26, 2004 after an extended illness.

Graveside services were held on April 27 in Plainfield. On May 15, a memorial service was held at the Church of the Masters in Speedway.

He is survived by wife Barbara Winsted; daughters Jeanne Rosser, Leslie Johnson, and Allison Ayson; son Don Winsted III., and sister Virginia Ardington.
