BREMEN - Maynard R. Ealing, 91, of Bremen died Friday at 6:10 a.m. at Community Hospital of Bremen.
He is survived by two daughters Naomi Cook of Avon and Elizabeth Berger of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons Maynard Lee (Ruth) Ealing of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Robert Daniel (Christine) of Boise, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister Margaret Grider of Valparaiso.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at First United Church of Christ in Bremen with Pastor Susan Sickelka officiating.
Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, is in charge of the arrangements.
Robert Henry Horban

ROCHESTER - Robert Henry Horban, 8, died Saturday at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He is survived by his wife Catherine Laverne Horban at home; three daughters Suzanna Lozanno of Richmond, Mary (Kent) Ross of Peru and Angela (Russ) Miller of Rochester; six sons John (Nancy) Pratt of Rochester, Gerald (Beth Ann) Horban of Elkhart, Blaise (Lynne) Horban of Chesterton, Andrew (Vicki) Horban of Rochester, Giles (Suzanne) Horban of South Bend, and Stephen (Trish) Horban of Rochester; 28 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today, 5-8 p.m. at Foster and Good Funeral Home, Rochester, where a prayer vigil will be conducted at 8 p.m. or 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester with Father Joseph Jacob will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rochester Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery. American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial gifts may be given to Catholic Charities.

KOONTZ LAKE - Thomas L. Grant, 66, of North Hiawatha Place, Koontz Lake, died Sunday in his home after a sudden illness.
Survivors include a daughter Susan Eilser of North Carolina; a son Larry Grant of Michigan; his mother Hattie Grant of Hammond; two stepdaughters Julie (Larry) Springer of Koontz Lake and Gayle (Charles) Stark of Indianapolis; a stepson Brett (Pamela) Miller of Mishawaka; and grandchildren Marlanna, Marc, Koltyn, Garrette, Arielle, Michael, Amber, William, Heather, Aimee and Megan.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Koontz Lake Missionary Church with Rev. Lloyd George officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, and Thursday at the church after 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Grovertown Conservation Clubhouse.

Evelyn Y. Weissert

BOURBON - Evelyn Y. Weissert, 93, of 604 W. Sunset St., Bourbon, died on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2003 at 5:55 a.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home where she was a resident.
She was born on April 12, 1910 in Marshall County to Ernest and Fern Miller Young. Mrs. Weissert married Carl Weissert on July 6, 1929, he survives. They shared 74 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet, knit and paint pictures. She loved birds and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her work in the Go & Grow circle of her church when she was able to attend. She did volunteer work at Marshall Starke and also duty as a Pink Lady at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth. She was a life member of Bashor Home Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, who resides at Pilgrim Nursing Home; five grandchildren: Steve (Lisa) Weissert, Bourbon; Marc (Judi) Weissert, Bourbon; Tammy (Jeff) Fites, Warsaw; Kris (Tom) King, Tippecanoe; and Scott (Michelle) Wickens, Warsaw. She is also survived by a sister: Carolyn Robbins, Syracuse; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Joan Weissert, Bourbon.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ellen Lattae on Feb. 19, 2000; sons: Lowell in 1969 and Ernie on May 20, 1998.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Deaton Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 in the Bourbon First United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Raschka and Pastor Bonnie Shoaf officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Bourbon First United Methodist Church or to Bashor Home in her memory.

DONIE, Texas - Funeral services for Adelaida V. Armendariz, 69, of Donie were Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Carlo Benjamin P. Manaye officiating. Burial took place in Mexia Cemetery under direction of Porter Funeral Home-Mexia.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Mexia, she died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at her residence. She was born May 25, 1934 in Kerens, Texas. She retired from Aearo-AO-Safety, Plymouth, about six years ago after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Manuela Mora.
Surviving are her husband Emilio Armendariz Perez of Donie; a sister Aurora Vasquez of Donie; a brother Andrew Mora Jr. of Plymouth; two nieces, five nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and five stepchildren.
Elmer L. Fletcher

ARGOS - Elmer L. Fletcher, 97, of Argos passed away Dec. 21, 2003 at 8:10 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, where he'd been a patient since July of 2002.
He was born in Richland Center (west of Rochester) on Sept. 17, 1906 to Claude D. and Barbara E. Wynn Fletcher. Both preceded him in death. He had lived most of his life in the Argos Community, except for wintering in the Avon Park and Sebring, Fla., areas for 22 years.
On June 24, 1934 at Walnut Church of the Brethren he took Chloe L. Swihart Heck to be his wife. She preceded him in death Aug. 23, 2002. Elmer was a man of many talents. Farming was his chosen occupation, specifically grain farming and dairy cows. He was also an accomplished welder and carpenter.
Mr. Fletcher was a 1927 graduate of Argos High School. He attended the Walnut Church of the Brethren, where he had been active as a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also an active member of Shalom Fellowship in Plymouth.
Survivors include a brother-in-law Merl (Edna) Swihart of Plymouth and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, a brother Floyd Fletcher preceded him in death.
Services will be held Friday, Dec. 26, 2003 at Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, at 11 a.m. with pastor Bob Rice officiating.
Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Miller's Merry Manor, Word of Life Ministries of Plano, Texas, or Walnut Church of the Brethren.

PLYMOUTH - Anges C. Dixon, 84, of Plymouth died Monday at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by three daughters Dora Ann (Ray) Van Blaricom of Plymouth, Sandra (Charlie) Miller of LaPaz and Joyce (Mark) Arndt of Osceola; four sons Richard L. Dixon, Joe Dixon, Jack Dixon, all of Plymouth, and James (Amy) Dixon of Mishawaka; three sisters Della (Al) Drake of Florida, Pat Sporner of Bourbon, Jean Makowski of Plymouth; two brothers Kenneth (Mary) Luse of Plymouth and Wayne (Viola) Luse of Monon; 20 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, 4-7 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to American Heart Association.

HAMLET - Karl G. Swanson, 53, of Knox, died Saturday in his home following an illness.
He is survived by his wife Irene; three daughters Tracy Bosserman of Virginia, Erica Swanson of Kentucky, Cindy Swanson of Kentucky; stepdaughters Sharon Button, Karen Barnett, both of Winamac, Debbie Crissinger, Connie Witt, both of Crawfordsville, and Teresa Spencer of Knox; two sons Karl Swanson of Virginia and Jimmy Swanson of Virginia; stepsons George Howard of Winamac and Lloyd Howard of Knox; brothers Mark Swanson of Nokesville, Va., and Jerry Swanson of Syracuse, N.Y.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-9 p.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, and Saturday 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at United Pentacostal Church of Knox.

BOURBON - Merlin D. Wallace, 65, who was a resident of 2656 S.R. 331, Bremen, died Monday at 7:35 a.m. in his home.
He is survived by his wife Alice Klinefelter; a daughter Susan Jennifer (Timothy) Gorski; three sons Thomas Edward (Kathryn) Wallace of Charlotte, N.C., James William Wallace of Plymouth and Michael John (Amber) Wallace of South Bend; four grandchildren; his sisters Roena Yazel of Plymouth, Alvina (Lee) Flory of Osceola, Nadine (Dean) Rice of Osceola, Juanita (R. James) Stapan of Plymouth and Linda (James) Sheets of Argos; and two brothers Burton Wallace of Plymouth and Devere (Lou) Wallace of Argos.
Visitation will be Friday, 4-8 p.m., in Deaton Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Deaton Funeral with Pastor Tom Padberg officiating.
Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given to Marshall County Hospice.
Agnes L. Mayse

PLYMOUTH - Agnes L. Mayse, 90, a resident of Pilgrim Manor, 222 Parkview Drive, since April of 1999, died there of natural causes at 9:50 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003. Agnes was formerly from the Kokomo area and had lived in Plymouth since 1938, most recently on Thayer St.
Born in New London, Ind., on Sept. 30, 1913, Agnes was the daughter of Wilmer W. and Otia Orem Lindley.
She was proud to have graduated from Russiaville High School with the class of 1931. Her father served as principal and presented her and her siblings with their diplomas at their graduation services. Agnes graduated from the Kokomo Business College. She worked one day at Northern Indiana Power and was injured in a serious bus/train accident on her way home from work.
On March 14, 1936, in Kokomo, Agnes and George S. Mayse were married. In 1938, Agnes and George moved to Plymouth and opened a Mayse Hardware Store, successfully operating it until 1960. George died on June 11, 1962.
Agnes was a member of the Russiaville Friends Church. She also was a Daughter of the Republic and a member of the Wythougan Doll Guild, the Plymouth Doll club and the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and the Plymouth Business and Professional Women's Club.
Agnes is survived by three nieces. They are Ann Elizabeth Lindley Slabaugh and her husband Nicholas, Indianapolis; Laura Jane Moorman, Westerville, Ohio; and Jennifer Lynn Moorman, Ohio.
Special friends, Grace Falconbury and Pat Kyser, both of Plymouth, survive as well.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Donald Lindley, a brother and two sisters, Gertrude Lindley and Laura Lindley Moorman.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Committal services for Agnes will be that same afternoon, Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. in the Friends Church Cemetery, New London, Ind. just north of Russiaville.
Agnes will be interred in the Friends Cemetery, two blocks from her birthplace in New London, Ind. Other family members nearby will be her husband, father, mother and sister.
Memorial gifts in Agnes' memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Florence Underwood

WARREN, OHIO - Florence Clough Underwood, 96, of 4100 N. River Rd., Warren, Ohio, formerly of Plymouth, died at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at her residence.
Mrs. Underwood was born July 15, 1907 in Plymouth. She was the daughter of Charles and Alice Woodbury Clough. She graduated from Plymouth High School. Florence married Paul B. Underwood on Aug. 22, 1935. Mr. Underwood died on May 20, 1996.
Mrs. Underwood worked for the Indiana Public Service Commission and retired from Camp Fire Girls Council Office.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, belonged to Eastern Star and Tri Kappa. She enjoyed needlework, ceramics, basketball and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Ned Underwood, Howland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Arthur and Charles.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church with Father John Schramm officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Florence's name to Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Plymouth.
