Raymond Louis Lucas
MONTICELLO - Services for Raymond Louis Lucas, 78, Monticello, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Miller-Roscka Funeral Home.
He died at 11:26 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, in White County Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1930, near Idaville, he was the son of Jacob and Gladys Geisler Lucas.
He resided in the White County area most of his life.
Raymond was the valedictorian of the 1948 graduating class of Buffalo High School. He had farmed until 1971 and had worked for Kaiser Chemical out of Rockfield. He also drove a school bus for the Pioneer School Corporation for several years, and worked maintenance for Westminster Village in West Lafayette.
Raymond loved to go hunting and fishing.
Surviving are sons, Raymond Michael “Mike” Lucas and wife, Jo, Francesville, Rick DeWayne Lucas and wife, Beverly, Monticello, and Scott Alan Lucas and wife, Pam, Hiltons, Va.; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Lucas Richardson, Buffalo; five aunts; mother of his children, Alda Jane Lucas, Buffalo; and friend, Janet Scott, Monticello;
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jenna Belle Lucas; two nieces; one nephew; and special companion, Carol Stacey.
The Rev. Keith Raderstorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Idaville Cemetery, Idaville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jeryl Lynn Hamilton
Jeryl Lynn Hamilton, 59, Logansport, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, in her residence.
Born Jan. 3, 1949, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Rogers Moon. She was married April 1, 1966, in Logansport, to Marvin Hamilton, who survives.
A homemaker, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed computers, especially Internet gaming. For 13 years, she had worked at National Friction.
Surviving with her husband of 41 years are three children, Tracey Cromartie, Stacey Black and Casey Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Hamilton, Jordan Sullivan, Jasmine Sullivan, Jennifer Sullivan, Nicole Black, Nathan Black and Ceylan Cromartie; two brothers, John B. Moon and Jimmy Moon; four sisters, Shirley Vanderbilt, Phyllis Michael, Connie Sturgeon and Sondra Leazenby; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Moon; her mother, Agnes Hartman; her stepfather, Jessie Hartman; and one sister, Virginia Alderson.
There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Fisher Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Catherine Bessignano Pasquale
A Mass of Christian burial for Catherine Bessignano Pasquale, 98, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in All Saints Catholic Church.
She died at 1:40 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in St. Augustine Home for the Aged, Indianapolis.
Born Feb. 7, 1910, in Peru, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Angeline Mattiaccia Bessignano. She was married Oct. 26, 1929, in Peru, to Nicholas Pasquale, who preceded in death Aug. 7, 1996.
Catherine lived most of her adult life in Logansport, raising her family. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Logansport High School, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, their Altar Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, and was a charter member of the William Paca Lodge, Order of Sons of Italy in America.
Catherine enjoyed cooking and serving her family.
Surviving are four children, Rosann and Ken Haines, Westfield, Jim and Sherry Pasquale, Logansport, Mary and Gene Miller, Fishers, and Margaret and Ron Fouts, Elloree, S.C.; one brother, Dominic Bessignano, South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons, one daughter, one grandson, and four sisters.
Father Michael McKinney will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kroeger Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. followed by a William Paca Service at 6:30 p.m.

Billy Wayne White
Memorial services for Billy Wayne White, 59, Logansport, are 1 p.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, in his residence.
Born May 8, 1949, in Byltheville, Ark., he was the son of Kenneth Lee White and Opal Pauline Rose. He was married Sept. 11, 2004, in Peru, to Angela L. Miller, who survives.
He was a retired truck driver for Carter Lumber Company of Kokomo and Midland Lumber of Peru. He enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR and cookouts.
Also surviving are daughters, Amy Spampinato, Logansport, Kelly Poindexter, North Manchester, and Kari Poindexter, Peru; sons, Steven Spampinato, Logansport, Derek Poindexter, Ohio, Chris Poindexter, Indianapolis, and Kenny Poindexter, Indianapolis; sister, Pauline Lueth, Wabash; brother, Vern White, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Tina Winnie; and one brother, Chuck White, preceded in death.
Pastor Tim Berlin will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of the grandchildren.
Christian Lee Chandler
DENVER - Services for Christian Lee Chandler, 7 weeks, Peru, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in United Pentecostal Church, 908 E. Broadway, Logansport.
He passed away suddenly at 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in Dukes Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 9, 2008, in Peru, he was the son of Ben L. and Crystal L. McElheny Chandler.
He is survived by his parents, of Peru; maternal grandparents, Robert E. and Vickie L. Schramm McElheny, Denver; paternal grandparents, Deborah M. Chandler, Kokomo, and Thomas C. Chandler, Arkansas; maternal great-grandparents, Patricia S. Slifer, Denver, and her fiancé, Wallace Cooper, Michigan; and Harold E. McElheny and his fiancé, Patricia Floyd, Logansport; paternal great-grandparents, Loretta Chandler, Peru; maternal stepgreat-grandmother, Blanche Schramm, South Carolina; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard C. Schramm, Betty L. McElheny; great-grandparent, Thomas C. Chandler Sr., and several other great-grandparents.
Pastor Dan Schramm will officiate.

Geneva Kozma
A memorial service for Geneva Kozma, 77, Logansport, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
She died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1931, in Indiana, she was the daughter of Oral and Bessie Smith Robertson.
She was retired from GenCorp, where she had worked for 42 years.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (wife, Christine) Kozma, Monticello, and Terry Kozma, Logansport; two brothers, Donald (wife, Betty) Robertson, Georgetown, and Richard Robertson, Logansport; four sisters, Helen Crockett, Royal Center, Patricia (husband, Jerry) Hall, Headlee, Sandra (husband, John) Linds, Lockport, and Wilma (husband, Larry) Bowman, Lockport; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Weaver of Headlee.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Jean Conn
ROYAL CENTER - Services for Jean Conn, 75, Royal Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel.
She died at 1:17 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Born Nov. 18, 1933, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary E. Myers Kelly. On June 17, 1951, she was married to Don E. “Oss” Conn, Jr., he survives.
She was a 1951 graduate of Royal Center High School.
Jean retired in 1996 after 30 years from Community State Bank as Vice President. She was a member of Royal Center United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer who was a charter member of Pond View Golf Course, and she also enjoyed her pets and spending time with her family.
Surviving with her husband, Don E. “Oss” Conn, Jr., Royal Center, are sons, Michael K. Conn and wife, Karla, South Bend, and Don Conn III and wife, Barb, Royal Center; daughter, Patti L. Elliott and husband, Buz, Frankfort; sisters, Virginia Bucinski, Kewanna, and Bess Hughes, Monticello; grandchildren, Michele, Kirk, Khara, Erin, Eric, Krysta, Bret, Scott and Jake; and five great-grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her many friends in Florida.
She was preceded in death by sister, Ruth Shafer, and brother, Robert Hanson.
Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate, and burial will be in Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.

Esther R. Lyons
Services for Esther R. Lyons, 88, Logansport, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, in WoodBridge Health Campus.
Born Oct. 1, 1920, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Harry Spitznogle and Derena Agnes Radkey. She was married June 11, 1949, in Logansport, to Jack A. Lyons, who preceded in death Oct. 5, 2006.
Esther retired from Logansport Memorial Hospital in 1985 after 25 years as a registered nurse working in the OB Department. Prior employment included work at Northwestern and St. Luke’s hospitals in Chicago.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s group of the church. Esther was a graduate of the Lafayette Home Hospital and the Chicago, St. Luke’s Hospital School of X-ray.
Surviving are daughter, Jill Lamb, Irvine, Calif.; sons, T. Jack Lyons and partner, Reb McMichael, Jackson, Miss., and David Lyons and Huong, Washington D.C.; sister, Kay Burney, Omaha, Neb.; grandsons, Nicholas Lamb and Evan Lamb, both of California; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Benson, Janet Cree and Helen Leffert.
Rev. Keith Schreffler will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.

She died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Kokomo.
Born Feb. 2, 1914, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Earl and Emma Baumgardner Appleton. She was married in 1936 in Wabash to George Lowell Roberson, who preceded in death Dec. 30, 2004.
Frances was formerly employed at the H.W. Gossard Co.
She was a former member of Union Presbyterian Church, Indiana Farm Bureau and the Washington Township 49ers.
Surviving are daughter, Sandra Williams, El Cajon, Calif.; three sons, John Roberson and wife, Joanne, Winchester, Tenn., Daniel L. Roberson and wife, Juanita, Galveston, and David L. Roberson and wife, Gail, Lafayette; one sister, Jane Hanna, Logansport; one brother, John Appleton and wife, Carolyn, Logansport; 12 grandchildren, Nancy, Tommy, Russ, Mitch, Nathan, Stephanie, Stephan, Patrick, Debra, Lori, Eric and Karl; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Riley Roberson; one son-in-law, Thomas H. Williams; two sisters, Barbara Shoup and Lucy Brown; one brother, Gaylord Appleton; and two half brothers, Alan and Merle Appleton.
Pastor David Herron will officiate. Burial will be in the Walton IOOF Cemetery, Walton. There will be a funeral dinner at the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church following the burial.

Frances E. Davis-Meyer
Services for Frances E. Davis-Meyer, 90, Logansport, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 2:16 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, in Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Logansport.
Born Aug. 16, 1918, in Logansport, she was the daughter of William Jones and Daisy Calloway. She was married Aug. 18, 1938, in Logansport, to Wilbur G. “Bud” Davis, who preceded in death Nov. 9, 1979, and in 1985, to Edwin Meyer.
Frances retired from General Tire, worked as nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital, Logansport, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and elderly care.
She was a member of the former Market Street United Methodist Church and Golden Agers. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. She was a past president and very active in PTA at Longfellow School. She loved spending winters in Eustis, Fla., where she participated in a kitchen band and ballroom dancing.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara Dingeldein and husband, Jerry, and Susie Cox and husband, Richie, all of Logansport; son, Brad Davis and wife, Jaynie, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, Wendy Dingeldein Waltz, Logansport, Kelly Cox, Burlington, Brock (Jenni) Cox, Ohio, Heidi Cox (Doug) Lucy and Brandi Cox (Brad) Rozzi, Logansport; Eric (Eleanor) Cox, Wisconsin; Mike, Gus, and Elise Davis, Indianapolis, and the late Robbie Dingeldein; eight great-grandchildren, Mavrick Waltz, Logansport, Gabe and Ella Lucy, Lillian Cox, Wisconsin, Colin and Kyle Rozzi, Logansport, and Monica and Bennie Cox, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Robbie Dingeldein; two brothers, Stanton and Casey Jones Sr.; nieces, Jean Snider and Joan Davis; and nephews, Jack Davis and Bill Jones.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Rita A. Grady
A mass of Christian burial for Rita A. Grady, 85, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in All Saints Catholic Church.
She died at 11:41 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, in Chase Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1922, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Frank and Catherine Boon Nowviskie. She was married June 7, 1944, to John G. “Jack” Grady, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1972.
A 1940 graduate of Logansport High School, Rita graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1944. She had been employed as head surgical nurse at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital. She also was head nurse at Chase Center when it opened. Rita had also been employed by Dr. D. K. Winter.
A member of All Saints Catholic Church, she was a member of All Saints Ladies Society. In earlier years, she had been active in the Florence Nightingale Club, Indiana State Nurses Association, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing Alumni Association, Logansport Elkettes and the Cass County Historical Society.
Survivors include her two sisters, Dorothy Alberts and Helen Weaver, both of Logansport; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding in death were two brothers, Roger Nowviskie and Eugene Nowviskie.
Fr. Jeff Martin will officiate. Interment will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Kroeger Funeral Home.
A scripture service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Deacon Juan Rodroguez officiating.
