VIOLET M. CONNER
Violet M. Conner, 104, of 101 Constitution Drive, Francesville, IN, passed away at 7:30 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville, IN.
She was born February 19, 1902, in Mena, AR to George and Mary Rearick Rinebarger. She married Marion G. Conner on September 30, 1930 in Winamac, IN. Marion died October 4, 1973.
Violet has lived in Pulaski County since she was 3 years old, having moved here from Mena, Arkansas. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac, Ladies of Charity, and the Christian Mothers. Violet was a life member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxillary and was a member of the Monroe #1 Home Extension Club. She was a charter member of the Board of Directors of Pulaski Human Services and served as Secretary from 1973-1981. Violet was the Pulaski County representative to the Northwest Indiana Community Action Agency. She enjoyed Cro-knitting.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 6:30 PM CDT at Frain Mortuary.

ETHEL HOESEL JENTZ
Ethel Hoesel Jentz, 105, of 515 East 13th Street, Winamac, IN, died at 8:00 AM Friday, July 21, 2006 at Hickory Creek @ Winamac in Winamac, IN.
She was born March 16, 1901, in Winamac, IN, to Charles and Nettie Smith Hoesel. She married Ralph William Jentz on 08/20/1929 in Wheeling, WV. Ralph died December 21, 1964.
Mrs. Jentz graduated from Winamac High School in 1919. She attended Valparaiso University and Indiana University. Ethel was a retired school teacher having taught in Pulaski County Schools, Hobart Schools and Kennard Schools in Indiana. She retired from the West Central School Corp in Francesville, IN in 1971. Ethel was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and the Pulaski County Retired Teachers Association. She was a 50 plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star # 96 in Winamac, IN. She was also a member of the Metamonong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mother's Club, Pulaski County Farm Bureau, Beta Beta Latrian Club and the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Judith Carolyn (Robert)Lord,of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons Steven (Aurora) Lord, and their son Matthew all of St. Louis, MO and Michael (Hilary)Lord, of Minneapolis, MN. Also surviving are two sisters Dorothy Hoesel Huddleston of Sterling,VA and Farrell Hoesel Lutz of Vienna,VA
Three sisters Olive Hoesel Enright, May Hoesel Baker and Fay Hoesel Underwood and five brothers
Services will be held at 10 AM CDT Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Rev. Steve Fritchman officiating.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM CDT on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Frain Mortuary. An OES Service will be held at 6 PM CDT at Frain Mortuary.

PAUL GRAFTON KISER
Paul Grafton Kiser, 68, of 9227 N 525 W, Royal Center, IN, passed away at 5:35 AM Thursday, July 6, 2006 at his residence.
He was born June 24, 1938, in Wolcott, IN , to Burley Virgil and Marie Grafton Kiser. He married Mary Frances Rausch on Jan. 30, 1960 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac. Mary Frances survives.
He just celebrated his 68th birthday. He was a non-smoker all his life and had been battling lung cancer since December of 2005.
Paul graduated from Star City High School in 1956.
Paul valued family, friends, farming, and faith. He has been a self-employed farmer for 46 years in partnership with the Milford and Mildred House family of Royal Center. Throughout the years he has raised grain crops and livestock, including dairy cows, beef steers, and for the majority of his career, hogs. A very hard worker, Paul enjoyed the spring planting seasons and fall harvests more than any other time of the year. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends, both old and new, in the off-seasons.
Paul served in the Army National Guard, 293rd Infantry, of Logansport, IN. A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Winamac, Paul served on the Parish Council. As a parent, Paul became involved in 4-H and served as a leader for many years. He served on the 4-H Swine Committee and held terms as both vice-president and president. He also served on the Cass County Fair Board, two terms as president; the Pioneer School Board; and the Thornhope Elevator Farmer's Grain & Supply Board of Directors.

Services will be held at 10AM CDT Monday, July 10, 2006, in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Father John Mencsik and Father Jeff Martin officiating.
Burial, with Military Graveside Services, will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.
Friends may call from 1-8PM CDT Sunday, July 9, 2006, in Frain Mortuary.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:30PM CDT in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass Co. 4-H Fair Association or St. Peter's Catholic Church.
DONALD ALBERT SWARTZ
Donald Albert Swartz, 68, of 2418 E 430 S, Lafayette, IN, passed away at 6:27 PM Thursday, June 29, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, IN.
He was born May 20, 1938, in Francesville, IN, to Archie and Doris Boehning Swartz. He married Brenda (Binkley) Swartz on 05/21/1982 in Danville, IL. Brenda survives.
Donald was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed operating his CB and HAM radios. He loved to watch auto racing and had been involved in drag racing when he was younger. He was a very private person and was a loving husband.

KATHRYN A. BENESH
Kathryn A. Benesh,51, OF 201 W. Talmer Ave., North Judson, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006,at 7:50 PM in Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox, IN.
She was born April 4, 1955, in Rensselaer, IN, to Clifford and Loretta Randolph Mullins. She married Donald D. Benesh on 12/22/1999 in Monticello, IN. Donald survives.
Kathryn had worked as a server at Anglers in Monticello, IN. She enjoyed music, time with her family and friends and being outdoors. Kathryn enjoyed stock car racing and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. She loved to fish. She lived most of her life in the Monticello area.

JAMES R. KASTEN
James R. Kasten, 52, of 702 N. Hathaway St., Winamac, IN, passed away at 4:22 PM Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born April 16, 1954, in Winamac, IN, to John and Lois Ludwig Kasten. He married Carol Weddell on June 19, 1998 in Knox, IN. Carol survives.
He was a maintainance worker for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 16 years. He formerly worked at the Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac, for 5 years, and Whalon Machine in Royal Center, IN.

Graveside Services will be held at 10AM CDT Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac, with Pastor John McDugle officiating.
