SALLIE M. MAYFIELD
Sallie Mae Mayfield, 66, of 5453 Nighthawk Way, Indianapolis, IN, passed away at 8:25 AM Sunday, January 28, 2007 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born October 21, 1940, in Comer, AL, to Pierce and Martha Whigham Salary.
She attended Comer Public Schools, in Alabama, until moving to Gary Indiana in 1956. Sallie graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1961.
Sallie was united in marriage in 1964, in which she moved to Racine, Wisconsin for a short time before returning to Gary, Indiana until 1965. She lived in Gary until moving to Monterey, Indiana in 1970.
Sallie joined the church at a young age. She attended Galilee Baptist Church in Comer, Alabama until moving to Gary, Indiana in 1956. In Gary, Indiana she attended Old Mount Mariah Baptist until moving. In 1970, she moved to Monterey, Indiana there she joined First Baptist Church of Kings Lake, Delong, Indiana. She was faithful member until she became ill.
She loved to fish.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Noon CST Saturday, February 3, 2007, in Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Chaplain Washington and Pastor Andrew Murdock officiating.

RAYMOND E. SCHROEDER
Raymond E. "Bud" Schroeder, 81, of 101 Constitution Drive, Francesville, IN, passed away at 1:45 AM Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville, IN.
He was born June 14, 1925, in Chicago, IL, to Raymond and Marguerite Wetterlund Schroeder.
Bud was the owner/operator of the Countryside Lanes Bowling Alley in Radioville, IN for over 40 years. He had owned and operated a residential milk delivery service in Chicago and northern Indiana for many years. He had also operated a dairy store in Mt Greenwood, IL. Bud was an avid baseball fan. He had played as a catcher on a minor league baseball team for several years as a young man. He often related a story of the time he watched Babe Ruth play baseball in Chicago. Bud was a former state seniors bowling champion. Bud was the biggest kid of all. He frequently took his kids to Chicago for the Ice Capades, the Shrine Circus and Indiana Beach in Monticello, IN. He also enjoyed ice hockey and golf.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM CST Sunday, January 28, 2007, in Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, with Pastor James Ketchen officiating.

Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in LaCrosse, IN.
Memorials may be given to the Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville, IN.
ROY L. Mc ILVAIN SR.
Roy L. McIlvain Sr., 85, of 15418 W 150 N, Medaryville, IN, passed away at 9:55 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus in Merrillville, IN.
He was born January 30, 1921, in Hartford, KS, to Clarence and Bessie Chambers McIlvain. He married Dorothy Schultz on Jan. 14, 1944, in Winamac. She survives.
He was a member of the Medaryville American Legion Post and the Medaryville United Methodist Church.
He was a retired volunteer firefighter with the White Post Township Fire Department, Medaryville, IN.
He was a WWII Army veteran and served from 1943-1946. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart.

JAMES A. GOULD
James A. Gould, 79, of 6578 S 400 E, Star City, IN, passed away at 11:23 AM Monday, January 8, 2007 at his residence in Star City, IN.
He was born November 7, 1927, in Spencer , IA, to George and Mary Elders Gould. He married Betty Lou Kreutzberger on October 8, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN. Betty survives.
Jim was a Life member of the VFW 1728 in Winamac, IN., and the Star City Lions Club. He was a Star City Volunteer Fireman. Jim moved here in 1962 from Monticello, IN. He had worked at Smith Douglas Fertilizer in Streater, IL. He worked at Hanenkratt Grain Elevator in Monticello. He was the Owner/operator of the Moyer Grain Co., Inc. in Star City until his retirement in 1994. Jim enjoyed playing golf, camping, fishing and winters in Florida. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog George. Jim was a 1952 graduate of Iowa State College in Ames, IA. He held the mile run record at his high school in Spencer, IA for 22 years. He served in the US Army where he served in the honor guard for General Ridgeway while in Japan.

Burial will be in the Star City West Cemetery in Star City, IN. the VFW & American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Memorials may be given to the Shrine Crippled Childrens Hospital.
MARGARET ANN VAN BUSKIRK
Margaret Ann Van Buskirk, 78, of 117 E. Main St., Medaryville, IN, passed away at 11:05 AM Friday, January 5, 2007 at her residence.
She was born April 4, 1928, in Winamac, IN, to William and Lydia Shedrow Nicolas.
She was a lifetime resident of Medaryville.
She graduated from Medaryville High School.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Medaryville, IN.
She enjoyed crocheting and attending auctions.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a former employee of Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Francesville, IN.

VIVIAN E. BYERS
Vivian Elizabeth Byers, 96, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac, IN, passed away at 8:43 PM Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, IN.
She was born February 7, 1910, in Medaryville, IN, to Theodore and Alice Carr Phillips.
She was married to Ennis Byers on May 4, 1940, in the Medaryville Christian Church. He died March of 1977.
She was born in Gilliam Township, Jasper County, IN, and grew up in Conrath, Wisc. and lived most in Medaryville.
She was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church where she was Baptized on March 15, 1931. She worked with the church's youth program, taught Sunday School, and was the church librarian and served on the Mission's Committee.
She retired from the Medaryville Garment Factory as the Assistant Manager after over 30 years of employment.
She was a member of the Pulaski County Historical Society.
