A Mass of Christian burial for Richard H. Walters, 81, Logansport, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church.
He died at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Chase Center.
Born Nov. 3, 1927, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Cecil Walters and Inez Germaine. On June 6, 1959, he was married to Marie Bisacchi, who survives.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II serving in Germany. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1987 as a quality engineer. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion and UAW.
Richard loved fishing and mushroom hunting, but his first love was of the game of golf. He loved trading jokes and playing practical jokes on his brothers-in-law, Johnny, Jimmy and Anthony, and good friend, Tom Lane.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Walters, Logansport; daughter, Vicki Berkshire and husband, Paul, Burnettsville; son, Jim Albrecht, Logansport; grandson, Lucas Albrecht, California; stepgrandsons, Michael Berkshire and wife, Amanda, Burnettsville, and David Berkshire and wife, Sabrina, Reynolds; stepgreat-grandchildren, Cody, Colton, Yazmine and Natalie Berkshire; sisters, Betty Mullet and Karen Miller, both of Logansport, and Patricia Floyd, Royal Center; brother, Tom Walters, Germany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Deane.
Father Jeff Martin will officiate, and burial, with military rites, will be performed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Marocco Funeral Chapel, where there will also be a Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Barbara Mae Mehaffie
Barbara Mae Mehaffie, Logansport, Ind., passed away May 9, 2009, in Valparaiso, Ind. Born in Logansport on Oct. 12, 1923, she was the daughter of Chester and Mae Eldridge.
Barbara was married on Feb. 3, 1946, to Wilbur J. Mehaffie, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1989. A son, Jimmie, preceded them in death on Sept. 10, 1954. A brother, James Eldridge, and a sister, Marge Lambert, preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Jeff and Tish, Carlsbad, Calif., Mike and Marlene, Peachtree City, Ga., and Chris and Teresa, Chesterton, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Monica, Solana Beach, Calif., Brandon and Holly, Escondido, Calif., Ashley and Steve Schaber, Anchorage, Alaska, Sarah, Newnan, Ga., Katie, Peachtree City, Ga., Rachel, New York, N.Y., and Andrea, Tampa, Fla.; one great-grandchild, Caroline Mae, Newnan, Ga.
A memorial service will be held on June 1 at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Lutheran Church, Walton, Ind. Private burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery in Carroll County.

Biographical Information: Jack was a 1947 graduate of Monticello High School, a 1958 graduate of Butler University, and a 1961 graudate of Indiana University School of Law. He practiced law in Monticello for more than forty (40) years. Jack was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Jack was a member of the Monticello Christian Church. He had served as a deacon, elder, and chairman of the church board. Jack is a past president of the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Union Township Public Library of Trustees, and was legal counsel of the Twin Lakes School Corporation since 1971, all of Monticello, Indiana. He served on the Tippecanoe Country Club Board of Trustees, and was a past chariman of the board of the former State and Saving Bank. Jack was a member of the Jaycees, Libanus Masonic Lodge #154 F. & A.M., Goodfellows, American Legion Post, and was a Boy Scout Leader all of Monticello, Indiana. Jack was also a member of the Indianapolis Murat Shriners.
Jack previously served as Prosecuting Attorney for White County. He served as Majority Floor Leader in the Indiana House of Representatives, and the Indiana Senate. Jack was named Outstanding Republican Freshman in both the House and Senate. Jack was the recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash bestowed upon hime by Governor Otis Bowen, and a Sagamore of the Wabash bestowed upon him by Governor Robert Orr.

Biographical Information: Dave had lived in the Burnettsville community for the last thirty eight (38) years. He was a 1965 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. Dave was a part owner of D & L Construction. He had worked at Von Tobels Lumber Company in Lafayette, Indiana, and Dye Lumber Company of Monticello, Indiana. Dave had served on the Burnettsville Town Board. He enjoyed being with his family, friends, out musroom hunting, and had faith in God. Dave also enjoyed old cars, hot rods, and racing of all kinds. In 1997, Dave was voted the salesman of the year by the Indiana Lumberman Association.

Biographical Information: Buck had lived in this area most all of his life, and was a 1950 graduate of Burnettsville High School in Burnettsville, Indiana. He was a life long member of the Burnettsville Baptist Church in Burnettsville, Indiana. Buck was also a member of the American Legion Post #91, and was a former member of the Rotary Club, both of Monticello, Indiana. He was the president of the former First National Bank here in Monticello from 1964 - 1976. Buck had also worked at the Community Bank in Brook, Indiana from 1976 until his retirement in 1994. He had served as the bank's president . Buck was a United State Navy Veteran. He loved wood-working, and was an avid sportsman.

Jack also retired from Civil Service where he was a mobilazition officer with the Readiness Group at Fort Benjamin Harrison. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the AMVETS all of the Indianapolis, Indiana area.
