Rex A. Vaughn

Rex A. Vaughn, 65, of 2810 North 675 West Shipshewana, IN. died at 8:50 AM on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Goshen General Hospital Goshen, IN., after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born October 3, 1942 in Allen County, IN., to Rodney and Rosalie (Carlson) Vaughn. He moved to this area in 1965 coming from Noble County. On August 11, 1961 in Noble County, IN. he married Sherrill A. (Smith) Vaughn. He had worked at J.O. Mory, Golden Auto Parts, LaGrange, Gerring Industries and was the owner and operator of Midwest Salvage & Shipshewana Antique Reproduction and he worked as a purchasing agent for Holly Park, Shipshewana for the past 8 years. He was a former member of the Shipshewana Lions Club, the Masons, Shipshewana Business Association, a merit board member of the LaGrange Sheriffs Association, former Captain of the Shipshewana Police Department from 1989 - 1995, a department he was instrumental in starting and served as a special deputy for the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Vaughn and 2 Daughters, Jennifer & Dave Burroughs of Shipshewana, IN., Stephanie & Daron Yoder of Howe, IN; Son, Brian & Georgeanne Vaughn of Howe, IN; 7 Grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Kevin, Drake, Jaci, Zak and Danika; 3 Brothers, Robert & June Vaughn of Shipshewana, IN., Ronald & Pat Vaughn of Wolcottville, IN, Randy & Linda Vaughn of Avilla, IN. He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers: Rodney & Richard Vaughn. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Shipshewana United Methodist Church, Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Rev. Charles McPeek and Rev. Andy Dayton. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana, IN. Memorials may be given to Care at Home Hospice of Goshen General Hospital Or Shipshewana United Methodist Church.

Mary Marquette Gage

Mary Marquette Gage, 67, of 52917 Carol Road Bristol, IN. died at 3:30 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at her residence, after a 4 month battle with cancer. She was born March 26, 1941 in Elkhart County, IN., to James and Thelma (Rizzo) Dillon. On August 16, 1959 in Leesburg, IN she married Gary Gage. She was a homemaker and had worked for her daughter at Mary's Diner, Bristol. She had also operated a daycare out of her home for several years. She was a member of the Scott United Methodist church and loved music. She played the organ and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her daughter at the restaurant. Survivors include her husband, Gary Gage and Daughter, Lori & Terry Wuthrich of Constantine, MI; 3 Sons, Timothy Gage of Waddell, AZ, Phillip & Dawn Gage of Middlebury, IN, Robert Gage of Bristol, IN.; 11 Grandchildren and a Brother, Robert & Marie Dillon of Shipshewana, IN. She was preceded in death by parents. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday at the Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Stedge of the Scott United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana, IN. Memorials may be given to the Care at Home Hospice of Goshen General Hospital.

Myron Ray Miller

Myron Ray Miller, 18, of 0650 North 850 West Shipshewana, IN. died at 4:58 AM on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the scene of a two vehicle accident on US 20 west of CR 1000 West, Shipshewana, IN. He was born August 7, 1990 in LaGrange, IN., to Glen J. and Ida M. (Miller) Miller. He was currently working on line 21 for Jayco, Inc. Survivors include Parents, Glen J. & Ida M. Miller of Shipshewana, IN.; Sister, Margaret Ann Miller of at home and her special friend: Devon Yoder of Topeka; 3 Brothers, Daryl Lynn Miller, Brian James Mille, and Jared Jay Miller all at home; Grandparents, Jerry E. & Ruby Miller of Shipshewana, IN., and Ora L. & Ella Miller of Topeka, IN; and his special friend, Mari Jo Lambright of Topeka, IN. Visitation will be after 2 PM Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the family's residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Floyd Lehman and the home ministers of the Old Order Amish Church. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Harvey Miller, Jr.

Harvey Miller, Jr., 78, of 1900 Jeanwood Drive Elkhart, IN died at 6:30 AM on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkhart, IN,, after a six month battle with cancer. He was born December 2, 1929 in Nappanee, IN., to Harvey A. and Carrie (Stethen) Miller. He was a Owner/Operator of the Golden Nugget Barbershop, Elkhart IN. He was a Corporal in the US Army serving in Germany during the Korean War, he was a member of the Elkhart Jaycees and the Elkhart Evening Optimists. Survivors include Daughter, Sherry & Richard Grise of Joplin, MO; Son, Kevin & Jennifer Miller of Elkhart, IN; 7 Grandchildren, 7 Step-Grandchildren; Sister, Liz & Norm Mattocks of Middlebury, IN; 3 Brothers, Homer Miller of Springs, TX, Glenn & Carolyn Miller of Middlebury, IN, Elmer Miller of Middlebury, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Debra L. Miller, a grandson: Christian Ernsberger, a sister: Mattie Troyer and 2 brothers: Amos & Nelson Miller. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 210 Chaplin. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN. Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care of Elkhart County.

Tony Ray Fenner

Tony Ray Fenner, 47, of 53 Brookside Manor Goshen, IN. died at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at his residence, his death was unexpected. He was born May 24, 1961 in LaGrange, IN., to James and Joan (Short) Fenner. On December 7, 1994 in Elkhart, IN. he married Mary Schalf. He had worked at different area factories. Tony enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family, he also enjoyed the summer months and spending time outside. Survivors include his wife, Mary Fenner and 2 Daughters, Candice Fenner of Goshen, IN., Courtney Fenner of Goshen, IN.; 2 Sons, John Dillinger, MI, Steven Schalf of Peru, IN; 2 Granddaughters; Father, James Fenner of Deray Beach, FL; 6 Brothers, David & Dianne Fenner of White Pigeon, MI, James & Teresa Fenner of Middlebury, IN, Steve & Cathy Fenner of Goshen, IN., Brian Fenner of Syracuse, IN, Scott Fenner of Elkhart, IN, Bill Fenner of Elkhart, IN; Sister, Lisa & Ken Gangwer of Albion, IN; Sister-in-law, Jill Mays of Syracuse, IN. He was preceded in death by his mother, a sister: JoEllen Fenner & a brother: Michael Fenner. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury, IN. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Terry Diener. Tobias J. Miller, 66, of 2735 South 600 West Topeka, IN died at 7:15 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at his residence, he had battled Multiple Sclerosis for the past 13 years. He was born December 8, 1941 in Chouteau, OK, to Jacob S.S. and Wilma (Troyer) Miller. On November 9, 1961 in LaGrange County, IN. he married Esther Hochstetler. He was a member of Old Order Amish Church. Jacob D. Lehman

Jacob D. Lehman, 48, of 2365 North 1150 West Middlebury, IN died unexpectedly at 9:13 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2008 in the emergency room at the Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, IN. He was born November 17, 1959 in LaGrange County, IN., to Daniel J. and Mary A. (Miller) Lehman. On September 20, 1979 in LaGrange County, IN. he married Ida Mae Miller. He was a member of Old Order Amish Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Lehman and 2 Daughters, Esther & Wayne Helmuth of Shipshewana, IN, and Kathy Lehman of Middlebury, IN; 7 Sons, David & Lora Lehman of Bristol, IN, Marion, Daniel (special friend- Brenda Yoder), Dennis, Jay, Lonnie and Michael Lehman all of Middlebury, IN; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Barbara & Ura Hochstetler of Holland, MI, and Katie Ann & David C. Yoder of Clare, MI; 7 Brothers, Andrew & Mary Lehman of Middlebury, IN, Harley & Lizzie Lehman of Goshen, IN., Walter & Esther Lehman of Millersburg, IN., Ora & Lorene Lehman of Goshen, IN., Henry & Katie Lehman of Rosebush, MI, William & Lorene Lehman of Middlebury, IN, and Samuel & Lisa Lehman of Shipshewana, IN. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Omer Lehman, his parents and a brother, Joe Lehman. Visitation will be after 2 PM on Wednesday and all day Thursday at the family's residence. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Sam Wingard Residence. Services will be conducted by the Bishop Samuel Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in Mast Cemetery, Middlebury, IN.
