Princeton, IN - Thelma Jane (Grissom) Potter, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at River Oaks Health Campus. She was born on July 23, 1926 in Stendal, IN to the late Ora and Letha (Winget) Grissom. Thelma was a graduate of Stendal High School, retired from Mid-States Rubber and was a member of Tower Heights Church of God and Gibson County Senior Center. Survivors include her daughters, Marla (Jack) Gardner, Debra Robinson, Brenda (Kevin) Frederick; 8 grandchildren, Matt Collins, Amy (Collins) Stayte, Aaron Gardner, Laura (Gardner) Abner, Andrea (Robinson) Durant, Ben Robinson, Cody Frederick, Lacey (Frederick) Richardson; 19 great-grandchildren McKenzie and Jarod Stayte, Quinn Collins, Tinsley, Maelyn Gardner, Brian, Brayanna, Zeke and Zion Abner, Cailee Robinson, Lily Durant, Patrick Summers, Blake and Gracie Bush, Annabella and Maxx Richardson, Addison, Hadlee and Charlotte Frederick.. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene Tillman Potter; daughter, Pamela Collins; brother, Charles Grissom. Services will be on Sunday April 3, 2016 at Tower Heights Church of God at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Skip Farmer officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Church.

Owensville, IN - Jewel Racine, 89, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at River Oaks Health Campus. She was born September 11, 1926 in Gibson County to the late Frank and Zella (Peek) Warren. Jewel was a homemaker, babysitter and attended the First General Baptist Church Owensville. Survivors include her children, Gary Racine, Sandy (Mike) Slinker, exdaughter-in-law, Teri Racine, 4 grandchildren, Staci Blair, Heath, Heather and Jamie Racine; 3 great-grandchildren, Halen and Devin Blair, Kaleigh Racine; siblings, Betty Mounts, Joyce (Hank) Kramer, Donald (Carol) Warren, Jim (Sherry) Warren; sisters-in-law, Ruth McClellan and Linda Devischeybergen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest B. on July 4, 2015, son, Tony; grandson, TJ; brothers, Bob, Larry and Richard Warren. Services will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Holders Funeral Home with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the First General Baptist Church Owensville.

Griffin, IN - Nina L. Fifer, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at New Harmonie HealthCare. She was born in Petersburg, IN on July 19, 1931 to the late William and Stella (Horton) Rodgers. Nina was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons, David K. and James (Cindy) Fifer both of Griffin; 5 grandchildren Will (Melanie), Christopher, Paige and Stephanie Fifer, Stacy Brown; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Townsend. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James; siblings, Curtis, James William and Elwood Rodgers, Betty Ware and Lillian Stallings. Services will be on Friday April 22, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Holders Funeral Home with Eddy Gene Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Griffin, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service time.

Evansville, IN - Glenda “Jane” (Riggs) Farrar, 65, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born in Montgomery Township Gibson County on May 13, 1950 to the late Donald and Nora (Anderson) Riggs. Jane was a housewife also a wonderful and loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carroll (Bub) Farrar; 4 children, Phillip (Dawn) Farrar, Theresa (Tom) Lepinski, Danny (Nadina Taylor) Farrar, Toletha Farrar and her fiancée Chris Lawson; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Danny (Vanessa) Riggs; several nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Robert, Steve, Kenneth, Gary, Aaron and Geneva Riggs. Services will be on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Jason Farrar officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the service time.

Raymond "Norman" Hartig
Friday, June 12, 1936 - Saturday, June 11, 2016

Haubstadt, IN - Raymond “Norman” Hartig, 79, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 one day before his 80th Birthday at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, IN surrounded by his family. He was born in Gibson County on June 12, 1936 to the late Raymond Gilbert and Elsa Gertude (Stunkel) Hartig. Norman was a graduate of Ft. Branch High School class of 1954. He worked as a truck driver for 41 years belonging to the Indiana Teamsters and Emge Union AFL/CIO. Norman also served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the St. Stephens Community Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, coon hunting, gardening, mushroom hunting and was an avid IU basketball fan; but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family. Norman loved the outdoors as you can tell from his list of many hobbies. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Nancy Ruth (Sanderson) Hartig; his three daughters, Sherri (Kenneth) Smith, Rhonda (Glenn ) Moore, Brenda (Paul) Meny; 9 grandchildren: Erin (Ryan) Kerns, Kendra (Joe) Taylor, Troy Smith, Rachel (Mitch) Stahl, Haylee Moore, Kayla, Makenzie, Dustin and Hope Meny; 7 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Ryder Evans, Cole, Brody and Nathan Kerns, Kylor Taylor and Mia Vaupel; 2 brothers-in-law: Jerry Garrett and Claude Robinson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Erma Rae Robinson and Carol Garrett; grandchildren, Scott Raymond Evans, Jessica Lynn and Jenilee Ann Moore. Services will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Community Church in Warrenton, IN with the Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Community Church, 12152 S 200 E, Haubstadt, IN 47639. Holders Funeral Home in Owensville is handling the arrangements.

She was born Aug. 7, 1917 in Owensville to the late Providence and Katie Margaret (Wilson) Wright. Mary graduated from Owensville High School class of 1935. She was self employed office manager working with her late husband Joe designing and decorating homes which he built. She is survived by siblings Carol Newton of Vincennes and John Wright of Princeton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, June 18, 2015; siblings, Eva Brown, Rowena Meadows and Oliver Wright. Service will be at 10:00 am CST on Wed. March 30, 2016 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Jarrod Chattin officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am CST until the service time.

Owensville, IN - Lorena M. (Mauck) Wilder, 100, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born in Gibson County on October 19, 1915 to the late Frank and Roxie (Jones) Mauck. Lorena was a homemaker, had worked at Potter and Brumfield and was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Owensville. She is survived by her daughter, Annavieve Creek, Jannavieve Higginbotham and Carol Warren; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Frankie Mauck; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Darrell on May 17, 1991; grandson, Brent Creek; Siblings, Julia Butler, Sara Heckman, Susan Sinclair and Jerry Mauck. Services will be on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with her great-grandson Jeremy Lang officiating. Burial will be in the Mauck Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time.

Fort Branch, IN - Susie Jane (Wilder) Tipton, 59, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born Nov. 24, 1957 in Princeton, IN to the late Wayne and Lucille Rachel (Clark) Wilder. Susie had worked at Deluxe Cleaners in Princeton for 28 years. Susie had several hobbies including crocheting, cooking and working with her flowers, however her favorite was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Mark of 41 years; four daughters, Jamie Tipton, Lora (Brian) Price, Heather Thaxton and Stephanie (Joe) Diephuis; eight grandchildren, Janessa Tipton, Skyler Tipton, Sidney Ready, Cecilia Price, Paige and Chase Thaxton, Patience and Melody Diephuis; siblings, Vanna (George) Dunigan, Jack (Pat) Wilder and Donna (Benny) Clevenger; her dogs, Sadie and Colt and Jet the Cat; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Owensville Cemetery with Bob Douglas officiating. Holders Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
