Joyce A. Maher (nee Groff), 73, Greenwood, passed away March 19, 2016. Creative and funny, she is survived by friends and family who loved her dearly, including husband, Charles (Tony) Maher; brother, Darrell Inman (Angie Long); daughters, Jamie (David) Jacques and Tami (Jeffrey) Edminster; grandchildren, Caitlin, Matthew, Alexandria and Abigail. Memorial services will be held at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7 p.m. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
David A. Heise

David A. Heise, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Patricia Joyce (Wingfield), son, David Edward (Stacy), daughter, Shannon Marie (Charles), son, Jonathan Martin (fiance Sara) and six grandchildren: Foster (18), Evan (16), Colin (13), Cayden (9), Brandon (11), and Isaiah (6). David is also survived by two brothers, four sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold G. Heise; mother, Mary B. (Gloekler) Heise; and step-mother, Nina C. Heise.
David was born in Erie, PA and at the age of five his family moved to Louisville, KY. He graduated from Trinity High School (1966), earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame (1970), and an MBA from Indiana University (1977). David was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He spent his entire professional career, thirty-six years, at Eli Lilly and Company based out of Indianapolis. He served his community faithfully as a former member and president of the Perry Township Kiwanis club, a dedicated volunteer at the Hunger Inc food pantry, and a committed parishioner of St. Barnabas Church.
His passions included: his deep faith in God, his loving family and grandchildren, golfing with his dear friends, travel, and Notre Dame and Colts football. All his life, he was a friend to many and will be missed for his giving nature, warm personality, and uplifting spirit.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017, 3 to 8 p.m., at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (South US 31). Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to Saint Barnabas Church, the University of Notre Dame, Saint Meinrad Seminary, or the Franciscan Health Hospice House in lieu of flowers.

Margaret A. (Lauer) McMahon

Margaret A. (Lauer) McMahon, 94, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2016 at her daughter's home in Greenwood, IN. She was born January 12, 1922 in Indianapolis to E. Regis and Mary Frances (Malone) Lauer. Marge graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1940 and married the love of her life, Fran McMahon, on October 26, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fran; and their son, Patrick J. McMahon and is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary Fran Guilfoy (Kevin) of Greenwood, IN, Phyllis Guilfoy (Paul) of Greenwood, IN, Teresa Ehalt (Jim) of Springfield, OH; brother, F. Leroy Lauer of Florida; and her daughter-in-law, Beth (Wilhem) McMahon. Marge was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved being with her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Marge was employed by SMT Guild for 20 years. She enjoyed teaching line dancing and watching Notre Dame football. A special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with calling at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. August "Gus" Joseph Stinnett, 83, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis on March 8, 1933 to Paul J. and Josephine Sansone Stinnett. Gus was a graduate of Marian (College) University and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Gus worked as a comptroller for the Boy Scouts of America for 25 years. He previously worked for Indiana National Bank, Plumbers Supply Co., the Indiana State Fair as a comptroller, and as the business manager at St. Lawrence Parish. He also worked at Stumpf Sisters Meats in the City Market. He served as scoutmaster for Troop 93 from St. Catherine of Siena Parish for many years. Gus has been a dedicated member and steward of Holy Rosary Catholic Church his entire life. Gus is survived by his wife, Ruth Feltz Stinnett; children, Michael, Catherine Pfeifer (David), Steven (Valerie), John (deceased) (Sharon); Rita Sahm (Raymond), Suzanne Stinnett (Tom Corbett, Ralph Boots); grandchildren, Brian, Brandon (deceased), and Brittney Pfeifer, Gilbert and Michael Ham, Allyson Cassaday, Jordyn Stinnett, and Darren Wilkinson, Nicholas Sahm (Erin), Benjamin Corbett (Annie); and 9 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Monday at 9:45 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Wilma Ilene Roell, 86, Beech Grove, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. She was born May 6, 1930 in Leavenworth, IN to William and Mildred Collins Bigler. Wilma worked as a supervisor and information operator for Indiana Bell for over 20 years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church where she taught Sunday Catechism and the AT&T Pioneers. Wilma also volunteered for the Ave Maria Guild and St. Vincent de Paul. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Candida A. Henry-Martin and is survived by her husband, Robert Roell Sr; children, Robert Jr., Charles, David, James, Deborah Harney, Christine Beck, Laura Terry, Cynthia Tyler; 36 grandchildren; 90 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Name Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. Ruth S. Allen

Ruth S. Allen, age 94, beloved wife of Donald M. Allen (deceased) completed her days on earth on October 3, 2016. Her life was marked by loving service to her husband of 72 years, family, friends and community. Her lively interest in people and knowledge, her solid commitment to living out her faith and personal values, her generosity in sharing knowledge and her warmth are lasting gifts to all whose lives she touched. Although Ruth will be deeply missed, we rejoice in her life that was so beautifully lived. She was committed to constantly learning more and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees after her children were independent. For many years she shared the gift of knowledge as a teacher at St. Mark Grade School and Greenwood Middle School. After her retirement she served as a docent for the Indianapolis Art Museum and volunteered serving the needy through the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She and her husband were founding members of St. Mark Catholic Church and remained quite active in the parish until their deaths. Ruth is survived by her son, John Paul Allen (Jo Ann) and their daughter Julanne Ruth; Victoria Jean Musick (John) and their children Elizabeth, Katherine, John Jr. and Margaret; the children of her son James Francis Allen (deceased) Jay, Jennifer, Jeffrey and John; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 East Edgewood Ave, Indianapolis, IN on Friday October 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday October 6, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Daniel F. Walter E. Williams, 83, of Indianapolis passed away October 8, 2016. He was born in Lima, Ohio on February 15, 1933 to Samuel and Catherine (Gorman) Williams. Walter was a graduate of Howe High School and Xavier University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He began his professional career with Shell Oil Company and later established a successful business partnership with his brother Don. They operated a retail gasoline business and real estate business. Walter was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Eleanor (Mullooly); children, Cathy (Tom) Henninger, Anne (Dave) Okerson, Patty (Tim) Luttrell, and John (Mary Lou) Williams; sister, Connie; brother, Don; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Daniel F. Torey Edward Dunn, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. He was born in Wisconsin on July 27, 1972 . He was an avid supporter of and veteran of the US Air Force, a creative writer, and passionate father. After the passing of their mother, Torey focused his drive and energy on the well-being of his three youngest children. He devoted his time to supporting Abigail’s love of tennis, mentored Torey’s robotics team and Cecelia’s passion for soccer. He is survived by his children: Rissa, Torey, Abigail, Cecelia; step-mother Maryann Dunn; siblings Tony, Tara, Todd, and Tyler. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, Indiana immediately followed a Memorial Service.
