Ronald John Tex
Ronald Tex, 82, was reunited with his brothers and parents in a heavenly celebration on Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was a loving and caring brother and uncle. Our hearts are broken today, but we rejoice in the knowledge from the Faith that he treasured so much that we will see him again one day.
Ronnie retired from Jenn Air. He enjoyed walking downtown and eating at the City Market. He enjoyed many sporting events with his siblings including the Indianapolis 500, Indiana Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, and oh yes the horses! He was known for his impersonation of Donald Duck and also greeting his nieces and nephews by making "rabbit ears" with his fingers.
He is survived by his loving sister, Mary Tex and brother Thomas Tex. Nieces and Nephews : Sharon Paul, Karen Miller, Angie Miller, Mark Miller, Judy Heatherly, Debbie Tex, Tom Tex, Tamara Taylor, Kevin Tex, Becky Tex Krauth, John Tex, Jeff Tex, Jerry Tex, Kathy Tex, Melissa LeRoux and Carrie Tex; and several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for calling from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Morning Prayers will be observed at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark Catholic Church at 11 A.M on Monday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Elizabeth M. Clark
Elizabeth M. Clark, 94, Indianapolis, passed away August 7, 2017. She was born June 21, 1923, in Indianapolis, to the late Martha and Orville Stevason. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Clark; brothers, Eugene, James, and Tom Stevason.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Danny) Shine; son, Craig (Debi) Clark; sisters, Nora May Cunningham, Mary Ellen O’Donnell; grandchildren, Patrick (Leslie) Clark, Kelly Clark; two great grandchildren, Layla Clark and Nora Clark.
Elizabeth loved to bet on sports and enjoyed all games of chance and cooking. Above all, she was devoted to her family and especially looked forward to Christmas holidays.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, 4 to 7 p. m. in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017, at the funeral home, with Fr. James Wilmoth officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Oscar G. Ritchie, Sr.
Oscar G. Ritchie, Sr., 74, Indianapolis, passed away August 28, 2017. Mr. Ritchie was born February 5, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Oscar and Margaret (Mills) Ritchie.
Oscar ran a laundry route for 38 years, starting with Mechanics Laundry and retiring from Cintas in 2010. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. Oscar will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Above all, Oscar was a proud family man who loved to spend time with his loved ones. He will be fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Sonny.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Verna May (Morris) Ritchie; children, Oscar G. (Cindy) Ritchie, Jr., Margaret (Tony E. Sr.) Curtis, Larry (Tammy) Brown, and Benjamin Ritchie; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Johnny, Joseph, and LeRoy; sisters, Josephine, Rosella, Ellen, Joyce, and Ann.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2017, in The Bible Church, 6555 E. Payne Road, Indianapolis. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Patrick Joseph Bennett, IV
Patrick Joseph Bennett IV died peacefully at home Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born to the late Patrick & Margaret Bennett in Universal, IN on April 4, 1933.
Pat spent 40 years as an attorney, much of it at his firm Bennett & Sheff in Indianapolis. He passed the bar after finishing IU law school with four children at home and working full time for the Indiana State Police, where he served as a trooper for 15 years. He lived much of his life near the water and spent a lot of time in or under it, as he was one of the first divers for the police force. Later he served on the board of the Indiana State Police. His career began in the U.S. Navy and he spent time on the USS Andromeda in Southeast Asia.
Tennis was not just sport for Pat but an obsession (followed closely by his love of ice cream). Lessons led to tournaments at Riviera Club. He moved his family to Greenwood where the first renovation at the house was to install a tennis court. Many summer parties were enjoyed there and Pat & Marie were somehow in all of the sporting events, tennis, volleyball, soccer, swimming, softball, and grilling!
An avid coach, Pat and his wife Marie started the Center Grove Lassie League along with Bruce Banta in 1973 and soon after developed the traveling team that his daughters all played on. Now, 40 years later, his great granddaughter plays with this league.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 64.5 years ;-) Marie, Brother David (Pudge) Bennett; sister Connie Jarosak, his four children Becky (Alan), FL; Carrie Dragt (Tom); Susan; and Patrick (Patricia). Thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many, many friends.
Memorial services, an Irish Wake, will be at the home of his daughter on September 16th from 4pm to 8pm. Contact a family member for address. The Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Rosemary T. "Rory" Wyss
Rosemary T. “Rory” Wyss, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2017. Rory was born October 15, 1956, in Indianapolis, to the late William and Gertrude (Koers) Wyss.
Celebrating her life are sisters, Angela Wyss Brown and Jeannine Wyss Boyd of Dallas; nephews, Trent and Travis Brown and their families and Ian Boyd; beloved aunt, Marlene Koers; numerous cousins and friends, Bloomington hiking friends, and members of the Indianapolis Hiking Club, and supportive colleagues at Frost Brown Todd, LLC, join her family in remembering her.
In addition to her lengthy administrative career in private law, Rory worked for the FBI, hiked, and traveled extensively across five continents, the United States, the District of Columbia, Canada, and Mexico. She was an historian, avid reader, and participated in both Ballroom and Contra dance activities for many years.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 5 - 6:30 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:30 that will conclude with a video tribute in memory of Rory’s life. William E. "Bill" Mathauer
William E. “Bill” Mathauer, 73, Indianapolis, passed away June 17, 2017. Bill was born May 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, to the late Harold P. and Lorynne (Hauck) Mathauer.
He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. Bill retired from DQP Printing as the manager after more than 30 years of employment. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and was a former member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Above all, Bill was a strong family man. Described as generous, kind, faithful, and full of integrity, he will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores (Donnelly) Mathauer and two brothers, Harold J. “Bud” and David Mathauer.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Buckel) Mathauer, to whom he was united in marriage May 28, 1988; children, Janet (Dwight) Wood, Joan (Steve) Berning, Willliam M. “Bill” (Patrice) Mathauer, and Sister Becky Mathauer, OSB of Ferdinand, Indiana; sisters, Martha Mathauer, Georgiann Crouch, Theresa Roembke, and Linda Wilson; grandchildren, Andy Peyton, Kristi Wood, and Casie Wood; Hope, Claire, and Gillian Mathauer; Brandon, Nikki, and Johnny Berning; great grandchildren, Tony and Brookie.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, where morning prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Dennis Francis Donahue
Dennis Francis Donahue went to Tralfamadore on June 4, 2017. He passed away in his home sitting in his favorite chair.
Dennis was born on January 30, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents, Ed and Ann Donahue. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country in the Vietnam War from 1966-1969, earning the Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Pistol Badge and Marksman Rifle Badge.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathryn, sons Michael and Jason, daughter Kelly (Matthew), his GrahamSon, brother Steve (Margaret), sister-in-law Theresa, mother-in-law Donna Winter and many relatives from the Ahues and the Ohues.
He is also survived by his best friends William ("We'll buy, won't we Bill?") Amrine and Steve "Bones" Casterline, and his Marine Corps Sidekicks T.W. "Smitty" Smith, Bobby Saunders, Jamie Roach, Stevie D. Mylin and Barry Heffner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ann, and brother Patrick.
Dennis never met a stranger, and always had a story or joke to share; just don't expect it to be short. He was quick to offer a beer and could bullshit (or bovine scatology) better than anyone.

Mary "Dolly" Patterson
Mary “Dolly” Patterson, 83, Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home, May 28, 2017. Mrs. Patterson was born January 10, 1934, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward and Mary Bernadette (Rathz) Rosebrock.
Survivors include her children, Agnes (Tom) Hawley, Bill (Karen), John (Kaye), Mike (Debbie), Patty (Mike) Kaschak, Dan, Mary Jo (Dave) McGowan, Tim, Chris (Kelli), and Susie (Joe) Shanks; daughter-in-law, Jill; 28 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chief William J. Patterson; sons, Matt and Bob; one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
A devout Catholic, she had been a member of Sacred Heart, St. Jude, and a 34-year member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She was a bus driver at St. Jude, worked for a period of time at L.S. Ayres, and also was a gardener at the St. Francis Cancer Garden. Dolly loved gardening, bingo, quilting, and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved her birds, enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was also a loyal Indiana Pacers fan. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife and homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her memory will be cherished by a loving family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 3 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. Recitation of the rosary will be at 2:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Franklin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Simon Cancer Center or to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
